je viens d'avoir une réponse d'Airfrance, les places aux issues de secours ne sont délivrés que sur place au dernier moment ainsi que les places face paroi! on ne peu donc réserver a l'avance que des places avec une rangée de fauteuil devant!!!! pas de bol pour les grands!

Les places aux issues de secours ne sont pas affectées au hasard car les personnes choisies doivent pouvoir déverrouiller les issues de secours en cas d'urgence donc on n'y met que les personnes capables physiquement de réagir rapidement.
Le choix est donc fait à l'embarquement quand on peut constater de visu que tu n'es pas grabataire, aveugle, manchot ou sourd et muet 😎
Je viens de voir que le 6 Juin on sera en même temps à Universal studio!
ça y est j'ai enfin pu réserver mes places dans l'avion!! en fait mon vol est sur un avion AirFrance mais en partie opéré par Delta Airlines, il a donc fallu que je réserve sur le site de Delta, j'ai réservé vers le fond de l'avion là ou le couloir est plus large (donc ou je pourrais un peu faire déborder mes grandes pattes) et ou il n'y a que deux places coté hublot (histoire d'être sur de ne pas avoir un compagnon de voyage ronfleur ou malodorant pendant 11h).
Pour avoir la chance d'avoir une place aux issues de secours, il faut arriver dans les premiers à l'enregistrement ou procédé à l'enregistrement sur internet 30h avant le départ (source Delta).
Si les autres places ont un écran, celles-ci aussi. Ils sont "cachés" avec un bras articulé dans les accoudoirs ou sous le siège. Il suffira de demander à l'hotesse si vous ne savez pas comment faire ou ne le trouvez pas.
Au fait tiens moi au courant si tu as des bons plans pour la location de Jet-ski au Lac Powell, j'ai beau faire le tour du net (google et compagnie), je trouve pas grand chose d'intéressant ni de retour d'expérience.
Sur SEATGURU tu peux avoir des infos sur les places , choisis ta compagnie , le numéro de ton vol , et l'horaire pour le type d'avion

C'est bizarre les horaires ne coïncident pas exactement avec ceux donnés par AF. De plus, le plan de l'avion sur SEATGURU (3+3+3 places) ne correspond pas au plan donné par AF pour le même vol à la même heure (3+4+3 places) 😐. J'ai donc pris le seul qui pouvait correspondre.
Comme disais Vazyvite, les places à côté des issues de secours n'ont pas l'air d'être proposées en resa chez AF. Et elles n'apparaissent pas sur les plans.
Pour info, voici les places dispo (+ 2 places sur le pont superieur) sur mes vols.
je serais toi je me fierais plus au site d'AirFrance je suis passé par Delta Airlines qui partage cet avion et le plan est le même qu'AirFrance!

J'ai réservé hier sur le site AirFrance. Le plan des sièges était inaccessible: fenêtre blanche.
Après paiement et attribution d'un n° de réservation, le plan est accessible.
Je ferais bien sur confiance au plan de cabine AIR FRANCE pour la réservation définitive des sièges.

Ce n'est pas figé mais la chose primordiale pour nous est de ne pas abuser avec la route. Nous sommes évidemment conscients que nous allons en "manger" mais faire 1000km en 2 jours... surtout que nous comptons bien profiter de cette nuit à LV 😎.
En rédigeant ce post, je me rend compte qu'une nuit de moins à LV (en J19) permettrait d'en rajouter une finalement à Bryce 🤪 et donc arriver à la DV en fin d'AM. Sachant que DV en plein après midi... Vos avis?
A ce propos, je regarde les hôtels à LV et c'est pas franchement si bon marché que ça... je pense que ça a pas mal augmenté car difficile de trouver à moins de 150€/nuit pour 6 sur le strip (excepté stratosphère, circus et autres Excalibur). J'ai pensé au Mirage, au NY NY (trop loin?), au Harrah's, au planet Hollywood et au Flamingo?
Sinon j'imaginais ceci:

Tout est prevu : Vs lauissez vos bagages au lobby, il y a une salle rservée, et vs les reprenez en partant. Dans certains hotels, c'est gratuit, dans d'autres, coimme à LV, c'est payant.

Itat a raison, c'est une perte de temps de changer d'hôtel (rien que le check-in à la Stratosphère nous a pris près d'une heure) et c'est appréciable de se poser parfois 2 nuit au même endroit lors de voyages itinérants.

Ça ne me gêne pas d'être de ce côté mais ça fait une trotte jusqu'à la zone "bellagio" qui me parait (surement à tort) être le "centre" des activités. En même temps, nous irons jusque là (NY) donc la marche sera identique.

Les prix sont tellement fluctuants à Vegas, que c'est vrai un mercredi début décembre et faux un samedi début juillet !
Ensuite, d'un point de vue anecdotique, il y a aussi ce que l'on met derrière le mot "palace", à Vegas des palaces classés ainsi "Five Diamond" par l'AAA ne sont pas légions:

Le Flamingo est un excellent rapport qualité prix et super bien placé! Le Nord est effectivement completement desert ( au dela du Wynn, bof bof... eventuellement un tour sur la stratosphere..).

Exact! En y réfléchissant, j'imagine donc maintenant 2 nuits à l'impérial Palace (150€ en tout) à l'aller et une nuit au golden Nugget à Fremont au retour (110€) ce qui est relativement bon marché. Ca permettra de bien profiter du "milieu" du strip et du old Vegas et de la strato (manèges 😛).

Vraiment sympa celui là! Un peu au dessus de notre budget mais je vais suivre ça de prêt.
Arrivé en haut de la Stratosphère (+ 300 m), tu peux sauter dans le vide accroché à un treuil (photo 2). Coup de frein (en principe 🤪) à 10 m de l'impact. Photo 3, manège dans le vide (bien évidemment), et photo 4 la fusée qui plonge mais s'arrête juste avant le décrochage 🏴☠️.
La projection à G4 sur la grande flèche ne fonctionne pas en cas d'orage (ouf).
Moi, je regarde seulement 😊.
En 2009, ns sommes allés au MIRAGE : la nuit etait vers 60$.
C'est peut etre trop tot pour beneficier ds romos de juin? Ou alors vs y allez un jour ou une semaine ou il y a quelque chose de particulier?
Mais, autrement à part le fait de se payer une chambre de "Palace" tres clinquante, je ne vois guere d'interet à aller dans ces grands hotels du strip. : tout est payant, il y a plein de monde, on fait des kilometres dans les couloirs avec ses bagages, il y a un monde fou au lobby...

Si je retourne à LV, j'irais dans un motel normal, même si eloigné des casinos. Je prendrais ma voiture pour me stationner dans n'importe quel parking d'un casino..

Effectivement, ça a l'air chouette! 100$ tout de même. C'est une chute libre contrôlée (65km/h). Dommage, la sensation de chute est freinée (contrairement au saut à l'élastique). Si ça avait été moins cher, je l'aurais surement fait 🙁
Comme l'a dit Dusty, la chute est contrôlée, tant la vitesse que la direction. Coulissant entre 2 câbles parallèles, l'individu en chute ne risque pas de se cogner contre la tour 🤪🏴☠️. Sur l'un des câbles, une petite caméra retransmet tes émotions sur une chaîne de l'hôtel, visible par tous les clients 😊 (bon, l'image n'est pas terrible).

C'est le premier que j'avais repéré mais malheureusement, j'ai l'impression qu'il n'y a pas de suites pour 6 la nuit du 7 au 8 juin 2011. C'est vrai qu'il est très bien noté sur tripadvisor mais un poil trop excentré. C'est pour ça que mon choix s'est plutôt penché vers l'Imperial Palace: 25€ la chambre de 2 et par nuit. J'ai difficilement trouvé meilleur marché et si bien placé sur le strip.
Mais mon choix n'est pas arrêté et je pense que pour Vegas, on risque pas de manquer de chambre si on s'y prend plus tard 😉. Nos 2 principaux critères sont le prix et l'emplacement. Pour le second passage à LV, nous avons choisi le Golden Nugget avec une quasi-certitude (~110~€/nuit).
En même temps, comme disais jpg13 il y à peu, l'idée de payer moins cher, d'être au calme et excentré, de prendre la voiture et de se garer sur n'importe quel parking de casino est bonne. Mais pour un premier voyage à LV... je sais pas 🙂.
Le soir de notre arrivée nous étions au Bills Gamblin (200 chambres seulement et le check in est près de l'entrée). C'est en face du Bellagio et à côté du Caesar ! et 75$ le samedi 03 août 2009...(pour 3 personnes).
à la fin le Golden Nuggets (très bien) le mardi 25 août 2009 à 88$, puis le génial spectacle de Fremont Street (à 20h00/21h00/22h00/23h00 Queen et l'année 1969...).
En Californie, il n'y a pas de pénalité si vous rendez la voiture dans un point différent de celui de la location. Deux jours suffisent pour faire la côte. Je vous suggère de passer une journée au nord de SF (aller par les vignobles de Nappa valley et retour par une côte très "bretonne" avec ses colonies de phoques et loups de mer....).

Vraiment pas mal celui là aussi! Encore mieux placé, mieux noté et à peine plus cher (204€ pour 3 chambres de 2). Par contre il me semble qu'il n'a pas de piscine mais je vois des photos de la piscine du Flamingo ici.

C'est pas vraiment compatible avec notre circuit sur la fin: Yosemite>San Luis Obispo>SF par la côte. Nous ne voulons pas faire plus de km. A moins que tu me suggère de faire la côte nord de SF et pas la sud?

Comme on avait gardé la voiture à SFO, (je dis ca pour tous ceux qui disent qu'il n'y en a pas besoin😏) on a été faire un tour sur la cote Nord.
C'est vrai que c'est beaucoup plus authentique que la cote sud. beaucoup moins touristique, tres nature.

Nous étions côté route (voir photos ci-dessous) avec vue sur la Tour Eiffel...et les fontaines du Bellagio.
C'était notre première nuit (arrivée à 21h30 et 40°C puis balade sur le Strip), donc malgré les sirènes des ambulances, la police (mais ça c'est tout le long du Strip...), nous avons quand même bien dormi !!!
OK Las Vegas c'est "animé" et bruyant.
Nous n'avons pas subi le "bruit intérieur" des autres locataires !

Hi fellow travelers, do you think there’s a real benefit to spending 2-3 days in Yosemite when I’ll already be spending a week in Banff and Jasper in the Canadian Rockies? Won’t it feel a bit redundant? I’m asking because Yosemite is expensive (I’d go with an agency from SF, staying in a cabin, since I’ll be solo and without a car) and apparently packed.

After that, we’re heading to Sherbrooke to visit our daughter, who’s studying at the university there. We’ll spend 3 days with her, and then, since she has a break that week, we’re taking her along for 3 days in Quebec City.
We’ve planned to visit Montmorency Falls and Île d'Orléans.
I’d love to hear what route you’d recommend for the drive from Sherbrooke to Quebec City—we’ll have the whole day to take it easy.

Classic itinerary: arrival in Calgary, Banff, Jasper, Clearwater, Whistler, Vancouver Island, departure from Vancouver.
I know you can’t see into the future any better than I can, so I’m obviously not asking what the wildfire situation will be like in a month...
But if any of you could let me know if, CURRENTLY, there are major difficulties—not just for locals, of course, but for tourists as well?
We’re hesitating between taking the chance or canceling what we still can.

A friend is renting a car for an upcoming trip during the All Saints' holiday.
Nowadays, all rental cars come with GPS, but do you know if you can use it without paying for the GPS rental? I have no idea since I always use my own!
After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Travelers to the United States | Photo Now Mandatory Upon Entry and Exit | La Presse
I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!
