Flying to Andalusia
Location Map of Andalusia
General Information
Alongside Malaga, the fourth busiest airport in Spain with over 12.5 million passengers per year, Andalusia offers a direct gateway for tourists from across Europe. Beyond a few scheduled flights, the airport primarily handles a large number of low-cost and seasonal charter flights, which are a hallmark of the region’s air travel. Other Andalusian airports in the area, such as Almeria, Cadiz, Granada, and Seville, play a smaller role.
Types of Flights
Charters, Scheduled, and Low-Cost Flights
As a major destination, Andalusia has a long-standing tradition of holiday flights, now complemented—as everywhere in Europe—by a growing low-cost sector.
Promotions and Special Offers
Like any tourist destination served by charters or low-cost airlines, promotions and special offers are plentiful. Check with airlines or travel agencies, as some packages may include additional services alongside airfare.

Choosing Your Flight
Given the relatively broad range of options and price points for this destination, the first priority is to opt for direct flights where they exist. These generally offer the best balance of quality, duration, and price, unlike some connections that can take nearly half a day to reach the destination. Since Andalusia is a destination with frequent promotions and special offers, particularly from low-cost carriers, it’s worth exploring opportunities on both airline and travel agency websites. Additionally, some offers include customizable services (hotel, car, etc.) or all-inclusive packages, so comparing these can be useful.
From the Rest of Europe
Nearly all of Europe offers at least seasonal flights to Malaga or, occasionally, other regional airports. In short, finding a flight in season is rarely an issue, no matter where you’re based in Europe.
