Credit cards for car rentals in Chile
Hi everyone, French travelers in Chile—what credit cards do you use for your various car rentals in the country? I’m traveling in September and was planning to switch my regular debit card (a VISA PREMIER in deferred debit mode) for the deposit guarantee.
My rentals are with Figal in Punta Arenas, Econautos in Arica, and Chilean Rent a Car in Temuco, and all of them want the deposit on a credit card. For me, deferred debit *should* work, but I’ve read comments saying the opposite.
How’s it actually working on the ground with these rental companies right now? Will a deferred debit card work, or not at all?
In France, banks don’t issue credit cards, right—or am I mistaken?

17/09: Flight to Iguazu early in the morning + visit the falls on the Brazilian side
18/09: Visit the falls on the Argentine side
19/09: Flight to Salta + visit Salta
20/09 to 25/09: Northern + Southern Loop in 6 full days (rental car)
26/09 to 28/09: Tolar Grande 3 days (with an agency)
29/09: Flight to Puerto Madryn (arrival in the evening)
30/09: Valdes Peninsula
01/10: Valdes Peninsula + Punta Tombo + overnight bus to Bariloche
02/10 to 07/10: 6 days to see Bariloche and the surrounding area by car (what are the must-sees?)

24 days in Argentina in September: what to visit?
Hi there,
We’ll be in Argentina for 24 days starting mid-September 2025. I’m not sure where to go for this time of year—is Patagonia doable? Iguazu without a doubt, Salta, Peninsula Valdes to see the wildlife? Can we see penguins at that time? We love hiking, thanks for your tips!

Je souhaite retourner en Australie pour 3 semaines en octobre l'année prochaine. J'ai déjà visité Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, GOR, Centre Rouge lors d'un précédent voyage qui avait duré 6 semaines.
Je souhaiterai me pencher sur la partie ouest et/ou nord. Je pense que le Perth-Darwin est irréalisable alors je pose la question d'un itinéraire sympa à faire pour avoir des températures estivales.
J'ai donc besoin de conseils pour m'orienter vers un projet d'itinéraire.
