hi there, I’ve never been to Martinique. my girlfriend, who’s of Martinican origin, has never had the chance to go either (life isn’t always easy). now we can plan a little trip, but we don’t know which airline to choose or how to find accommodation.

basically, I need quite a few tips.

we’re planning to go in September—no chance before that.

Your tips for things to visit during a one-month trip to Martinique
Hi fellow travelers, We're heading to Martinique for a month from mid-January to mid-February. Our plan is to explore the island by staying in three different spots for 10 days each, on both sides of the island... Could you share some great tips on where to stay for an authentic experience and what we absolutely must see?!

Thanks for your help! Voyamie.

Mistake with the 3rd first name on CORSAIR tickets
Hi, When booking the tickets to Martinique for our family, I must have made a mistake, and on one of the tickets, the third first name is wrong. Michel instead of Joel... CORSAIR Airlines is telling me I have to buy a new ticket for 1200 € (Christmas period). I think that’s outrageous and, above all, impossible for us. I’m desperate—I feel like Corsair is really overdoing it. Is there any recourse? How can I get out of this?

I’m throwing this message in a bottle, just in case...😕

Thanks for your help.

Tasting the World Together
Calm, composed, reflective, dreamy, intuitive, joyful—I feel like (especially in winter) colors and warm seas, shared moments to savor the soul of the world. Why not also the rest of the time in Europe, France, Italy, and other regions of the world? For example, to bathe in gorges with clear waters, marvel at landscapes, taste the harmony of a village, a city (Florence…), a culture…

Currently, I’m finishing writing a novel. I’m also looking for partners for the "Human Source" project I’m developing. It’s about collecting and sharing stories of human transformations, moments of awareness, and offering tools to feel guided through these changes. I also love speaking English.

Let’s chat a bit here, then on WhatsApp or by phone, and then meet somewhere in France for 1 or 2 days. If we click, we can organize a short 4- to 5-day trip somewhere not too far, and maybe then continue on to bigger travels. Traveling to Martinique with a 7.5-month-old baby
Hi everyone, I’d love to hear about your experiences traveling by plane with a 7.5-month-old baby to Martinique from Paris. Also, if anyone has direct contacts for reasonable and baby-friendly accommodation—whether in the north or south of the island—I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance to those who reply!😊

Visiting Martinique and Guadeloupe in 15 days
Hi everyone,

I bought tickets for Martinique in April 2025 for 15 days, without really looking into what there was to do, and with the idea in my head that we could: hike, do water activities, swim, visit rum distilleries...

But... I’m worried I’ll get bored over 15 days and I’m considering maybe spending 1 week in Guadeloupe and 1 week in Martinique. For example, I don’t know how to spend a whole afternoon at the beach. 2 hours, max.

I know it’s a personal question and depends on how you travel, but I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve done it: - Did you feel too rushed? - Is it reasonable to do? - How much time would you spend on each island?

I’m open to all your comments.

Thanks so much.

Have a lovely afternoon! :)

Where to go snorkeling at Christmas with kids?
Hi dear Voyage Forum community,

So glad this precious forum still exists!

I’d love some advice on choosing a Christmas destination for a trip with my partner and our two kids, aged 10 and 12.

We’re looking for a place where we can enjoy great, easy snorkeling with the kids—ideally from the beach or in shallow water.

And if possible, a beautiful spot to explore, with nature, hikes, and a more laid-back, backpacker-friendly vibe than big resorts or mass tourism.

A "reasonable" flight time and not too much jet lag would be ideal!

I’ve been considering Mauritius, Zanzibar (plus possibly Tanzania), Martinique, or Guadeloupe—but maybe you have other suggestions or thoughts on these options?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Where to go for an all-inclusive trip with a wheelchair but fully independent?
Hi everyone, I’m writing here because I’m really torn—I want to go on a trip. A vacation? 10 to 12 days, maybe 14 days. Starting March 14th. I’m in a wheelchair but completely independent. I was thinking of going to Martinique, but apparently, the hotels aren’t all-inclusive, which might be a hassle. If you have any advice, that’d be great. Otherwise, I was considering Mexico—a long-time dream. At an all-inclusive hotel with accessibility on one level (since I’m independent but in a wheelchair). Do you know of any nice, budget-friendly hotels with activities in Mexico? Or Zanzibar is also an option for me, same idea.

Thanks in advance for your help! If you have any tips, that would be amazing so I can finally make up my mind and plan my trip without too much stress. I’m looking ahead so I have plenty of time. Feel free to ask questions if you’d like. Thanks for your feedback, have a great evening!

Guadeloupe and Martinique with locals
Hi there, My friend and I are traveling together between October and November 2025—no exact dates yet. We’d love to step away from the typical travel agency packages and are hoping to rent a car locally and stay with locals, living with them rather than in a vacation rental.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks in advance for your advice and tips! Warm regards to all

Martinique or Guadeloupe in October?
Hi there, the title says it all. I’m thinking of heading over there in October, even though my main goal is Dominica—but I’m not sure if the island is open to tourists yet. Anyway, I don’t know the Caribbean islands at all, so are Martinique and Guadeloupe very different? In terms of population, prices, beaches, activities, etc.? And of course, all this assuming we don’t go back into lockdown by then… Thanks in advance
