J'écris ce post car je commence vraiment à me tracasser et que je ne trouve pour le moment pas de solution efficace seule.
Je suis au Cambodge ( Siem reap) pour le moment, je me suis faites piquée plus ou moins 7 ou 8X par les moustiques ou autres bêtes, le problème est que ces piqûres ont toujours le même scénario que je gratte, que je ne gratte pas !
Je m'explique : Je me fais piquer, la piqûre gonfle au milieu se prépare une petite poche de liquide jaunâtre (je suppose du liquide plasmatique) ensuite elle gonfle tellement (cad 4-5 mm de hauteur) que la cloche s'éclate d'elle même.
Ensuite ma peau est à vif => je mets soit cortisone (crémicort) soit d'abord iso puis pansement à l'argent en fonction de mon ressentit.
Le problème c'est qu'en plus du cercle vicieux que la plaie fait, elle s’étend à bien 5 à 10cm tout le contour est un peu rouge et gonflé, cela s'étend de plus en plus.
Bref, malgré ça une fois que ca cicatrise (c'est un grand mot) la petite bulle revient, se recasent etc....
J'ai l'impression que quoique je fasse elle va me gêner jusqu'au bout de mon voyage (1mois).
J'ai un antihistaminique avec que je veux garder en cas de gros problèmes respi.
J'ai dans ma trousse (anti biotique, iso, crème cortisone, ) mais malgré cela ça ne passe pas!(! je ne prends pas d'atb pour cela hein !).
Je suppose que c'est une allergie aux piqûres mais tout ce que je lis à chaque fois sur le Cambodge est : ne pas acheter de médoc en pharmacie ce ne sont pas de vrai médicaments, ...
Est ce que quelqu'un a déjà eu des réactions similaires si oui, peut-il me dire ce qu'il a prit comme traitement ?
Evidement, tous les soir je me badigeon de solution pour les moustiques mais rien n'y fait, certains sont plus attiré par mon sang :-)

Effectivement il est urgent de voir un medecin. A Siem Reap, un bon medecin néerlandais ( anglais et parle assez bien francais )et qui vit au Cambodge depuis des annees. Il se trouve derrière la banque ANZ, dans la petite rue parrallèle à celle qui mene au central market

Pour les medicaments, vous pouvez sans probleme les acheter à la pharmacie U Care( près du vieux marché). Aucune contrefaçon ici.
J'ai eu des prb similaires au Sri Lanka et ce n'était pas très beau à voir.
Si le medecin vous a prescrit du Phenergan, Ok mais si votre état empire, allez le voir sans plus attendre. Telle vous decrivez la plaie, il semble qu'elle soit infectée et le Phernergan n'est qu'un antihistaminique.
Il serait, au minimum, urgent de la nettoyer à la Betadine au moins deux ou trois par jour. Sous les climats humides et qui plus est très poussièreux, les blessures et piqures s'infectent très vite. Il vous faut absolument couvrir la plaie par un pansement hermétique ( à l'inverse de ce qui est generalement préconisé en climats secs) jusqu'à guerison complète. Faute de quoi avec l'humidité, la situation risque de s'aggraver. Ne prenez pas la chose à la legère.
En effet, en route pour Battam bang aujourd'hui mon pied était très gonflé! Mais pas de rougeur, pas de fièvre, pas d"écoulement au niveau de la plaie qui pourraient m'alarmer...
Cependant... je me tracassais quand même! ( surtout mon copain...)
Donc on est allé à la polyclinique qui m'ont donné du midantin (amoxyciline et acide clavulanic) et du serepase pour l'oedeme.
On verra bien demain, j'avoue que cela me joue un gros coup sur le moral qui est assez bas !
Je sais que ça fait partie du voyage mais voilà...
Nous avons sonné à l'assurance mondiale, en fonction de l'état des piqûres demain, on part sur Siem rap pour aller à l'hopital ou non !
Comme tu dis le moral joue beaucoup ! alors je fais face après tout, les femmes sont moins douillettes que les hommes hihi
A SR, Le seul hopital digne de ce nom est la Royal Angkor Hospital, hopital thai située sur la RN 6.
Tarif Hors de prix donc verfié avec l'assurance. Mais compétence assurée. Ailleurs, c'est plutôt la catastrophe.
La Naga clinic, dirigé par le dr Garen, medecin reférent de l'ambassade France est malheureusement situé à PP. Très bien aussi.
PS si votre pied est aussi gonflé que vous le dites, il y a un sérieux prb. Ne restez pas sans soin. Et encore une fois, en attendant, couvrez votre plaie hermétiquement et nettoyez regulièrement avec de la Betadine en vente partout.
Mon pied est gonflé d'eau ! je pense que c'est de la rétention dû à une réaction inflammatoire!
Par moment je sens que c'est chaud ( signe inflammatoire) par d'autre moment je ne sens rien, lorsque je prends l'avion je suis obligée de mettre des bas de contention sinon je ne rentre plus dans mes chaussures !
Je pense que je suis prédisposée à avoir les pieds qui gonfle et vu que là il y a une plaie, peut être que la circulation ne passe pas bien !
Quoiqu'il en soit, si demain rien ne va mieux je pars vers SR ou notre assurance mondial nous a diriger vers le royal hopital angkor...
JE croise néanmoins les doigts pour que tout se passe mieux!

C'est juste " à vif" et très rouge tout autour et le pied gonflé!
Je pars au Cambodge dans 2 semaines (3aout 2011) !! pour 11jours (un circuit plutôt "classique", dans les villes : capitale, Angkor etc...; et en hôtels de "luxe")
... et j'ai l'impression que vous connaissez bien le "sujet" :)
Donc je me permets de vous poser 2-3 questions de "santé" (et sur mon circuit) :
- 1) traitement "contre" le palu (traitement préventif des crises) :
* malarone (je redoute franchement la lourdeur des effets 2aires, vu que je suis - très - fragile... et que je "choppe tout", et en particulier TOUS les effets 2aires de TOUS les médocs, ou presque :) ?
OU
* doxypalu ? (mais vu que je pars en aout, je redoute - là aussi- les effets photosensibilisants..., même si je ne suis pas du tout "bronzette", je risque de bronzer rien qu'en marchant/visitant, la journée, au soleil...)

savez-vous comment ces 2 vaccins sont "tolérés"? (vais je être "cassée" pendant 48h ?)
- 3) sachant que je n'ai pas encore précisément bouclé mon "circuit" de 11jours (j'ai juste un billet pour l'instant), que me conseillez vous ? (lieu/ville; durée par lieu; combien de jours à Angkor, combien dans la capitale etc...) ?
Pour notre part nous avons prit la malarone nous avons eu une grosse intoxication alimentaire pendant 3 jours, on a accusé à tord la Malarone qui au final si elle est prise PENDANT le repas a été très très bien tolérée ! Hors mon compagnon TRES sensible aux maux de tetes et de ventre n'a eu aucun symptômes indiqué sur la notice.
On a fait la Typhoide on est pas ecarté ( on peut même donner du sang 15 jours après).
Etant donné que je suis infirmiere j'ai déjà les vaccins contre l'hépatite et mon compagnon les avait fait l'année passée.
Nous sommes resté 15 jours sur le Cambodge
2jours sur Phnom pen ( on avait pas le choix mais on n'a pas aimé la ville...)
S. reap 5jours ( 2jours pour Ankor sans guide on avait fait notre itinéraire tout seul et pris un un tuktuk pour 12 dollars/jour via la lovely guest house)
ensuite Battambang 1 jours dans la guest house de Sam on n'y est malheureusement pas resté plus longtemps car j'ai eu une infection et je suis repartie sur SR pour avoir un hopital de bonne qualité.
Sihanoukville on ne l'a pas fait car le temps n'était pas de la partie, en effet la saison des pluies est bien mieux respectée au Cambodge!

On a choisi finalement de ne pas prendre de traitement contre le paludisme et de rester dans les zones peu exposées (Phnom Pen et Siem Reap). Que conseilles-tu dans les alentours de ces deux villes? (On y passe 11 jours en tout, ce qui est beaucoup je sais. Combien de jours par ville?).
Y'a t'il beaucoup de choses à faire le soir (restos, bars, etc...)?

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.

After those 6 months, is it possible (instead of bothering a relative to send the medication) to see a foreign doctor to get another 6-month travel authorization? How does it work at the airport?
