Nature-Adventure
A good part of the coastline and the southern region of Mauritius offer quite beautiful nature and pleasant landscapes. However, Mauritius is not an adventure destination at all.
Culture
Mauritius is a country where different races and religions blend. This is what creates the Mauritian identity, which can be discovered in everyday life or during festivals and celebrations. Beyond the people you meet, the island also has several interesting religious sites, foremost among them Ganga Talao, an important Hindu pilgrimage center, as well as a few small museums.
Relaxation-Holidays
This is the (very) strong point of the destination...
Independent Travel
Mauritius is a very easy destination for independent travel. It’s ideal for beginner travelers thanks to good infrastructure (transport, accommodations), some language ease, and very low risks.
Organized Travel (and Honeymoons)
Mauritius is a "classic" in the programs of many French tour operators. That said, the destination is almost exclusively offered as package stays (flight + hotel), mainly on the north coast, which hosts many large hotel complexes. It’s also widely promoted for honeymoons and even weddings.
How to Get Married in Mauritius?
All-Inclusive

All-inclusive has long been a specialty of Mauritian tourism. The country has many high-end establishments with the facilities and services that come with this model. Most remain affordable as all-inclusive packages, but are overpriced if you only book one or two nights, especially in season. Grand Baie and its surroundings are the main all-inclusive zone.
