Tourist attractions

Intérêts (rated ): Nature ; Adventure ; Culture ; Relaxation-holidays

La Palma is far from being the most visited island in the archipelago; its slightly off-centre location, the lack of historical heritage, and especially the limited beach areas compared to most other islands may explain this limited appeal among the general public. In fact, exploring the island is usually a quieter experience, away from the crowds. That said, La Palma still boasts some beautiful landscapes that will delight nature lovers for at least two or three days.

Cultural heritage

La Palma has very few visible traces of its history. Local culture and traditions are more likely to be discovered during the few festivals or events held on the island.

Beaches and coastline

The beach tourism industry is underdeveloped in La Palma. There are just a few black sand beaches and tourist facilities, such as those near Puerto Naos.

Nature and activities

This is the island’s main attraction, with a beautiful setting and two key sites: the volcano Cumbre Vieja and the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, both ideal for hiking.
