Depuis des années je me pose des questions quant à une éventuelle action humanitaire et depuis un petit bout de temps j'aimerais que cette intention se concrétise. J'ai lu plusieurs de vos discussions et certains commentaires qui en resortent me font bien prendre conscience de l'ampleur d'un tel projet qu'il ne faut pas prendre à la légère. On ne s'improvise pas volontaire!
J'ai aujourd'hui 27 ans et ai passé le cap de l'idéalisme qui nous habite en tant qu'adolescent. Mon but est loin de faire du volontariat touristique comme vous dites. Aider mon prochain est ancré en moi depuis toujours et j'ai déjà participé à certains projets de pleine pour enfants défavorisés ou animation en centre pour primo-arrivants dans mon pays par exemple.
Mais maintenant, je voudrais passer à une prochaine étape et me rendre utile au jour le jour à l'étranger là où je sais qu'il y a un manque criant de mains, de temps et de moyens... Mais évidemment, je ne peux le faire au dépend de ma propre vie. Comme certains le soulignaient: comment réorganiser sa vie dans son pays après un an d'aide humanitaire où on a dépensé jusqu'à son dernier cent...? Il faut y penser! Cette vision n'est pas égoïste mais réaliste. A partir du moment où l'on décide de partir pour plusieurs années et d'aider son prochain, il est aussi normal de penser à son propre futur et à son retour.
Comme proposé par certains, je voudrais alors plutôt rejoindre une association qui engagerait des volontaires. Je ne compte pas, sur place, gagner de l'argent vu que mon but premier est d'offrir mon temps et mes mains durant une période (un an ou plus) mais je ne veux pas hypotéquer ma vie future ici après. Je recherche donc une ONG qui m'offrirait un toit et de quoi pouvoir me nourir au jour le jour. Il va de soi que je payerais mon voyage... Voilà pour mon idée.
En ce qui concerne mes qualifications: je suis diplômée de l'enseignement et prof depuis 5 ans. J'aimerais donc évidemment me tourner vers l'enseignement et pouvoir être prof et/ou animatrice (10 ans d'expérience en animation).
Ma question est la suivante, car sur internet la recherche d'informations ne se révèle pas être si simple, connaîtriez-vous des ONG cherchant spécifiquement des professeurs?? Je sais que souvent ils recherchent plutôt des médecins, infirmiers, ingénieurs (en agriculture, architecture...)... mais dans l'enseignement, il doit aussi y avoir une demande, non?

Je ne connais pas spécifiquement d'ONG cherchant spécifiquement des professeurs, mais http://www.planetngo.org est un très bon site Internet - créé par l'association Planet'NGO - où tu devrais t'inscrire, qui t'aidera grandement dans tes recherches. Ce site recense pléthore de petites ONG locales des quatre coins du monde, dans les domaines de l'enfance, l'action sociale, l'humanitaire et l'environnement. Tu pourras donc effectuer des recherches précises et ciblées, en fonction de tes critères (le lieu, ou les thématiques abordées par exemple), et sélectionner puis communiquer directement avec l'ONG grâce aux fiches techniques les décrivant et détaillant leurs besoins réalisées par des bénévoles.
Lors de tes recherches, les ONG décrivent aussi le type d'aménités dont tu peux bénéficier (comme être nourrie et logée).
Notre association vient en aide aux enfants birmans réfugiés en Thaïlande. Afin de finaliser la recherche de bénévoles pour l'été 2010, nous cherchons encore plusieurs personnes comme suit :

I’m a volunteer leader at a youth center (MJC), and we’ve been deeply moved by everything happening in Madagascar—extreme poverty, endangered animals, deforestation, and so on. Plus, one of our teens has a Malagasy friend, so our group wants to travel there next year.
Throughout this year, they’ve planned fundraisers to collect donations (sheets, dish towels, schoolbooks, hygiene products, etc.) and funds to cover their trip and stay.
They’re really motivated and generous—they already volunteer in schools and senior centers, and they’re always welcomed warmly.
But so far, they haven’t found any organizations in Madagascar willing to host them for two weeks (orphanages, schools, animal protection parks, etc.).
Does anyone know of any contacts, please?

Hello, we’d like to travel as a family to Madagascar (2 parents, 2 kids aged 10 and 12). A first trip over 15 years ago completely amazed and moved me with its beauty, kindness, and life experiences—but also its poverty and hardship. That’s why I think it’s possible to introduce our kids to this island while also doing something useful through volunteering. The window is short—15 days in March 2020—which means avoiding the north and east of the island due to cyclones and focusing on the south instead. Some ecovolunteering projects exist online, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive, and kids are rarely accepted. Do you have any ideas or contacts? Thanks in advance!
