Cruise from 09/24 to 10/04 2025 on MSC Preziosa

Hello, I’m going on this cruise and have a few questions: 1° Should we exchange euros for kroner before leaving, or can we exchange on the spot—or even withdraw with a Visa Premier card? 2° Has anyone already done this cruise and could tell us about it? 3° Is there a must-do MSC excursion, or do you have any backup plans?

Our itinerary is Hamburg, Bergen, Molde, Trondheim, Ålesund, Vik i Sogn, Stavanger, Oslo, Hamburg.

Good evening, I’ve been to Norway many times—twice to the North Cape by car—and five times solo. I’ve never taken out local currency; you should know that everything can be paid by card, even for just one krone. Public toilets are also paid by card. Just check with your bank to see if any extra fees will apply for card payments. Have a great trip—Norway is magnificent!

Hi Christophe, Thanks for your reply. Indeed, I just got back from the cruise in Norway, and I paid for everything by card. As a precaution, I opened a WISE account, and everything worked out great. We had the pleasure of seeing Norway in the sunshine, but Hamburg in the rain. Thanks again, and looking forward to it. Jean Paul
