UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Suriname has two sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list:

Historic Centre of Paramaribo (2002)
The centre of Suriname's capital uniquely blends local materials and craftsmanship with European construction techniques from its origins. This is what earned it UNESCO World Heritage status.
Central Suriname Nature Reserve (2000)
This vast area of tropical forest in the east-central region is a UNESCO World Heritage site and encompasses several reserves (Raleighvallen, Kabalebo, De Haan, Tafelberg). You can hike, observe wildlife (birds, monkeys...), fish, or navigate the rivers.
