Location of 'Gare du Nord' bus stop from Montparnasse
Hi fellow traveler,

I was wondering where the 'Gare du Nord' stop is when you arrive on the 39 bus from Montparnasse, and whether the 'Gare du Nord Dunkerque' stop in front of the station is served by this bus? From what I've read, there's no stop there on the return trip, which seems odd to me.

Thanks a lot!

Feedback on our first family trip to France itinerary
Hi everyone,

I’m planning our very first trip to mainland France in January 2027. There’ll be 2 adults and 2 kids, and we’ll mostly be traveling by train.

Here’s our itinerary:

Paris Rouen (Normandy) Lyon Aix-les-Bains (with day trips to Annecy and Geneva) Saint-Gervais-les-Bains (with Chamonix and a day in Aosta) Back to Paris

Do you think this itinerary is well-balanced? Any tips, must-see spots, or mistakes to avoid for a first-time visit?

Thanks in advance for your advice! !

Paris - Marseille/Montpellier by train with bikes
Hi everyone,

I’m trying to figure out how to get from Paris to Marseille or Montpellier with non-disassembled bikes by train in early July 2025... and it’s a total flop!!! Can’t find any trains that offer the bike-on-board option! It’s so complicated between SNCF-CONNECT, OUIGO, and TER INTERCITÉS!!! Nothing’s simple! I want to take my teens and their cousins on a bike trip to the Camargue, but I’ll have to start planning way ahead to sort out bike transport!!! So glad I found VoyageForum for tips! !
