Hi there. I’m currently (since early April) exploring the north by motorbike—Hanoi, Sapa, doing the Ha Giang loop, then heading to Dien Bien Phu.

Looking back, I’d have been smarter to spend more time in Hanoi before heading to Dien Bien Phu, then going back up to the Ha Giang loop and finishing in Sapa. The first two weeks are still pretty foggy and cold in Sapa. Temperatures are starting to rise now.

Make sure you get an international motorbike license—the police 👮 are having a field day.

PS) Buy a paper road map in France. You won’t find any here.

Also, any recommendations for budget homestay hotels in Sapa—max 20 € per night?

Any ideas for scooter tour routes (blogs welcome)? I’ll be heading to Điện Biên Phủ for a trip.

True, even with the GPS technology on our phones, I still always need a paper map. Go figure! 😛 I think I just like it, and I get my bearings much better in space. Old-school method 😉

I booked and paid for a January 30, 2020 rental for a month and a half, starting December 1, 2020 in Chiang Mai, Thailand (which is closed due to Covid-19).

Since I had no idea what would happen in December, I waited to see if my flight would still be on.

This morning, Qatar Airways canceled my flight.

I went to the Airbnb site to cancel my booking and saw that since my check-in date is after August 15, I only get 7 € back 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️.

What’s going on?? This is a force majeure situation! What are my options?

Holala vous êtes drôlement confiante . Je ne veux pas vous stresser mais quand même un peu , finalement vous demandez conseil ...5000 € ça fait une somme 😕

Personne n'est capable ici de vous dire si au mois de Février vous ne serez pas obligé de faire 3 semaines de quarantaine dans un hôtel à Phuket avant de commencer votre voyage .

Est-ce vous qui achetez les billets d'avion ? Vers quelle compagnie irez-vous ? Que ferez-vous si la quarantaine de 3 semaines est encore en vigueur et que la compagnie n'annule pas le vol ??

Est-ce que dans ce cas précis la compagnie doit vous rembourser ou pas ????

J'imagine que depuis votre inscription en 2009 sur VF vous avez lu 100 fois les avertissements de ne pas acheter son billet avec une agence de voyage.

Quand j'en parle avec mes amis pour les mettre en garde , ils me répondent toujours " jusqu'à là je n'ai jamais eu de problème , tant que je gagne je joue "

Il faut accepter les règles
