Alors on part à 2 avec mon amie la semaine prochaine au maroc pour une semaine.
On reste à Marrakesh 2 jours, et ensuite on a prévu d'aller dans la vallée du Draa et dans l'erg Chegaga.
Le petit circuit pour le moment: J1: Marrakesh Agdz via Ait benhadou et tamnougalt. On a vu la casbah Caid Ali qui a l'air d'etre tres sympa dans la palmeraie et pas cher. J2: Agdz - erg chegaga via Mhamid. J3: soit erg chegaga - lac iriki - Foum Zguid - Ouarzazate - marrakech
soit erg chegaga et retour marrakesh.
La ou on est un peu bloqués, c'est qu'on a pas trop les moyens et qu'on cherche à faire pas trop cher... et que quand on parle avec les guides de M'hamid, il nous demandent les yeux de la tête pour faire ca...
Donc on se dit qu'on peut faire une grande partie de tout ca en grands taxis ou loc de voiture.
MAIS si on fait ca, on passe pas par la piste de la vallée du Draa... ni la piste entre Telouet et Ait Benadou...
Donc on tourne un pu en rond et on sait pas se decider...
Donc questions: En voiture le loc par Medloc (pas cher), est-ce qu'on peut prendre la voiture à Marrakesh et la laisser à Zagora ou Mhamid ? En grand taxi est-ce qu'il va nous amener de Marrakesh à Ait Benhadou? La vallée du Draa par la route nationale (P31) ca vaut le coup quand meme ou il faut "absolument" passer par la piste pour profiter de la palmeraie et du charme de cette vallée? Est-ce qu'un grand taxi qu'on prendrait juste pour nous prendrait cette piste pour nous amener à Mhamid? Si on prend un grand taxi que pour nous deux, si j'ai bien compris il faut rachetter les autres places, donc 6*30Dh pour 100km. C'est ca? ou il faut negocier un prix "global" pour la journée? Est-ce que la boucle Erg Chegaga - lac Iriki - Foum Zguid - Ouarzazate vaut le coup ? Parceque pour le moment on nous demande plusieurs centaines d'euros pour cette boucle Agdz-Ouarzazate!!

une fois de plus, il y a des bus, autrement plus pratiques, plus confortables, moins dingues, et pas plus cher.

c'est plus compliqué, ils acceptent difficilement de s'éloigner beaucoup de leur base, sans compensation conséquente. en tout cas c'est totalement inapproprié sur le parcours que tu projètes.

ca vaut le coup, mais ce n'est pas ce qui se fait de mieux !
il faut le faire en solo avec un vrai 4x4, et le matos de bivouac. question d'ambiance !

Les problèmes, la durée, le moyen de locomotion.
J'ai fait ce parcours il y a 15 jours en 4x4 perso.
1 jour : aller jusqu'à agdz ok avec la visite de aït benhadou.
2 jours : il faut arrivée vers 15h00 sur mhamid pour partir en 4x4 ou autre vers la dune 58 km de piste 1h30 de route.
Par contre pour le 3 ième jour départ du bivouac à 7h30 départ de mhamid vers 8 h30 et arrivée par la national à marrakech à 18h00 en roulant bien car cela fait 500km pile.
A/R 1000km en 3 jours j'étais un peu fatigué, les paysages sont pas mal voir joli quand on connait pas.
Ma femme y retourne mercredi avec des amis moi je renonce c'est trop fatigant. Le cout par personne avec mon véhicule.
Essence, 1000dh, mon beaufrère à louer pour 1100dh une logan, le bivouac en 4x4 à mhamid 350/pers, 1 nuit hotel à 200dh en 1/2p, + 3 repas le midi à 60dh= 200dh.
Pour 2 jours, je dirais à la louche : 3000dh à 4000dh pour les 3 jours.
Mais ton retour je crois n'est pas faisable en temps.(j 3)
Du coup ca me fait un peu remettre en question nos plans...
Va falloir y reflechir encore un peu!
Mais concernant la vallée du Draa, vous pensez quoi entre l'option départementale et l'option piste?
On profite quand meme bien de la vallée depuis la nationale, ou il faut vraiment passer par la piste ?

La kasbah Caïd Ali est la seule auberge qui nous a déçu.
Par contre, si tu t'arrêtes à Aït Ben Haddou, je te conseille la Kasbah du jardin : une très bonne adresse.

route obligatoire si tu n'as pas un 4x4 les pistes sont interdites avec des vehicules de tourisme (Logan ou autre) par les loueurs,
sinon c'est une tres belle piste
Je n'ai jamais pris la piste en parallèle, à mon grand regret.
Il faut du temps et cela risque être ton problème en plus du 4x4 obligatoire car je crois qu'il y a du sable.
La route est dépaysante quand même.
Pour ton retour tant que j'y pense, par la piste c'est vraiment trop long, il y a 500 km au plus court par la route.
Comme je te disais, en partant du bivouac à 7h30, cela nous a fait manger à adgz à 12 h30. 15h00 à la sortie de ouarzazate, attention au radar.
Le mieux c'est 4 jours.

La piste parralèle, de Tansikt à Zagora, par les petits douars, et quelques kasbahs, est assez jolie, mais comme signalé interdite aux véhicules normaux de loc.
La totalité se fait en 2à 3 h, en flanant, il n'y a aucun piège, ni sable mou.
On peut en avoir un excellent résumé en la prenant à Benizouli, vers Zagora, et en zigzagant dans la palmeraie, et si ce n'est pas encore goudronné, ca ne va surement pas tarder.
L'autre partie Agdz, Tansikt, m'a paru moins évidente, mais on peut la prendre à Tamnougalt, pour visiter la kasbah qui vaut le détour.
prendre une voiture de location depuis marrackech prendre la route le matin de bonheur rouler cool monter du col trés rude surtout les autres véhicules sinon paysages et route nikel depuis ouarzzatte jusqu'a mhamid
il n'existe pas de piste qui longe la vallée du draa .
a 100km de zagora vous pouvez passer par n'kob/tazarrine sa re tombe a zagora sa fait une boucle on dirait le farwest

nous avons fait ce circuit l'année dernière avec un ami qui a une agence. Nous avions un 4x4 et c'est bien indispensable pour faire la vallée du Draa par la piste, Agdz, tamnougalt (arrêt chez Mohamed bien sûr !), nuit à Zagora, ensuite descente sur Mahmid, nuit au pied de la grande dune de Chegaga, puis lac Iriki et remontée magnifique par le reg sur Foum zguid. Nous avons ensuite passé deux jours autour du Siroua, pour remonter sur Ouarzazate et Marrakech. Mais pour la piste il faut absolument un 4x4 et encore plus pour faire la piste du lac Iriki vers Mahmid... avec un guide bien sûr à moins d'avoir un bon GPS et de s'y connaitre !!!🙂

I’ve read through the various discussions about the country, but I’m still a bit unsure🤪: for currency exchange, I saw on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that withdrawing currency with a bank card from ATMs is limited to 200 TND per week. There are four of us traveling by car, so that might be a bit tight! And it’s a hassle to carry a lot of cash, even if I’m not being paranoid! What do you all recommend?

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?

- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

is it advisable to take a taxi at the airport (cost?) or is it wiser to book one through the hotel before departure (which would cost me 20 €)?
