We're planning our next September vacation for 10 days. We're thinking of going to the Balearic Islands but we're torn between Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza. And most importantly, which areas should we avoid and which should we prioritize, for example in Mallorca? We want to steer clear of places that are too crowded and too urbanized, and we'll be getting around by rental car.

Is it possible to visit two islands in 10 days with a ferry transfer?

We’re planning to spend 15 days in early May in La Gomera, solely for hiking and exploring the island. We like to take our time and not rush to see everything. We’ve booked small hostels or hotels, and our itinerary will be: San Sebastian -> Playa Santiago -> Valle Gran Rey -> Vallehermoso -> back to San Sebastian

We’re hesitating about renting a car—it would certainly give us more flexibility compared to buses, but it also comes with a budget and responsibilities (parking, getting back to the car after a hike, driving fatigue, distances, etc.). Since hiking is our main focus, the ROTHER guidebook shows mostly hikes that are accessible by bus. Is the bus network reliable? Is it restrictive to go without a car, with 2 or 3 nights in each location?

As part of a four-month world trip with our kids (ages 6, 12, and 13), we’ll be spending four weeks in Indonesia. Choosing destinations is so tough because everything is just so appealing! We’ll be spending some time on Java and will likely make a "quick trip" to Borneo for the orangutan reserve. We also want to experience Bali’s culture and the small islands of the Lesser Sundas, with their incredible marine life... but which ones should we prioritize? For a few days of diving and relaxation, do you think we should go for Nusa Penida, the Gili Islands, or Moyo Island? Is Sumbawa complicated to explore? Is it worth taking the time to visit? Can it be crossed by car to then reach Komodo National Park? Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Our goal is to avoid overly touristy spots (but not places that feel too unsafe with the kids), to discover local culture and villages, and to be amazed both underwater and above. Hi everyone. I’m really torn between Tenerife and Rhodes for the week of April 12–19. I’m worried Rhodes might still be a bit chilly in mid-April, and I’m afraid there won’t be much to do in Tenerife?

I’d love to see beautiful sights—whether it’s towns or landscapes—but also lounge by the pool in shorts (or even a swimsuit if possible??). What do you recommend?

Will it be possible to swim in the pool at either (or both) of these destinations?

I’m coming with my little batch of questions, thinking it’s more sociable to ask here than my favorite AI.

1) In the Faroe Islands, you pay in Danish kroner—that’s clear—and mostly by card. But there are also Faroese kronur, and I’d love to bring some back. Are they available at ATMs? There don’t seem to be any real exchange bureaus in the capital.

2) The Faroe Islands aren’t part of the EU roaming agreement. Local SIM cards are supposedly available everywhere, but does anyone have an idea of prices or an operator to recommend?

Hi, Does anyone know if there are several car rental agencies at the port of La Estaca when the ferries arrive? The only one I can find is CICAR, but they're relatively expensive. All the others with reasonable prices are at the airport. Thanks, Gilles

I read on another forum that there might be an issue with insurance for our vehicles in the Faroe Islands.

Apparently, we wouldn’t be covered once we disembark from the ferry. From what I understand, the DK on our green card no longer applies to the Faroe Islands.

Could anyone confirm this?

After watching the *Échappées Belles* episode on this spectacular chain of islands lost in the North Atlantic, we’ve been dreaming of going there. Why not summer 2023?

Since we love road trips for the way they let you really grasp distances, we’re choosing to travel by car and ferry.

It’s not exactly fast, but it’s a great way to see the countryside!

We’ll explore part of the archipelago starting from three bases—charming apartments we rented through a well-known platform...

Hiking, hiking, and more hiking.

Green, green, and more green.

Sunshine, wind, a few raindrops, and a pretty cool climate...

But most of all, a peaceful escape from the hustle of cities in a stunning landscape of cliffs and untouched nature.

During our stay in Lanzarote, we spent a few days in Fuerteventura. We particularly loved:

- The short hike up Volcán Calderon Hondo

- The center of the island, with a stop in Betancuria while driving along the stunning FV30 road

- The unmissable Cofete, a real end-of-the-world vibe. Everyone seems to get there at their own risk in a rental car, by the way.

- The Mirador de Sicasumbre is our favorite viewpoint on Fuerteventura

For the beaches, I’d say you can sum it up like this: the east coast is windy with calm waters, while the west coast is less windy but has big waves.

- East coast beaches: Sotavento and Corralejo - West coast beaches: La Pared and Cofete

No issues bringing our rental car from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura.
