Malta is one of the most Catholic countries in Europe, with around 95% of the population identifying as such. The Church has long played a significant role in the country, particularly on social issues (marriage, divorce, abortion, etc.). For this reason, it’s a good idea to dress appropriately when visiting places of worship, with shoulders covered and no shorts.
