la pluie ( les locals disent que la saison des pluie achevent mais pour eux la pluie c'est 2-3 gouttes)
dans la semaine complete il a plus 4 fois et environ 10-12 minute par fois, donc ya rien la ( c'est meme le bienvenue ca rafraichit) n'oubli pas que tu est dans le pays avec l'essance au meilleurs prix ( pour un F-150 v8 ca coute 2-3$ us pour 90 litres......WOW .environs 0.03 $ le litre.
pour 35$ je te conseil le fameux jeep tour. c'est une journee pleine d'emotion forte(il conduisent en fou, mais c'est cool)
et aussi j'ai fait beaucoup d'argent en echangeant des Us$ en bolivar sur la plage meme!! au lieu d'avoir 1$pour 1860 bolivar j'ai eu un change de 1$us pour 2300bolivard !!!
l'alcool est tres cheap, j;avais un tout inclu et j'ai jamais toucher aleur alcool . 36 biere en cannette ou bouteiile pour 3$ un 40onces de rhum bacardi 2$ donc avec 10$ t'as tout ce qui va falloir pour ta semaine..😏
Ca nous rassure pour la météo, nous avions peur quand janvier ce soit pas beau car c'est la période la moins dispendieuse pour les hotels, comparé aux autres destinations ou c'est parfois l'inversse!!

on etais a 5 min de marche de l'hotel (playa el agua)

pour ma part j'ai pris un taxi pour aller a la plage manzanillo
10 min de playa el agua et ca ete un coup de foudre tout les locals etais la!!! (belles venezuelienne) c'etais super cool!!
mon conseil c'est de bouger prend un taxi ( pour aller a porlamar de mon hotel (playa el agua) c'etait 45 min dans un vieux ford 85 en mauvais etat, mais c'etais cool! le prix 10$us ou 20000 bolivars. WOW. je te conseil si tu sejourne pres de el agua d'aller prs des petites boutiques qui longent la mer et de rencontere Horacio un argentin qui est chauffeur de taxi ( vieux ford 85) le monde le surnomme Le che ou el che ( en reference a cheguevara un argentin de naissance) il est supr cool ce mec. a porlamar il te laisseras et tu devras prendre un taxi a porlamar pour le retour ( les taxi en ville sont climatiser et il ya des tensions entre les chauffeurs de porlamar et les autres...??? le prix est le meme 10$ et pour l'essance je te disait ca pour que tu loue une moped c'est sharp!
et pour la bouffe trouvre toi un pecheur qui te feras du poisson frais du jour pour 1-2 $
l'ile est tres belle montagne et foret sur un cote et desert de l'autre. (si tu fais le jeep tour tu vas faire l'ile presque au complet) il ya cependant beaucoup de barrage routier (papier etc...) et la police est diviser en 5-6 corp different c'est pas rare de les voir se disputer entre eux.. mais nous touriste on a rien a craindre.
la police s'habille en civil pour essayer de vendre de la drogue au touriste (undercover) meme si la pluspart des policier sont corrompu (10-20$ il te laisse aller) il en a q'il le sont moins.
Pour la chaleur tu peux pas avoir mieux t'es loin de cuba et de la rep dom. t'es nettement plus pres de l'equateur!!!
le seul hic c'est que je n'etais pas habituer de voir le soleil se coucher vers 5:30-6:00 pm en ete.
venuzuela il pleut entre 3hrs et 4 hrs et pour le costa tout depant pacifique ou caraibe pacifique 1 mois pas de pluit en janvier 2005 caraibe 1semaine rain forest pleut tout le temps (rain forest) bon voyage

Heureusement le Palm Beach n'étais pas dans mes choix....crois-tu que la mauvaise bouff c'est une question d'hôtel ou de destination dans ton cas!!! Certaines gens mont dit que la bouff étais bonne là bas, mais les goût....ca varient d'un à l'autres....

je te conseil de changer de plage de temps en temps car manzanillo est plus calme et si ke coeur t'en dit il y a JUAN GRIEGO un village de pecheur ( avec le terrain de golf et le hisperia margarita) il ya une plage avec des vague legerte .
il y plein de bateau de peche c'est vraiment beau.
et de lâ, suit la route qui monte vers les montagnes pour voir la baie de juan griego au coucher du soleil... les plus belles photos a vie.( sans blague)
et je me repete trouve toi un chauffeur et prend son numero (on a eu le meme pour la semaine on a fait des heures de route pour payer 50us en tout pour 1 semaine et plus de 300km de route ( horacio . AKA. el che)
Pour les disco si tu commande une biere prend la en bouteille et regarde toujour le type qui te l'ouvre du debut j'usqua la fin... prend pas de boisson dans des verres( rhum& coke etc...) il y a eu des plaintes au sujet de certain touriste qui se sont reveiller en n'ayant aucun souvenir ou pire ils ont ete tres malade apres 1 seule consomation???????????. on a su plus tard par un local que des types mettais de la ??? dans les verres.

la plage est belle le sable est fin (mi-blanc) l'eau est bonne genre(24 degree) plus vert que bleu, mais l'ile est grande et des plage il y en as partout. El yaque dans le sud, elagua nord est, juan griego nord, playa parguito au sud de el agua, manzanillo pres de juan griego. et bien plus .
ne vas pas en ville (PORLAMAR) pour te baigner les plages sont🤪 . laide
les perles sur la plages ( vendeur achalant mais utile) sont environ 5- 10$ le collier et ceux de corail un peu moin cher, mais plus beau. j'en ai acheter plusieurs pour ma copine(15).
pour la bouffe c'est une question d'hotel. j'aurais mieux fait d'aller pecher moi meme et manger que du poisson frais😉

Je suis aller au Costa Rica en janvier 2006, à Puntarenas au Fista Resort. La température est excellente si tu aime la chaleur. Il y fait environ 35 à 38 degrés mais sans humidité. Par contre nous avons rencontrer des gens à l'aéroport qui revenaient de Limon (côté caraibe) et ils ont eu de la pluie 5 jours sur 7. Si tu a d'autres questions pas de problème.

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’ve planned a trip to Asia for the first half of November.
I’ll arrive in Singapore at the start of November for about 3 days, and I’ll leave from Bangkok in mid-November.
In between, I’d like to gradually head north to visit some less touristy islands on the Thai coast.

I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
