Majorca's Climate and Weather
FR

Climate Overview

Majorca and the Balearic Islands enjoy a Mediterranean climate, much like the rest of Spain’s eastern coastline, with hot, dry summers. While average summer temperatures hover around 30°C, the proximity of the sea or higher altitudes significantly softens the heat compared to, for example, inland continental Spain. Winters are mild and pleasant, with coastal temperatures often around 15°C. Rainfall is scarce, except for a little at the turn of the year, and wind is most common between October and April.

Best Climate Period

The stretch from May to early October is climatically the best time to explore Majorca and the Balearic Islands. That said, despite the fine weather, July and August do come with the major drawback of being extremely crowded. For those seeking winter warmth and sunshine, the area is also quite pleasant in winter compared to the rest of Europe.
