Review of cruise on the Renaissance from August 1-11, 2026
Hello,
On this cruise, the "water package" cost 11.90 € (the price was the same regardless of the cruise duration). But the water was "premium filtered water" without any explanation of what "premium" means (mineralized water?) or where the water came from (desalination?).
Similarly, what’s the difference between this and the free water served at Vatel or available at the buffet (non-mineralized water?)
In short, I think this package is expensive, and it’s outrageous that you can’t buy a bottle of mineral water anymore, even though it’s still listed on the bar menu (in 2025, it was Corsican mineral water Zilia).
Best regards
CFC Parking in Dunkirk
Personally, we’d rather keep our vehicle in a free, supervised parking lot and take a taxi to the model pavilion.
Hi Mum, Did you find a supervised parking lot that can be reserved in Dunkirk? Apparently, there’s no way to book for the duration of the cruise. Best regards

Norway Cruise: Visit Ideas
Thanks, we’ll have a nice buffer in case we need to adjust once we see our tickets. As for evenings, we’re planning to pack some nice but appropriate outfits, but we won’t overpack given the transport from Grenoble to Dunkirk.
Hi there, It’s true that for CFC, the dress code is "Casual Chic," but after three cruises, I can tell you that on board, it’s more "casual" than "chic." Have a great cruise ahead!

"Tropical Odyssey" CFC Renaissance from November 1st to 22nd, 2025
If you book the flight yourself, without going through the cruise line, you’d better leave the day before because if, for any reason beyond your control, that plane is delayed, the ship will have sailed without you. If, on the other hand, the cruise line is in charge of your flight, then the ship will wait for you to board.
Hello, In no case is CFC—or any cruise company—"responsible" for the flight. It’s clearly stated in their terms and conditions. While they often do wait in case of delays, that’s much less likely with cancellations or major delays. For example, in April 2010, many ships left Miami without the Europeans whose flights had been canceled due to the Icelandic volcano eruption. Best regards

Trip from Tenerife South Airport to the port
Hi there,
This site is pretty comprehensive.
How to get from Tenerife South Airport to the city center
Review of Renaissance Cruise (Iberian Flavors) October 18–29, 2025
Apart from the lack of a cruise terminal, the other issue that will arise for CFC in Dunkirk is parking. If several hundred passengers arrive by car in 2026, where will they be able to leave their vehicles in a secure spot like in Marseille? They really shouldn’t wait until the last minute to address this.
Hi there, CFC must have realized the parking issue in Dunkirk because they’ve just sent emails these past few days to future passengers of the first 2026 cruises to ask if they plan to come by car. Best regards

Renaissance Cruise Review (Iberian Flavors) – October 18–29, 2025
Hello,
You said:
"At 8:15 AM, they call the passengers who kept their luggage with them to disembark. The shuttle will take them directly to the train station. These are the first people to disembark."
I was on the Renaissance in Dunkirk and also had a train to catch. But I never heard or read on the disembarkation sheet that the shuttle would take passengers who kept their luggage straight to the station. Otherwise, I would’ve taken it.
By the way, why didn’t you take that first shuttle yourselves? Best regards

Thanks for the reply.

We had an air conditioning problem in our cabin, and at reception they told us that these issues would be resolved during the dry-dock period...
Hopefully that’s the case. On the other hand, I get why CFC says in the press that they’re going to become a truly eco-friendly ship, etc., etc.… and that it’s less exciting to say they’re going to fix the AC, repair water leaks, replace faulty toilets, and so on.

For your info, the Renaissance will be in dry dock in January to address these issues...
Good evening, The Renaissance will indeed be in dry dock in January-February for renovation work. However, this is to equip the ship with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which will significantly reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. This upgrade will allow the Renaissance to sail in areas with very strict environmental regulations, such as certain Norwegian fjords. In addition to the SCR installation, the Renaissance will also install a shore power connection system to reduce polluting emissions during port stops. As for the renovation of public spaces and/or cabins, CFC hasn’t provided any details. Unfortunately, I haven’t read anything concrete on that subject. Best regards.

Hi Michel
Which cabin did you have? Many passengers are reporting issues with faulty air conditioning and water (toilets, showers, etc.) on social media.

Occupancy rate of the Explora Journey ship
.....the advantage when the ship isn’t full is that the staff has to go the extra mile
Good evening, ... not so sure! Because when the ship is usually half-full, the company adjusts the number of crew members to match the occupancy rate. Best regards

MSC Lirica Greek Islands - Egypt Cruise: How to Get to Downtown Limassol?
Hi there,
From the Limassol cruise terminal, there’s a bus (run by Intercity Buses) that takes about 15 minutes to get you downtown. Get off at the last stop (Agios Antonios Church), and you’ll be just a stone’s throw from Limassol Castle and not far from the cathedral and the old port.
Who's been to the Canary Islands and Madeira with Costa?
Hi Josiane,
Yes, there are buses to go back down from the gardens (buses 20, 21, 22), but I understood that none of them go via Funchal port, so we took a taxi back (15 €).
Best regards
Croisière Tour du monde 2021
Bonjour

Cordialement
