For the past two months, I’ve been checking flight ticket prices to spend 4.5 weeks in Thailand from early July to early August. I’m traveling from Brussels with a young child, so I want to avoid layovers. That’s why I’m only looking at Thai Airways’ website and only choosing direct flights.

At the end of August, I saw tickets for 955 € per person. On October 1st, they were 1,225 €. Today (October 22nd), the price is the same as on October 1st. (Same dates: Departure: July 4th, Return: August 7th.)

My question is: Is it possible these prices will drop significantly in the coming months?

Note: I clear my browser cache before every search, which I always do during the week and in the evening. This time, I also checked with my work computer, which has a VPN. So, the price isn’t influenced by cookies.

Bonjour, J'ai vu sur le site «Trip Advisor» une excursion à Chiang Rai organisée par « Yada travel Chiang Rai » pour 1000 Baths. Visite du Temple Blanc, Black house, et surtout, Long Neck village qui m'intéresse particulièrement. J'aimerais savoir si cette agence est fiable. Habituellement, je passe par Expédia pour mes excursions, mais ce n'est pas offert sur leur site. Y a-t-il d'autres activités intéressantes à Chiang Rai en novembre. Merci.

Our next trip to Thailand is coming up, and we just can't wait! We talk, eat, drink, and dream Thailand 😏

Our itinerary is mostly set, and we’ve found quite a few new things to explore, but I’d still love to hear your recommendations for Bangkok. Just so you know: we love this city, and every time we visit, we spend several days there without ever feeling like we’ve seen it all. So this year, we’re staying for 8 days! Here’s what we have planned this year: * Exploring Nonthaburi * A day trip to Nakhon Pathom (to test out our basic Thai skills 😛) * Khlong Lat Mayom floating market (we went 10 years ago—it’s probably changed a lot!) * The Erawan Museum (we visited Muang Boran on our last trip) * Finally taking the time to check out Wat Phra Sri Maha Mariamman and Wat Yannawa (we’ve planned to go several times but never made it—are they worth a visit?)

This is what we’ve picked so far, but I’d love to hear about the favorite spots and recommendations from travelers who, like us, adore Bangkok.

Les camps pour éléphants, boycottés par des tours opérateurs occidentaux, se métamorphosent par dizaines en "sanctuaires" ou "refuges". Mais ces appellations qui vendent éthique et respect de l'animal dissimulent un juteux business où le dressage reste souvent brutal.

Je suis artisan du cuir en France et doit me rendre en thaïlande en famille au mois de février par la même occasion je voudrais savoir si on peu trouver en Thaïlande mais surtout à Bangkok des articles artisanal en pure cuir tel que ceintures, sac à mains, portefeuille, etuis, bracelets... j'ai trouvé une video du bangkok leather market mais c'est assez limité... Si quelqu'un pourrais m'aider ce serais cool pour moi la Thailande n'est pas trop le pays du cuir par rapport à l'inde mais sait on jamais 🙂

Hello, I’m planning to leave on April 27th for Bangkok via AF (Air France), direct flight. We’re quite familiar with this destination (we’ve been there about a dozen times). My question is: what’s the current situation and atmosphere like there? Is it easy to get around—taxis, buses, flights, etc.? Ideas for things to see and do

Hi, I’m heading to Thailand (first time!) in a week. We planned to be in Khao Sok National Park on February 1st and 2nd. I got a message yesterday saying it wouldn’t be possible to do any activities on Lake Chiew Lan as planned because of “weather conditions.” Despite all my research, I can’t find any info that supports this. Does anyone have recent updates? Is it really impossible to visit the lake, and if so, are there any alternatives? They’re offering a walk to Bang Hua Rad waterfall instead. Any thoughts? We’re really disappointed—the lake looked amazing 😢

Dans sa préparation de réouverture du pays aux étrangers, la quarantaine sera obligatoire pour tous les étrangers sans exception, au vu de la contamination mondiale galopante, le gouvernement Thaï craint une 2eme vague, de plus les fameuses bulles touristique sont renvoyées pour la fin de l'année. Why sell all this stuff if we can’t bring it back without risks??

Hi there, As we’re putting the finishing touches on our travel journal, we could really use your help, please. We’re heading to Thailand in three weeks and will be in Chiang Rai right during the burning season... Will the stunning road between Chiang Rai and Pai still be beautiful? Are the landscapes green like we’d expect at this time of year, or are they dry with gray and brown mountains due to the drought? We were planning to rent a car, but that’s a lot of time we could spend elsewhere if it’s not worth it! Thanks for your help.

Nous avons une bonne connaissance de l'Afrique du Nord, mais sur les conseils d'amis nous souhaitons nous "lancer" en Asie du Sud Est. Nous projetons de partir 6 à 7 semaines à partir du 28 octobre 2020. Nos poles d'interets sont -visites -petits trecs -vivre au milieu des habitants. -calme Il faudrait que le circuit tienne compte des conditions climatiques, surtout" pas trop chaud" On aime bien se déplacer en bus ou train . Il y a beaucoup de questions sur les prix des taxis , mais j'aimerais des renseignements sur la durée des trajets. 1. du Lamphu Tree Hotel à l'aéroport Don Muang. Air Asia nous demande d'y être 3h avant (??) pour un vol un samedi à 10h55. On devrait donc y être vers 8h. Rome2rio annonce 20 min de trajet. Au vu des embouteillages de Bangkok j'ai un doute... 2. du Lamphu Tree Hotel pour Suvannabhumi un vendredi matin, pour un vol international à 13h, donc je pense être à l'aéroport vers 10h. Il nous serait aussi possible de prendre un taxi jusqu'à la City line. C'est juste pour avoir les éléments de choix le moment venu.

Autre petite question: les infos du post https://voyageforum.com/discussion/thailande-bien-prendre-taxi-arrivee-bangkok-d4314049/ datant de 2011 sur le taxi quand on arrive à Suvannabhumi sont elles toujours d'actualité? J'ai suivi ces indications lors d'un séjour en 2012, mais les années ont passé, et l'organisation pourrait avoir changé. Merci d'avance.

Avec deux amies, nous sommes entrain de regarder les options qui se présentent pour explorer les iles similans ou les iles surins.

A base on cherchait un liveaboard de snorkelling pour deux jours 1 nuit autour des Similan Islands. Il en existe mais pas forcement aux dates que l'on cherche ou alors en bateau avec une majorité de plongeurs.

Voila ce qu'on nous propose: 1) Liveaboard (Similan Quest ou MV Lapat) 2 jours 1 nuit avec majorité de plongeurs (nous on fait que du snorkeling), le bateau fait 1 jour iles Similans et 1 jour Koh Bon. Ca nous permet donc de decouvrir les fonds marins des Similans. Comme le bateau est un flexible, d'apres ce que j'ai compris il y a des plongeurs en plus qui se joignent la journée. Il y a peut-etre 30+ personnes sur le bateau. Sur le bateau 4 opportunité de snorkeling par jour (Dive sites).

2) Excursions 2 jour 1 nuit en tente sur les iles Surins. 2 sessions de snorkeling par jour a different site autour des iles, eventuellement visite d'un village de sea gypsy et une petite marche sur une des iles. On m'annonce capacité sur le bateau 40-50 personnes. D'apres ce que j'ai compris pareil il y a des gens qui viennent faire le day trip donc on est sur le meme bateau et le soir ou on est moins et rebelote pour rentrer.

Ma question du coup en tant que snorkeller: - Snorkelling plus interessant aux Similans ou Surin? - Paysage plus interessant aux Similans ou Surin? - Si on prend un liveaboard, les sites de snorkeling seront-ils interessant pour nous qui ne sommes pas plongeurs?

Si vous avez des retours et eventuellement compagnie a recommandé? Pour les liveaboard c'est facile a trouver des avis, mais pour l'execursion sur les surins plus difficiles de comprendre si c'est une ou plusieurs compagnie qui existent.

Qui est à Bangkok en ce moment pour témoigner un peu de l’ambiance sur place et notamment là où habituellement il y a beaucoup de monde et d’animations comme kao san road ou sukhumvit ? Je suis actuellement à KohNgai et il n’y a pratiquement personne, c’est à la fois agréable et inquiétant sans parler de la perte économique pour ceux qui vivent du tourisme. En théorie.... je rejoins Bangkok le 26 mars pour repartir à Paris avec la Qatar mais d’ici là....qui sait ?.?

I’m heading to Thailand for the first time at the end of January 2026 for two weeks. I’m traveling with someone who’s already been there, so we’re planning to hit some of the must-see spots but also visit places my partner wants to see—like Krabi, for example. We want a bit of everything: cities, food, culture, walks, but also beach time and relaxation. I’d love your thoughts on this itinerary idea—is it doable without feeling too rushed? We’ve got 16 nights there. There’s a part of the trip that’s still up in the air where I’m not sure what to do. Either we add a national park or a city like Erawan? The goal is to see beautiful landscapes, waterfalls (if there’s water at that time of year!), and wildlife... Or maybe we don’t add anything and just extend our time in the other stops! Depending on the final choice, the order might need adjusting 🙂

Day 1: Land in Bangkok from Paris at 2 PM—either we take a direct flight to Krabi to start our trip there (and end in Bangkok on the way back), or we stay in Bangkok for 3 days. Day 1/Day 2/Day 3/Day 4 (3.5 days, 4 nights): Bangkok (temples, floating market, possibly a day trip to Ayutthaya) Day 5/Day 6/Day 7/Day 8: Travel to Krabi, Railay, and day trips to the surrounding islands Day 9/Day 10/Day 11/Day 12: Travel to an island (probably Koh Tao), snorkeling, diving, trekking, Ang Thong excursion? Day 13/Day 14/Day 15: Leave the island for an undecided destination—a national park (Khao Sok? Khao Sam Roi Yot?)? Or Phang Nga Bay? Or Erawan? Day 16: Return to Bangkok Day 17: Departure (flight at 2 PM)

What do you think? Any advice or tips on the itinerary or the ideas for Days 13-15? (Which could be moved to another part of the trip depending on the route.) Just to note, we’re not big hikers or adventurers, but we do enjoy discovery, nature, and cultural visits like temples. Thanks in advance for your valuable tips 🙂
