A passport valid for at least 6 months after the planned return date and a visa are required to enter the country. The visa must be an e-visa, valid for 6 months, and is typically issued within a day via the official authorities' website. Expect to pay $50 for a 3-month single-entry visa, $100 for a 6-month or 1-year multiple-entry visa.

"East African Tourist Visa"
Those wishing to visit Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda (but unfortunately not Tanzania) can benefit from a single visa. Called the "East African Tourist Visa," it is priced at $100. Valid for 90 days (non-renewable), it allows unlimited entries into the three countries. This visa can be obtained from the consulates of the countries involved, as well as on the official Ugandan authorities' website and the official Rwandan authorities' website.
