Good evening

*** Rouquine 38 No. 2: perfection ** Rouquine 38 No. 3: I know it well. It's really hard to get a flat sea with that little chop * Girardinpho No. 3: the colors, the soft shapes

If I’d listened to myself, I would’ve given Rouquine 38 one point for its giraffe, but you’ve gotta give others a chance ;)
KA Kate Globetrotter ·
Hi everyone, here’s my vote (revised three times!)

Rouquine38, photo 3, 3 points. It’s technical, it’s sensitive, it’s poetic. And that little detail that makes all the difference—giving scale and bringing the scene to life with a sense of solitude: that tiny figure.

Girardinfo, photo 2, 2 points. An image that doesn’t leave you indifferent as you try to figure it out: where’s the reality, where’s the reflection, and where was the photographer standing?

UnaMilanese, photo 3, 1 point. A delicate watercolor that invites daydreaming (I could’ve given this point to UnaMilanese’s photo 2 instead).

Nothing but reflections, or almost.

Herodotos photo 2 -> 🙂🙂🙂 UnaMilanese photo 2 -> 🙂🙂 Kate photo 2 -> 🙂

I also really liked: Montagnard74 photo 1, Herodotos photo 1, Timouss photo 2, Rouquine38 photo 3, but I went with nothing but reflections, or almost, so...

MO Montagnard74 Globetrotter ·
Here’s a contest where everyone could see themselves in a mirror! My votes:

Girardinpho #photo1: 😎😎😎 This former avatar caught my eye for a long time, and it perfectly and originally sums up the theme.

Rouquine #photo 3: 😎😎 Everything’s there—the framing, the light, the subject, and the scale. Pure Isabelle, and I’m (not the only) fan!

Herodotos #photo 1: 😎 Because the photo is gorgeous and out of pure Haute-Savoie chauvinism. 😉

I could’ve also voted for Kate#3, the originality of the kaleidoscope; Raga#1, the child’s reflection; Pboulard#2, because I loved that show in Siem Reap; or Timouss#2 for the perfect symmetry of lines and colors in his boat... Thanks to Herodote for hosting the slideshow.

Here are the results of May’s contest: Reflections A big thank you to Michel (Herodotos) for the slideshow and tallying up the scores 👍

First place goes to photo 2, Kate’s ball shot, with a score of 15 points. Congrats—it’s really a photo I’d love to take myself 😊

Girardonpho’s photo 1, "The Lion’s Eye," is right behind with 14 points.

Third place goes again to Kate with her photo 3 of Tokyo, scoring 13 points.

The scores were really close, but the big winner is Kate—two photos on the podium! Bravo, Kate, for these stunning shots. Well done, Nathalie, on your second place.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this contest 👍

Kate, the floor is yours for June—your turn to host! 😄

Now *that’s* what I call "crushing a contest"—congrats to Kate on this win!

The tiger’s eye put up a good fight, but the *boule biterroise* was the strongest!

Big thanks to Rouquine, who even got up at 2 a.m. to post the results ;), that’s what I call dedication! And for hosting this contest perfectly.

Now let’s see what June has in store…

Hey Bruno, Still up—it’s midnight for us 👋—we just got back from the sunset 😊, which, in the end, didn’t actually set. So now you’re waiting for the sunrise… what a puzzle this is 😄

Hello Isabelle, hello everyone!

Thank you for this perfectly run contest, and thanks to all of you for your choice. I’m thrilled about this win because this particular photo gave me a bit of trouble, unlike the other two, which weren’t difficult at all—you just had to be in the right place. Glass ball in my pocket (it’s the size of a pétanque ball) and Nikon around my neck, a few days before lockdown, I went out to capture the image I had imagined. The village of Minerve and its surroundings are so inspiring that the ball rolled around before giving me the reflection I wanted. I could have submitted this one instead.

I told myself that if I ever won our little contest, I’d try to propose something a bit new—a concept that, in its form, had never been explored before. A theme where the narrative would take center stage... It’s risky but not uninteresting. In any case, it’ll be a change, and I trust you all!

See you very soon! 😉

Hey Bruno, Still not in bed—midnight for us 👋—we just got back from the sunset 😊 which, in the end, doesn’t set. So now you’re waiting for sunrise… what a puzzle this is 😄

If you wake up when the sun sets but go to bed when it rises, which one’s the sunset and which one’s the sunrise? 🤪

If the ball has rolled its hump, then all is well! 😄 At the same time, Minerve as a backdrop offers some interesting perspectives! A contest where the narrative counts—that’s what I like (and I know others who feel the same 😉)!! I can’t wait 😄
