Hi,

For car rental with Medloc, are they pretty reliable? How much does it cost per day for a small car for two people? Do you have a contact or a website? You can write here or DM me. Thanks for the info. Best, Davmax

Medloc has always met our expectations since we’ve been renting our car from him—going on about twenty years now. Let’s hope it keeps up! He has a website with the different car types and rates based on rental duration. After that, don’t hesitate to negotiate, especially if it’s during the low season.
HA Hannahannah Globetrotter ·
I’d say the same as Daniel—Medloc is very reliable. For off-season prices, it’s possible to negotiate. Ask for a quote on their website, and you’ll get a quick response. A deposit of 1,000 € will be required, and with your credit card, it’s just a temporary hold that’ll be released as soon as you return the car.

I'm happy with it too: cars in good condition, staff on time, not too fussy when we returned the car.

Hi everyone,

I contacted them and got an immediate response. Thanks for your help. Best regards, Davmax

They’re usually very responsive.

We rented a car from Medloc for our 3 trips to Morocco, and we’re thinking of them for the next one.
JE Jeeaan Globetrotter ·
So when’s this next trip happening?
DD Dd44 Veteran ·
Nothing planned yet. But we're thinking about it.
AX Axelfl Regular ·
When we think about it, we're already almost on our way.

We plan and travel "in our heads." 😄😄😄

Hi there,

I’d planned to head to Morocco, but with the current situation, flights from Europe to Morocco have been canceled. I hope your trip to Marrakech isn’t affected! :)
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
A lot of travel plans are being postponed, inevitably... But we’re hoping to return to Morocco as soon as things get better. It’ll definitely take some time.
SO Songhai73 Globetrotter ·
hi there planned for me and some friends in October! if corona allows it! ;) france

For us, it’ll be October too, if we can, of course.
HA Hannahannah Globetrotter ·
I’d love to believe you all, but I’ve got a little negative side that’s creeping in... If it’s possible, let’s all meet up and have a great party. Best to everyone.

We’ll swim in the pool at L’Arganier with champagne and your foie gras 😉

And some Monbazillac, one or the other? Meh, both, but champagne first for the aperitif and Monbazillac with the foie gras 😁😁

And some Monbazillac, one or the other Meh, both but champagne first as an aperitif and Monbazillac with the foie gras 😋😋

If I make it out of this mess unscathed, a bit of Périgord pâté will do. A glass of Cahors? Why not?
LA Lagardevicto Veteran ·
I have both at home

Last time, it was in Nontron... The chef was really generous... a thick steak!

Hope you came back with a whole set of kitchen utensils and other wooden-handled goodies!

Great idea! I’m thinking of going in early October! I’m feeling positive! Hang in there, everyone—Darzel’s beautiful travel journal is such a mood-lifter! francia

Now that’s some optimistic plans! Bravissimo!
SO Songhai73 Globetrotter ·
hi Michelle, I’m both realistic and optimistic at the same time! I make plans—they’re already little travel moments—and when they work out, that’s great, and when they don’t, oh well! This winter, I’d planned to go back to Senegal, but a slightly wonky knee 😉 got in the way... so I kept the budget for my beloved Morocco! If all goes well, I’ll be there with some friends in early October—if life lets me! I’d love for us to arrange a little VoyageForum meet-up near Agadir, since that’ll be our arrival and departure base! I’m throwing the idea out there! Best, francia

Hi Francia,

I’d love to see you again too, but Agadir isn’t doable for me (it’s too far out of the way). Maybe another time, somewhere closer to home.

Cheers.
SO Songhai73 Globetrotter ·
Hi Martine! Given the context, I’m not making too many short-term plans... but I’m still waiting two more years until my sister retires, and if fate grants me life, I’ll spend several months in Morocco! And I definitely won’t miss the chance to visit your desert! Hope you’re doing well! Cheers, francia

We’re still hoping for this autumn. We never go in the summer—it’s too hot for us. But for Morocco, it’d be great if things could kick off for the summer.

But for Morocco, it would be great if it could start by summer.

They’re talking about early July...
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
Great news! I wasn’t really counting on it for July, but it’s really happening!

Good news! I wasn’t too hopeful for July, but it’s really happening!

The two big low-cost airlines serving Marrakech have opened bookings. Ryanair is showing one flight per week starting July 1st and two weekly flights for August. EasyJet starts its flights in early August. My July 2nd flight on EasyJet isn’t canceled but is fully booked. Go figure!! So, none of these scenarios are reassuring.

It's tough to make plans in the near future... Everything could change or even be canceled... It's complicated.

There’s a new possibility of flights resuming from Marrakech, though we should still be cautious. Ryanair is showing one flight per week to Germany (Baden-Württemberg) this month, and two weekly flights after that, just like before. EasyJet, for its part, indicates the possibility of flights resuming to Basel at the end of June—but they’re already showing as fully booked. Two weekly flights at the end of June, then three in July, four in August, and up to seven weekly flights in October and November. My flight on July 2nd seems to be still on. I managed to check in and got a seat number. Flights to France might have to wait, I think. Ryanair is showing a flight to Dole in two months. Here in Morocco, there’s no information about when flights will resume. I think it’s very possible that the two low-cost giants got the green light from Moroccan authorities to start up again. The changes on their websites are from yesterday, so it might actually be true 😏

The attic in question hasn't been open to the public since the earthquake. Safety is no longer sufficient to welcome visitors.
JE Jeeaan Globetrotter ·
Totally agree. I went there in the spring and it was closed. No construction seemed to be underway.
