Having your own vehicle is an excellent way to explore this part of the country. It’s even the best option thanks to the freedom and time saved compared to public transport.

Train travel in the peninsula is limited to arriving in Corinth from Athens. The line that once continued to Patras from Athens is now closed. However, there is a short line (22 km) with a purely tourist purpose running between Diakofto and Kalavryta (between Patras and Corinth).

What to Choose for Getting Around?
The Peloponnese is a large peninsula with many points of interest spread across different locations, so it’s best to be self-sufficient when it comes to transport. Renting a car will save time and offer freedom. Otherwise, buses can be a good option for those looking to save money and have plenty of time.
