J'ai, avec une amie, la possibilité de partir en Inde pour faire du volontariat. Différentes sortes de programmes sont proposés (Enseignement de l'anglais, prévention contre le Sida, etc.) sur deux régions qui sont Dehli et Jaipur.
On s'orienterai plus vers Jaipur, mais comment est la vie sur place ? les occidentaux sont bien accueillis?Je comptais sur votre avis plein d'experience pour nous guider dans notre choix, la durée du voyage serait de 11 semaines. Et on serait loger en pension complète dans une famille de classe moyenne mais concretement cela correspond à quel type d'hebergement ?

Bon, les étrangers sont en général bien accueillis, mais il faut comprendre que c'est à eux je veux dire à nous, de s'adapter.
Un logement dans une famille moyenne ne correspond à rien selon nos critères !
Donc attends-toi à une chambre un peu désuete, sinon spartiate, des draps propres mais gris, une salle de bain individuelle fatiguée, la robinetterie capricieuse, peut-etre quelques cafards, (mais c'est partout, même dans le haut du panier, ça fait partie du folklore, il faut apprendre à vivre avec)
ensuite, beaucoup de sollicitude de la part de tes hotes, qui se mettont sans doute en 4 pour t'accueillir, et c'est ce qui doit compter.
Au début tu peux ressentir de l'indiférence, mais c'est seulement de la discrétion. Alors vas vers eux.
Jaipur est une belle ville, abstraction faite du bruit, poussière, (on est aux portes du désert), les rues encombrées et pas toujours nettes. Oublie tes concepts occidentaux et ouvre-toi à la population rajspoute, si belle, si noble, et généreuse à la fois.
Je ne connais pas l'Inde mais s'il vous reste de la place, je veux bien les coordonnées de l'organisme avec lequel vous partez. 🙂 J'espère organiser ce type de voyage d'ici trois ans maximum, le temps de préparer le budget et d'avoir les congés nécessaires.

I’m a volunteer leader at a youth center (MJC), and we’ve been deeply moved by everything happening in Madagascar—extreme poverty, endangered animals, deforestation, and so on. Plus, one of our teens has a Malagasy friend, so our group wants to travel there next year.
Throughout this year, they’ve planned fundraisers to collect donations (sheets, dish towels, schoolbooks, hygiene products, etc.) and funds to cover their trip and stay.
They’re really motivated and generous—they already volunteer in schools and senior centers, and they’re always welcomed warmly.
But so far, they haven’t found any organizations in Madagascar willing to host them for two weeks (orphanages, schools, animal protection parks, etc.).
Does anyone know of any contacts, please?

Hello, we’d like to travel as a family to Madagascar (2 parents, 2 kids aged 10 and 12). A first trip over 15 years ago completely amazed and moved me with its beauty, kindness, and life experiences—but also its poverty and hardship. That’s why I think it’s possible to introduce our kids to this island while also doing something useful through volunteering. The window is short—15 days in March 2020—which means avoiding the north and east of the island due to cyclones and focusing on the south instead. Some ecovolunteering projects exist online, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive, and kids are rarely accepted. Do you have any ideas or contacts? Thanks in advance!
