hi, I'm looking for a driver-guide or a guide + driver for a 2-week trip. Must speak French. Anyone have any names to suggest (reliable with good driving)? Thanks

Hi everyone, my friend and I just got back from a week in Cambodia (end of February 2019) where we hired a driver-guide to save as much time as possible and do as much as we could while there. March 2025 :) .... Hope you all managed to go on your trip! For our part, we’ve just returned from 2 weeks in Cambodia with Sophal SIN, who was our guide and driver. I’m sharing this on the forum because he’s a really great person. Sophal speaks perfect French, is thoughtful, calm, always in a good mood, and has a very French sense of humor 😉: What we also appreciated was his Franco-Khmer background—he spent 30 years in France and returned to Cambodia in 2011—and this helped us better understand Cambodia and discover typical but not "touristy" spots (like small restaurants, a lesser-known fishing village on the Tonle Sap, etc.). Sophal SIN doesn’t work on commission (a mentality he told us he hates). He was a huge help in planning our culturally focused trip, at a pace that let us savor every moment. He drives a comfortable, well-air-conditioned Toyota Land Cruiser with great ease—so nice for this time of year!
