Hi,
I’m traveling with my 6-year-old daughter this summer, and since her father hasn’t seen her in 3 months, he won’t be able to sign a travel consent form for me.
He’s been completely out of touch since early March, and I have no idea where he is.
We’re heading to Montreal for 2 weeks in early July—I have both the outbound and return tickets.
Am I required to provide a signed consent letter from the father, even though she’s traveling with a parent who has legal custody?
If I don’t have one but can prove my good faith—explaining that he’s completely unreachable—will that be enough?
Thanks for your help!
Hi,
Has anyone had recent experience applying for a tourist visa to Algeria from Quebec, specifically at the consulate in Montreal?
How long does it take? The consulate’s website says 2 to 3 weeks. Is that accurate?
Is it possible to apply by mail? A travel agency told me it’s unrealistic.
What’s the maximum number of days you’ve been granted?
Thanks,
Pierre Racine

Hi there,
I just booked my round-trip flight ticket to visit Cuba for two months, from January to March 2025. I’ve heard about the challenges Cubans are facing and the recent changes the island has gone through—economically (like the end of the dual-currency system) and administratively (the introduction of an e-visa)...
This is my first time visiting the country, so I’m still figuring out all the administrative steps I need to take before I go.
1) Can I apply for the electronic e-visa now (still 22 €?) from home on the website evisacuba.cu?
2) I read that I need to fill out a form 48 hours before departure on the site dviajeros.mitrans.gol-.cu/inicio. Is it possible to do this now to save time?
3) I’m a bit confused about the currency. From what I understand, there’s now only the Cuban Peso. Should I exchange my euros at the airport, or wait until I arrive at the *casas particulares* in Havana that I’ve already booked and ask the owner?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there,
This will be my first trip to Thailand, which will be the first stop on my Asian journey. This time, I’d like to leave with a one-way ticket so I can return to France from the last country I visit.
First and foremost, I’d like to confirm whether it’s possible to get a VOA (Visa on Arrival) when I land in Thailand without any prior steps? Is proof of onward travel (like a return ticket) required to get this visa?
If so, does it have to be a round-trip ticket from the country I’m arriving from, or can I use a flight or train ticket from Thailand to a neighboring country as proof of exit?
For Cambodia and Vietnam, is it also possible to get a VOA on the spot?
I’d also love any tips or important info you think might be useful about Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam—my planned destinations—especially regarding accommodation, transportation, points of interest, and, of course, any personal advice or experiences you’d like to share!
Thanks so much to everyone, and I wish you all an amazing 2025 filled with health, travel, and discoveries! !

Hi everyone, I’d like to travel to Senegal with my two dogs—an Amstaff and a French Bulldog (who can’t fly). I’m wondering if you think it’ll be complicated or if the formalities are easy to sort out.
I’m giving myself a year to prepare for this trip.
Thanks in advance for your replies

Hi, I'm planning to go to Cambodia soon. Since I'm heading toward Kratie, I thought I might as well go all the way to Pakse in Laos.
So I need a visa for Cambodia, one for Laos... but then another one when I return to Cambodia (since I plan to go to Siem Reap afterward)?
The question might seem silly, but I don’t want any hassle at the Cambodian border. I might have a few days left on my first visa, but just in case...
If anyone gets what I mean, thanks! ^^

Hi,
I’m heading to Seattle next week. We’ve got our ESTAs (we’re French). We’d like to spend a day in Vancouver. Do we need the I-94 form to re-enter the U.S., or are our ESTAs enough? I’ve read conflicting info everywhere... Any recent experiences? We can’t be the only ones...
Thanks.
Good evening and best travel wishes to everyone.
I’m leaving soon for a two-month road trip in Southeast Asia.
Arriving in Bangkok on January 14th, returning from Ho Chi Minh City on March 13th.
I don’t have an exit ticket from Thailand because I’d like to keep some flexibility in my itinerary.
Do you think my return ticket from Vietnam will be enough to prove that I’ll have left Thai territory within 60 days of my entry?
I hope I won’t run into any issues boarding at Roissy or at immigration once I’m in BKK.
What do you think?
Thanks for your help.
Christine
Hi there,
My partner, our 8-year-old daughter, and I are going on vacation to Gex.
We’ve decided to spend one day in Switzerland and another in Italy. Will we need ID (national ID card or passport)? Do we also need ID for our daughter?
Thanks so much for your answers! 🙂

Hi everyone,
I’ve got a one-way ticket to Vietnam. My return flight will be from Malaysia since I’ll be traveling around Southeast Asia overland. To qualify for the 45-day visa-free entry, you need to show an exit ticket from Vietnam. Do you think a bus ticket from Saigon to Phnom Penh would work?

Hi there,
I’d like to visit North Korea after the summer, coming from China.
After watching a few videos, I’ve got some doubts and was hoping for some firsthand experiences:
- Do they really confiscate passports on arrival? - Do they also keep our phones?
And about medications—are there any limits? Do we need documentation or special precautions? Is there a risk they might be confiscated on arrival? (This treatment is vital for me.)
Thanks in advance for your help! !

Hi,
Currently in Laos, we’re crossing the land border into Cambodia on January 1, 2026.
I’ve read that tips/bribes are everywhere.
Can anyone tell me the price of the tourist visa on arrival?
Thanks for the info.
Mylène
Hi there,
We’re heading to Japan soon and booked a room through Booking for our first two nights.
The host is asking for a copy of our passports even though we’ve already paid.
What do you all think?
Thanks
Hi,
I applied for a visa to go to Great Britain soon (May, Manchester) via the official app on February 22.
I haven’t received any response yet... normally the processing time is 3 days... and there’s no way to contact them (unless you pay).
Has anyone already applied through this app? If so, how long did it take to get a response?
Thanks

Hello,
We’re heading to Cambodia for a trip. We have a 2h50 layover in Ho Chi Minh City on the way out and a 3h45 layover in Hanoi on the way back.
Do we need a visa for this transit? Thanks for your help...
Hi there,
Do I need a return ticket? Proof of insurance and a hotel reservation?? I’m French.
Also, is there any control on meds and sleeping pills?? Thanks a bunch!
Starting January 5, you’ll need to arrive at the Mauritanian border with an E.Visa.
To get it, you’ll have to go to the Mauritanian website:

Hey fellow travelers! 🙂
I'm planning a trip to India in January 2025 for 3 months.
This will be my second trip to India. The first time was in 2009, when I was just 21 (doesn’t make me feel any younger!).
My issue is this: on the India visa application form, I’m asked if I’ve been to India before, and if so, to provide the visa number from that trip.
The problem is, since 2009, I’ve changed passports (and no longer have the old one), so I can’t fill out the form correctly.
I thought about answering "no" to the question ("Have you been to India before?"), but that stresses me out because I hate "cheating" or lying. Especially since I figure they might cross-check their databases, and it could seem odd that I answered "no" when I’ve actually been there before. Maybe my visa could even be denied.
So, I’d love to know if any of you have been in this situation and how you handled it.
Looking forward to your replies! 🙂
Hi,
I’ve read on several forums and blogs that to enter Senegal by motorcycle, some say you need a CPD, others say an ATA carnet, and others say no carnet at all.
What’s the real deal? My bike is over 10 years old.
Thanks
Hi everyone,
I booked my round-trip ticket from Paris to Phnom Penh (way too quickly, of course) because I’d like to start in Laos. I’m traveling from November 5th to December 3rd. So, I’m wondering: when I arrive in Phnom Penh on the 6th and take a flight directly to Laos without leaving the airport, do I still need a visa for Cambodia? Also, which airport in Laos would you recommend—Luang Prabang or Vientiane?
Thanks so much for your advice!

Hi there,
I’m not sure what’s being said on the various European diplomatic sites, but on the Belgian one, they mention that an ESTA and/or visa aren’t a guarantee of entry. Immigration services have the final say—they could even ask to see your electronic devices like phones, tablets, or cameras. And there might be extra hassles for LGBTQIA+ travelers.

Hi there,
My wife is from Madagascar (we currently live in France), and she wants to move back permanently. Can we buy a one-way ticket for her flight?
Looking forward to your reply, Eric

Hi there,
During a stay in Hong Kong, if you're planning a round trip to Macao:
- Do you know what the visa requirements are?
- Will we be able to return to Hong Kong the same evening?
Thanks for your help!
Hi there,
Just a quick question about filling out the TM6 (TDAC) for Thailand. I'm going for 2 months and 3 weeks (I bought a round-trip ticket) and I'll arrive under the 60-day visa exemption since I didn't get a visa.
However, I bought an exit ticket to a neighboring country before the 60 days are up to avoid any hassle at Paris airport.
For the TM6, they ask for the return date—what should I put? My actual return date? The website doesn’t give me the option to upload my exit ticket from Thailand.
Thanks!
hi,
and help! I need to complete my TDAC, but the site is stuck on page 2 under
Accommodation Information:
I can't fill in the "province" field—it's mandatory!
I enter Bangkok, but when I scroll down to add the address... everything disappears.
What should I do? Thanks for your help! Elisabeth

Hi everyone!
I just got notified of a short-stay visa refusal for Greece, with the reason being that the purpose and conditions of my stay weren’t sufficiently justified. Yet I included in my application an explanatory letter, paid round-trip flight and hotel reservations, a paid ticket for my visits, and travel insurance—all matching the duration of my stay. I’m really puzzled by this decision and feel it’s unfair. Could anyone here shed some light on what might have gone wrong?
Thanks in advance!

hi there
since the forum is back up, let’s try to gather some updated info.
first off, arrival formalities are changing—starting January 1st, you’ll need to fill out an electronic form before arrival. This replaces the paperwork you used to fill out on the plane or at the airport (for air arrivals). Here’s the link: https://www.arrival.gov.kh/.
for visas, the same options remain: e-visa, visa on arrival, or visa at the embassy. The standard price is $30 on arrival, but at land borders, be prepared for a small "extra" for "cigarettes or coffee."
don’t forget your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return.
regarding airlines, prices are pretty high for carriers like Singapore, Qatar, Emirates, Vietnam Airlines, and Thai. EVA Air is a great Taiwanese airline with slightly lower fares, but ongoing pressure from mainland China and quasi-blockades could cause delays or issues—something to watch.
there are cheaper Chinese airlines, but friends from China advise being cautious with connections. Worth double-checking.
transport is evolving too—there’s now a highway from Phnom Penh to Kampot. Soraya, a well-known bus company, has disappeared. More highway projects are in the works. Buildings are popping up fast, just mentioning this for those who haven’t been to Cambodia in a while.
bonjour
