Entry Requirements and Visa for Argentina

For French Citizens

For tourist travel, no visa is required for stays of up to 3 months in the country. Only a passport valid for at least the planned duration of your stay is necessary.

Other Nationalities

The same applies to Swiss, Canadian, European Union nationals, and a few other nationalities.

Long Stays

Unless you opt for a resident visa, "digital nomad," "Working Holiday," or other statuses that at best require proof of financial means, you can also simply request a (paid) extension of your stay for an additional 90 days at the Immigration Office in Buenos Aires.

Alternatively, there’s what’s known as a "Visa Run," which involves leaving the country at the end of your authorized stay before re-entering to "reset the clock." However, while this practice is tolerated, it is not a right. This means that each time, you risk being denied re-entry by authorities with no recourse.

In Case of Violation

Even though local legislation is relatively lenient compared to many other countries, you may still face a fine upon departure—or, for more significant overstays, deportation along with a re-entry ban.
