Hi there! Thanks again for this great discovery—you got an amazing price! When did you book, and did you maybe use a credit you had?

Hi Catherine, Thanks for this lovely travel journal full of beautiful photos and for introducing us to Princess Cruises. Maybe I’ll give it a try one day with a nice itinerary… we’ll see! Mich74

Hi Catherine, thanks for this review. I think the gratuities were already paid to the agency, because 2,400 € isn’t cheap. The main thing is that you enjoyed your cruise. I’ll post a quick review of mine on the REGAL PRINCESS ;)

Hi Marie-Christine, I booked just under a year in advance (in September for June, if I remember correctly), because the price really caught my eye. It was a chance to give Princess another try. I didn’t use the credit, which was only valid for a few months, and that was eleven years ago. 😉

Hi Isa,

Nowhere did it say that the gratuities were prepaid, and they don’t appear on the bill. How much do you pay for a 16-night cruise in Northern Europe? Looking forward to your review! ;)

Right now at Croisiland, the same cruise is at 3500 € for a balcony cabin 😠

Thanks, Marie-Christine, for this info.

For the cabin category we chose with a large balcony (BD), it’s even 3,978 €. And in 2026, this cruise only lasts 15 days/14 nights, whereas ours was 17 days/16 nights. 🤪 It also specifies that onboard service fees aren’t included, but like the previous days, I can’t download the screenshot. 😠

Hi Catherine, With Princess, gratuities aren’t free! So either you pay when booking, or it’s a promo and they’re included at reservation, or you pay them on board... If there was a glitch, lucky you! 😉

Prices change all the time and vary a lot from one country to another—it’s really complicated. I bet the 3500 € for next year will drop; in my opinion, it’s not worth it for two weeks on Princess. Have a good evening

A huge thank you, Catherine, for this awesome review. As always, it was really nice following along.

Personally, I don’t think it’s expensive at all for 16 days, but it’s true that Isa often manages to find great deals.

Princess offers good value for money.

Hi Catherine,

I’ve been following your review from the start but only just managed to leave you a message 😠😠 Norway cruises are my favorite for the ports of call, but especially for sailing through the fjords.

Maybe see you on a ship soon. Best regards, Claudine
4Y 4yne Globetrotter ·
Hi Claudine, Thanks for your message—I’m so happy to hear from you! Sailing through the fjords was one of my favorite moments during this cruise. It would be lovely to meet up again on a boat someday. 🙂

Thanks for this report—it reminded me of my Costa cruise all the way to the North Cape. Norway is addictive, even with the chill of those "Nordic" folks. Personally, the cold didn’t bother me much (probably my wild nature). I’m in awe of your climb up to TROMSØ—if I’d had to walk to the funicular, I don’t think I would’ve made the hike if it was down for maintenance (that’s a serious elevation gain!!!). I don’t think you were talking about me when you mentioned the "coucous," but these days it’s easy to remove them (I got into photography, and in Lightroom Classic it’s child’s play to edit them out). Still, I can’t believe how much I used to rant about them in my trip reports! I haven’t been active on this forum since it rebooted, but it’s nice to read a few updates! Fair winds to you (but not *too* fair!)
4Y 4yne Globetrotter ·
Hi Sylvie,

Of course it was you I was thinking of when I mentioned the cuckoos! It was so funny, and I really enjoyed your trip reports. It’s definitely much easier to get rid of them now. It’s up to you to keep coming here, even if the activity isn’t as intense—there are still some great trip reports to read from time to time.

Wishing you all the best too, and happy cruising! !

Hi there! !😉 Oh, that’s so kind of you! I also really loved reading your trip reports—they were always honest and insightful. Since COVID, I haven’t done many cruises. For one, I’ve gotten more serious about photography, so I prefer photo workshops over cruises now. For two, I used to stay loyal to Costa because of their loyalty card, which let me invite my family into a suite or grand suite for the price of an outside cabin. But their limited itineraries—and especially the end of that amazing perk—put an end to my loyalty. Plus, my finances aren’t as flexible as they used to be… Anyway, I’m heading on the *Toscana* in October, invited by my mom for my birthday. But at 80 and with limited mobility, she won’t be hiking around, so it’ll be a chill cruise—cozy and relaxing—one last time before what might be a long break (you never know, though!). I’ve posted some trip reports in a Facebook group, but it’s not the same as what we had here before. Anyway, thanks for your feedback—it doesn’t make me want to try Princess Cruises, but maybe see you around someday! If you’re into photography, photo workshops are just amazing!!!
4Y 4yne Globetrotter ·
Hi Sylvie,

Even though it’ll be different, it’s really sweet of your mom to invite you on a cruise.

The photo would’ve tempted me a few years ago, but my artistic side comes out through watercolors, which is just as exciting and really good for me. I’d stopped 20 years ago and only started again gently last year.

Looking forward to hearing from you again if you ever feel like it 😉—it was really nice to hear from you. 🙂

Hi Catherine!

I'm back after a few weeks away—I was on vacation and then swamped with work.

At last, I’ve caught up on my reading!

Overall, I see you’re really happy with this cruise, and that’s what matters most!

I’m not familiar with this destination since I prefer the sun. Still, thanks to you, I had a fantastic virtual trip through your story and gorgeous photos.

Thanks again for sharing, and see you soon for the next cruise—which will be totally different (in every sense of the word)!
