Notre association (AJS - association Jeunesse Solide) a pour but de mener des projets de soutien au développement dans les domaines de l’éducation, de la santé, de l’environnement, de la culture et du sport au Burkina Faso. Pour cela notre association rassemble des bénévoles français et européens intéressés par la découverte du pays à travers des projets de développement. Ces projets permettent des rencontres interculturelles, qui s’inscrivent dans une dynamique de développement local et concernent l’intérêt général.
Cet été, du 07 au 28 Aout, nous organisons les chantiers suivants :OUAGADOUGOU (capitale du Burkina Faso) : chantier de soutien scolaireNABADOGO : village situé à 60km de OUAGADOUGOU : chantien de soutien scolaire et réhabilitation de logment d'instituteursKOUKOULDI : chantier d'appui sanitaire et de reboisementLes groupes sont composés d’une vingtaine de personnes : 12 à 15 bénévoles européens et une dizaine de bénévoles burkinabè. Après 2 ou 3 jours dans la capitale pour la fête d’accueil, les présentations et les explications sur l’organisation des chantiers, les bénévoles partent sur les chantiers.
La journée sur un chantier tend à s’organiser de la façon suivante : travail ou soutien scolaire de 8h à 12h environ. Puis repas et détente jusqu’à 15h, heure à laquelle sont organisées les activités pour les enfants : tournois de foot, théâtre, danse, bricolage… c'est l'occasion rêvée d'échanger avec les enfants ! Fin des activités à 17h. A la fin de chaque chantier, une fête de clôture est organisée. Ce sont les bénévoles qui organisent la kermesse et les jeux (course en sac, pêche à la ligne, tirs au but…) et les enfants présentent le travail accompli lors des activités avec les bénévoles (pièce de théâtre, chorégraphie, chansons…).

I’m a volunteer leader at a youth center (MJC), and we’ve been deeply moved by everything happening in Madagascar—extreme poverty, endangered animals, deforestation, and so on. Plus, one of our teens has a Malagasy friend, so our group wants to travel there next year.
Throughout this year, they’ve planned fundraisers to collect donations (sheets, dish towels, schoolbooks, hygiene products, etc.) and funds to cover their trip and stay.
They’re really motivated and generous—they already volunteer in schools and senior centers, and they’re always welcomed warmly.
But so far, they haven’t found any organizations in Madagascar willing to host them for two weeks (orphanages, schools, animal protection parks, etc.).
Does anyone know of any contacts, please?

After 8 months of volunteering in Tanzania at a center for street children, I’d like to go back for a year in the same kind of role—this time in Burkina. Solidafrica is a recognized humanitarian association of general interest. We donate wheelchairs in Africa. We currently have 2 wheelchairs that we would like to give to our partner, the Benin Handisport Federation. If you're traveling to Benin, alone or with someone, we could give you one of these 2 wheelchairs (or both). Out of the 40 kg of luggage you're allowed, a wheelchair will only take up less than half. Our partner can pick it up at Cotonou Airport...

Hello, we’d like to travel as a family to Madagascar (2 parents, 2 kids aged 10 and 12). A first trip over 15 years ago completely amazed and moved me with its beauty, kindness, and life experiences—but also its poverty and hardship. That’s why I think it’s possible to introduce our kids to this island while also doing something useful through volunteering. The window is short—15 days in March 2020—which means avoiding the north and east of the island due to cyclones and focusing on the south instead. Some ecovolunteering projects exist online, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive, and kids are rarely accepted. Do you have any ideas or contacts? Thanks in advance!
