Serifos Livadakia or Faros for accommodation and fun activities?
Hi there,
If you stay near the port, you’ll find bars, restaurants, and tavernas. For accommodation, you can choose to stay in an apartment or hotel either by the port or set back a bit on the higher ground behind the restaurants. As for the price, what’s your budget per night? Regarding Chora, as mentioned earlier, the buses run pretty late. But depending on your daughters’ ages, staying near the port might be better. The beaches are sandy—there’s a big one by the port and others nearby that are just as nice.

Mediterranean bike tour: crossing Algeria, Egypt, and Libya
Hi Gregor,
Regarding Libya, we went there in 2007. As soon as we arrived, we had a guide waiting for us at the airport (travel agency requirement). Not a step without a guide except at the hotel. For the desert, another guide, so it wasn’t easy. As for Egypt, I personally saw very few bikes, except for some locals.
Hope this helps.

Where to stay in Paris?
Hi there,
Paris is easily accessible thanks to its metro, buses, and trams, so you can quickly get to all the places you want to visit—and it’s doable on foot too. Just a heads-up: hotels can be pretty expensive. Maybe renting an apartment, even for just 2 nights, could be a good solution.

Looking for a local agency in Cairo (Egypt)
Good evening,
We went to the Bahariya Oasis back in 2003. We booked the "Oasis Panorama Hotel" ourselves and arranged the excursions from there. I just checked their website, and they still offer excursions. We stayed for 4 days, and at the time, the excursions and food were great.
Best regards,
Catherine

Renting a sailboat and sailing in the Cyclades
Hi there,
I’ll start by saying I don’t sail myself, but I can answer three points for you.
First point: the wind does blow very strongly in June or September. Depending on the captain’s experience, sailboats might leave the next day or stay docked for a day or two based on the forecast. Second point: from what I’ve gathered talking to some sailors, most rent out of Athens even for just a week. Third point: opinions vary. What I can tell you is that two islands close to each other—Sifnos and Serifos—are less touristy.

Accessibility of Armenia for People with Reduced Mobility
Hi there,
No difficulties visiting YEREVAN itself. The museums are accessible. The Geghard Monastery is also accessible. Ideally, if you can, rent a car. Not much traffic.

Preparing for my first trip to Greece
Good evening,
As Muriel mentioned earlier, the first week is packed with too much distance, considering that to get to one of the Cyclades islands, you’ll have to return to Piraeus to catch a ferry.
Regarding the three islands mentioned, Milos is quite large, Sifnos is great for hiking, and Naxos is also fairly big. We usually go to Serifos (half an hour from Sifnos), among other places. The beaches are nice, not too crowded, and no cruise ships. Of course, there are big ferries arriving from Piraeus and other islands, but it doesn’t get too busy when passengers disembark. You can also go hiking there.

Solo trip to Mongolia in winter
Good evening,
We also spent 5 weeks in Mongolia. We had a van with a driver. There’s only one main road that’s paved from Ulaanbaatar to the Karakorum site (about 20 km from the capital). The rest of the tracks are rocky or sandy paths. During our stay, we didn’t come across any public transport, just one cyclist. As for accommodation, we camped for a good part of the trip. You can also stay with locals (in a yurt). There are no hotels except in Ulaanbaatar. We were there in June, and depending on the region, the weather changes quite quickly. Our trip was in 2008, so that was a few years ago now! Catherine
