Hi everyone, I’d love to hear about your experiences traveling by plane with a 7.5-month-old baby to Martinique from Paris. Also, if anyone has direct contacts for reasonable and baby-friendly accommodation—whether in the north or south of the island—I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance to those who reply!😊

Hello, Your message is a bit old, so you’ve probably already gotten the info. But just in case! For traveling with a baby, there’s nothing special to report. My daughter was 5.5 months old during her first trip from Paris to Fort-de-France. We flew with Air France and reserved the baby bassinet—super handy, especially for the return trip (overnight flight). Otherwise, the baby stays on your lap, and you keep them occupied when they’re not sleeping. Takeoff and landing can hurt their ears, so it’s best to give them a bottle (or breastfeed, depending on your preference) at those times to help with the discomfort (swallowing helps). Otherwise, they might cry a bit (especially during descent) because their ears hurt, and they don’t know how to handle it like an adult would. But it doesn’t last long, and there’s no need to panic. The staff is very kind and has resources (small pot, milk, diapers) if you forget something. I actually forgot to bring diapers for the return flight—it happens —and they had some.

For accommodation, I still recommend using a reliable site, and if you’re dealing with a direct contact, make sure they’re trustworthy. There’s also a very active and serious Facebook group called "Voyage en Martinique." You can join and ask your questions there. But in any case, don’t book a place by paying in advance without verifying the reliability of the contact first, especially if you’re dealing directly with someone. On that Facebook group, a few people have reported being scammed by so-called owners renting out nonexistent or unsanitary properties. This isn’t specific to Martinique—scams are a global issue, and they often target people looking for "great deals" by offering cheap accommodations that seem too good to be true. Be realistic about prices; if it seems too good to be true, there’s probably a catch.

Have a great trip!!!

Hi. I want to warn you about mosquito bites. They’re really unpleasant.
