Climate and Weather in Palma de Mallorca
Location Map of Palma de Mallorca
Climate Overview
The city has a typical Mediterranean climate with dry, hot summers. Even though average summer temperatures hover around 30°C, the proximity to the sea significantly mitigates the heat compared to, for example, inland Spain. Winters are mild and pleasant, with temperatures often around 15°C. Rainfall is scarce, except for a little at the end and beginning of the year, and winds are more common from October to April.
Best Climate Period for Palma de Mallorca
The period from May to early October is the best climatically for exploring Mallorca and the Balearic Islands. That said, despite the good weather, July and August do have the major drawback of being extremely crowded. For those seeking mild winter sun, the area is also quite pleasant in winter compared to the rest of Europe.
