UNESCO World Heritage

Vieille ville de Corfou, Corfou, Grèce
Old Town of Corfu
The blend of Venetian architecture with various other styles gives the fortified historic centre of Corfu Town a distinct charm, earning it a UNESCO listing.

Cities and Cultural Heritage

Achilleion
This magnificent neoclassical palace was built in 1889–91 in honour of the Homeric hero Achilles by Empress "Sissi" (Elisabeth of Austria). After serving various purposes (hospital, barracks, casino), it is now a palace-museum (dedicated in part to Sissi) that can be visited, along with its lovely gardens adorned with numerous statues.
Angelokastro
These are the remains of an ancient Byzantine fortress, one of the most important in Greece, located in the northwest of the island. It towers more than 300 metres above the sea and offers a lovely viewpoint.
Musée d'art asiatique, Corfou, Grèce
Corfu
It is the capital of the island of the same name and a busy port. The town (also called Kérkyra) is notable for its beautiful historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring the Citadel, several churches, and the archaeological museum.
Kinopiastes
This small village in the center of the island still has many traditional old houses along narrow streets, a marble church, a 17th-century monastery, and the Olive Museum.
Lefkimmi
It's the second-largest town on the island, in the south. It's both a seaside resort with old quarters and a ferry port.
Vlacherna Monastery
This monastery occupies a small islet (just next to the airport) connected to the mainland by a causeway. It’s especially photogenic (and often crowded in season). Right next to it, the small island of Pontikonissi can be visited on an excursion.

Natural Heritage

Corfu Aquarium
It is located on the hill of Paleokastritsa, below the eponymous monastery. It showcases the marine life and reptiles of the region.
Paleokastritsa Bay
One of the most beautiful bays on the island and even in Greece, where the blue of the sea blends with the green of the hills. All around, you’ll find beaches, coves, sea caves, other lovely viewpoints (such as Bella Vista), and several seaside resorts of varying sizes—with Paleokastritsa being the most popular.
Cape Drastis
Located in the northwest of the island, Cape Drastis is a mix of small beaches, sea caves, and cliffs that can also be explored from the sea during boat excursions.
Kaiser Throne
This is a promontory at the top of the picturesque village of Pelekas, offering a 360° panorama of the island. The spot is called Kaiser in reference to German Emperor Wilhelm II, who used to come here during his holidays in Corfu.
Mount Pantokrator
At 906 metres, this is the highest point on the island of Corfu. From its summit, where an abandoned monastery stands, there is a stunning panorama stretching to the Albanian and mainland Greek coasts. Several villages to visit in the surrounding area.
Beaches of Corfu
Corfu offers a wide range of beaches and seaside resorts, making it one of its key tourist draws. Among the resorts: Arillas (quiet with minimal infrastructure), Kassiopi (one of the main ones), Kavos (for its lively vibe), Paleokastritsa (famous for its bay and scenery), Sidari (popular and bustling), and more.
