J'aimerais des conseils pour choisir une destination pour Noël, en couple avec deux enfants de 10 et 12 ans.

Nous aimerions un endroit qui nous permettrait de faire du snorkelling chouette et facile avec les enfants, si possible depuis la plage et-ou à faible profondeur.

Et aussi, tant qu'à faire, un bel endroit à visiter et découvrir, avec de la nature et des randos, et une ambiance plus cool-routarde que resorts et tourisme en folie.

Un temps de vol "raisonnable" et pas trop de décalage horaire, ce serait mieux !

J'ai pensé à l'ïle Maurice, Zanzibar (+ éventuellement Tanzanie), la Martinique ou la Guadeloupe, mais peut-être avez-vous d'autres idées, ou des avis sur ces choix ?

Hi there, we're planning our vacation in Indonesia. We're a family with two kids aged 11 and 14. We leave on July 26th and return on August 17th, 2026.

We initially planned to visit Bali, Komodo, and Flores, but after looking into it more, we came across Sumatra, which is less touristy... a real plus for us. However, skipping Bali might be a shame.

I was wondering if spending 12 days in Sumatra and finishing with about 7 days in Bali is a doable plan.

We’re a couple with an 8-year-old daughter, and we’d love to head to the islands this summer (late July to early August) for 15 days to enjoy the beaches, beautiful landscapes, snorkeling, and see sea turtles.

We’re torn between Mauritius and Guadeloupe (where we went about ten years ago as a "just the two of us" couple).

We’ve read a few things about both destinations: - About Mauritius: July and August are during the southern winter, so temperatures are cooler, and the water isn’t always very warm (it’s all relative, though!). On the east coast, it can be quite windy and therefore cooler. - About Guadeloupe: July and August are the rainy season, but the rain is mostly at night and in the morning. That means warm, sunny days with nice warm water!

Of course, it’s impossible to predict the weather six months in advance, but we’d love to hear your thoughts on these destinations.

I’ve been to Santorini and Naxos before and don’t want to go back. I’ll arrive at the hotel by car on Saturday around noon and won’t pick it up again until the next evening to leave.

**First day:** I’m thinking of starting from the hotel, then heading to the Eiffel Tower - Trocadéro - Galeries Lafayette - Élysée Palace - Tuileries Garden - the Louvre (outside only) and finishing at Les Invalides.

Hi everyone, okay, here’s the scoop: I’ve been dealing with a pretty serious illness, but I’m determined to recover by the end of this year. I want to take my partner and my two little ones (7 and 4 years old) for a ten-day vacation in February 2026 or April 2026. The goal? To help them forget this tough year—let’s be honest—and give us all (and yes, I deserve it too 😉) some fantastic holidays.

Considering the budget for round-trip flights, cost of living on-site (hotel with pool and beach, all-inclusive or half-board meals), and food quality, which would you choose between Mauritius, Cuba, or the Dominican Republic? Heads up—I’ve been a globetrotter in another life, and all-inclusive hotels aren’t usually my thing, but this time, it’s different: I need REST and a family-friendly vacation. Hi there, I’m planning a trip to Greece this summer with my 3-year-old son. I recently separated, and we were originally supposed to go on a road trip to Brazil, so I’m now forced to find a Plan B. I’m usually a backpacker who travels with just my backpack, but with my son, I’ll have to opt for all-inclusive hotel packages. I don’t feel ready yet to go backpacking alone with him at the other end of the world. When he’s 5, it’ll be easier :)

Anyway, with so many options for Greece, I’m a bit overwhelmed. There are so many islands and resorts. Do you have an island to recommend? And more specifically, a hotel?

I wanted to share our travel experience with a Sri Lankan French-speaking guide.

This is Mr. Deen, a guide who speaks French as well as you and me. He studied French at the University of Rouen and knows every corner of his island. He specializes in the country's history, botany, and gemology, a field in which he earned his degree in Paris. What a pleasure to discover Sri Lanka this way, thanks to Deen!

We traveled as a couple with our four older children (ages 15 to 19). We had decided to explore this country with a lot of uncertainties, worried it might not appeal to everyone... Deen was a wonderful guide. From our arrival at the airport, he knew just what to say, and throughout our trip—which we largely planned on the spot with him—he found the perfect pace to satisfy everyone.

He showed us the essentials but also the details of daily life, knowing when to stop by the roadside to introduce us to fruits, a lime factory, must-see temples, and charming little temples where no one goes, a kindergarten... not to mention the best tips for attending the Kandy Perahera or the more intimate one in Dondra, as well as the train to Ella.

We also really loved some of the hotels: a few kilometers from Dambulla, the Boulder Range (tip: the early morning birdwatching walk and a beer at sunset on the lake dam), and in Ella, the Ambiente, with a breathtaking view.

We also won’t forget our driver Jonny, whose kindness was both efficient and reassuring, nor Agnès, Deen’s wife, who was so pleasant.

It was a wonderful and unforgettable trip, and the last few days in Tangalle at FrenchRésidence were very comforting, in a warm and family-like atmosphere. We won’t soon forget such an experience. Sandrine and Philipe.

We’re planning a trip to Thailand with my husband and our two 7-year-old kids. Three weeks in February/March. Our rough itinerary is: arriving in Bangkok for 3-4 days, then Chiang Mai and the surrounding area, and finally an island in the south.

-We land in Bangkok around 7 AM. Any hotel recommendations? We’d love to rest right after we arrive. Budget is around 40 € per night.

For the rest, I’m open to any tips or suggestions:

-Accommodation in Chiang Mai, and maybe a night in an elephant sanctuary park...

-Should we take the overnight train to Chiang Mai on the way there or on the way back?

We’re heading to Corsica for 10 days from April 26 to May 5 as a family with two boys aged 8 and 12. We’ll arrive in Calvi and stay for 7 nights in the hills above L’Île-Rousse. Then we’ll have 2 nights left (accommodation not yet booked) before flying out from Ajaccio.

Of course, we’d like to explore and do a few hikes that are kid-friendly.

Some of the places we’ve shortlisted: - the towns of L’Île-Rousse, Calvi, Saint-Florent, and Corte - the villages of Balagne - the Agriates Desert (Ostriconi beach by car, and Lotu by boat with a hike to Saleccia) - Restonica Gorge - a boat trip to Piana and Scandola

For the last part of the trip, I’m really unsure about: - where to stay? - what to visit? I’d thought about staying near Ajaccio and visiting the Sanguinaires Islands and doing a few hikes along the coast, but I’d also spotted some great options inland around Evisa, like the Aitone Forest, for example.

We’ll return the rental car on May 3 at 10 AM in Monticello and fly out from Ajaccio on May 5 at 7:40 PM.

We’ve rented a car for the whole 10 days.

I’ll admit I’m posting this out of convenience because I’ve been *terrible* at planning this trip and could really use your advice—especially about distances and what’s doable without rushing or spending all our time in the car.

Hi everyone! We’re spending a month in the Philippines from mid-December to mid-January. We’ll be taking a flight from Cebu to Boracay for some kitesurfing. After that, we were thinking of heading back to Cebu Island via public transport or taxi, crossing Panay and Negros, and then going to Moalboal, Bantayan, and Malapascua. Do you think it’s worth crossing Panay and Negros? We’ve heard there were floods on Negros, and Google Maps shows that the volcano on Negros is erupting, so I don’t think hiking it is an option. My questions revolve around beaches (a spot with interesting snorkeling and safe swimming for the kids), accommodation (kid-friendly, parks nearby, pool, beach, or nature—more like guesthouses or family-run pensions), hikes (accessible for kids), and whether renting a car makes sense depending on the island, even though local buses are an adventure in themselves.

**Santiago:** - Beach & snorkeling: Tarrafal, Quebra Canela in Praia, Ribeira da Barca (okay for kids?), Águas Belas? - Any nice places to stay? - Hikes: Malagueta?, Baobab Boa Entrada, Pico António (accessible? elevation gain, time to climb, difficulty, interest for kids?)

**Boa Vista:** - Beach + snorkeling: Santa Mónica, Praia de Chaves, Gatas, ... Estoril Beach in Sal Rei maybe? - Can we swim at Turtle Bay to see the turtles even though it’s not nesting season? - Any nice places to stay? - Hikes: Viana Desert? We’re a family of five (our kids are 6, 15, and 19) and we’d love to go somewhere warm with our feet in the water during the first two weeks of August 2026. We’d also like to do some cultural visits and a bit of hiking. We were thinking of Guadeloupe—I know it’s not the ideal time of year, but we don’t have much flexibility. Is it really a bad idea, or can we still enjoy it despite the weather?

Another option for us would be Madeira, which seems more reliable weather-wise, but it sounds like the beaches are less accessible and not as nice.

We haven’t really looked elsewhere because everything else (except the Canary Islands, Balearics, or Corsica) seems way too expensive. But if you’ve got any recommendations, don’t hesitate—we’re just starting to look into it.

Hi there, I’m really sorry if this question has already been asked several times—I’ve been scouring blogs, forums, and various sites for a while now, but I still have some more specific questions for our trip...

First off, we’re a family of four with two kids aged 10 and 14. We’ve already been to Thailand and Laos five times with them (each trip lasting a month or six weeks), and we’re huge Thailand lovers, but this year we’d like to discover Indonesia, which we don’t know at all (for a duration of 4 or 5 weeks between late June and late July). We travel pretty "roots" style with a budget of 100 € per day and avoid touristy areas as much as possible. We get around using local transport, rent scooters, and take our time (for a one-month trip, we usually visit 4 destinations to really soak it in). So here are my upcoming questions:

For a first visit, I wanted to focus on a single island—Lombok—by taking a flight from Paris to Denpasar and then a boat to Lombok. Do you think the following route would work? - Kuta Lombok - Gili Gede - Gili Meno - Tetebatu

I saw there’s a local boat to Lombok—has anyone here taken it before? For those who’ve been there during this period, do you know if Gili Meno and Gili Gede get crowded, or should we focus more on the coasts? To get between these spots, are there buses, or do we need to take private taxis? As for accommodations, we’re used to booking triple rooms for all four of us in Thailand. For those who travel with kids, do you know if that’s doable in Indonesia, or should we book two double rooms instead?

Last (slightly silly) question: We want to go to Indonesia because our son dreams of seeing beautiful marine life while snorkeling—I think Lombok is a good choice for that. But my daughter is a huge fan of those "knick-knack" markets full of Chinese trinkets that you find all over Thailand. Do you know if Lombok has any day or night markets where we could go?

We’re a couple traveling with our 2.5-year-old baby. We’re heading to Patagonia in March or April 2026. We don’t have exact dates yet because this will be the start of a long trip around Latin America. We’ll be traveling by public transport, with our backpacks and a baby carrier for support. We’ll take a domestic flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, and the rest will be by bus.

Here’s the itinerary we’ve planned: - Buenos Aires (5 days) - Ushuaia (5 days or more) - El Calafate (3 days) - El Chaltén (5 days) - Los Antiguos + border crossing at Chile Chico - Puerto Río Tranquilo (Chile) (5 days) - Coyhaique (Chile) (3 days) - Chiloé Island (Chile) (10 days) - Puerto Varas (Chile) (3 days) - Bariloche (5 days) - San Martín de los Andes (3 days) - Mendoza (5 days)

After that, we’re thinking of spending a few days in Córdoba, then a month in Salta. We plan to head back down to Santiago (Chile) and then head north along the Chilean side toward Peru.

What do you think of this itinerary (especially the Patagonia part)? Is it doable with a young child just over 2.5 years old? I’d also love to include Esquel and El Bolsón in Argentina, but I’m not sure how to fit them in or if they’re really worth it. The durations are approximate, depending on what there is to do in each place... Do you have any suggestions for improving it or any tips?

We want to do some easy hikes or half-day walks since we won’t be able to carry him all day. That’s why we’ve intentionally left out Torres del Paine National Park (very expensive and not very baby-friendly, I think). Do you know of any hikes that are accessible with a little one?

My wife and I are heading to Thailand in April 2025 with our two daughters, aged 4 and 7. I’d love to get your thoughts and some great tips on our itinerary (which isn’t set in stone at all!!). We’re planning to arrive in Phuket and head straight to Koh Lanta (4/5 nights). I’d love to visit another spot in the area, but nothing’s really grabbing us—so if you’ve got any ideas, we’re all ears! Next, we’re heading to Koh Phangan (the north) for about 4 nights. After that, we’ll head east to Ko Chang and Koh Kood, spending around 3 nights on each island. Then, Bangkok for 2 days and one night before flying back to France. We’ll have about 16-17 days there. Like most people, we’re looking for quiet spots, far from big resorts, with beaches, pools, and walks/activities for our young kids. From my research, the west has great beaches and views, while the east offers a bit more adventure and fewer crowds. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I’d like to know if there’s a town in the Peloponnese where we can stay and visit everything from there—I’d prefer not to change hotels every night. Are there any stops I can skip? Any must-see additions? I’d love to find pools or beaches to cool off at the end of the day—with the heat and the kids, we’ll need to refresh after sightseeing! For the Cyclades, I’m thinking of spending just an afternoon and evening in Santorini before moving on. I’m looking for authentic, quiet, beautiful islands with few tourists and nice beaches. Should I book all our rooms before leaving, or can we improvise a little? Thanks for your tips!
