Finding the best time to visit means balancing climate conditions with crowd levels and the most attractive prices for travel and on-site expenses.
Climatically, the period from late June (after the rains) to September is ideal for exploring the country, even though summers can be quite hot and popular spots like the capital or Lake Balaton may be crowded. In short, while late August to September is the perfect time, the (relatively) good visiting season can start as early as May, despite the possibility of heavy rains during that month.
