We're leaving for Albania on June 18th. When I validated the flight tickets with Wizz Air on Booking, I only put my son's first name but forgot to include his other three first names on the ticket. On the passport: SURNAME: Dupont, FIRST NAMES: toto titi tutu tata On the flight ticket: SURNAME: Dupont, FIRST NAME: toto I can't seem to reach anyone at Wizz Air to get an answer. Booking and Wizz Air's chat say I need to modify it, but ChatGPT says it should be fine. I wanted to know if he can fly like this or if I need to change his ticket? (It costs 140 €, I know I shouldn't have made a mistake🙁)

Easily accessible from Sal or São Vicente, São Nicolau is the forgotten island of the Barlavento group. With two large villages, volcanoes, jagged peaks, lush valleys, and vast rocky expanses, it has nothing to envy its big sister Santo Antão. It’s slipped under travelers’ radar a bit (in January, there were probably fewer than a hundred European tourists on the whole island), and that’s just fine! Accommodations aren’t overrun by groups like in Santo Antão, and connecting with locals is even easier. But don’t come to São Nicolau for wild nightlife—it’s incredibly peaceful here, and on Sundays, it’s total silence!

A little favorite of mine: Pensão Jardim in Ribeira Brava, the capital; Residencial Palice in Queimadas; and especially Pousada d’Anna in Estância de Brás, where the raging sea crashes against the black lava spurs.

Weather-wise, it was chilly this year but perfect for hiking. If you’re up high (like Monte Gordo), dress warmly or wait for spring! Fog gusts can ground you completely. Trails are generally less marked than in Santo Antão; if you’re wary of apps, you can find a 1:50,000 map at the small travel agency in Tarrafal.

Those who enjoy sharing experiences with other travelers over a Strela or two in the evening might feel a bit frustrated on São Nicolau, but the island’s beauty, the resilience of its farmers in extreme conditions, and the kindness of its people make it a fantastic stop for any visitor to Cape Verde!

hi everyone I’m just starting to plan a trip to Kazakhstan—I’m thinking 4 weeks in summer ’26—and I’m totally in the dark! What route should I take? First off, for my flight ticket, where should I fly into and out of if I want to book soon?

Is it possible to rent a vehicle with a roof rack? Is that generally tolerated? (Maybe around Almaty?)

I love trains, so I’d prefer that mode of transport.

Hi everyone, I’m starting to plan an itinerary for September 2027 focused on Zimbabwe and Zambia. I’d love to visit Gonarezhou National Park—I see there are two sectors: the Mwenezi Region in the south and the area around the Runde River in the north. Should I cover both sectors or just focus on the northern region? For the parks along the Zambezi River, is it better to visit Mana Pools on the Zimbabwe side or Lower Zambezi on the Zambia side? Hello everyone, We’ve decided to head to Quebec next year—it’s been a dream for the whole family (after watching so many travel shows and the like...). There’ll be five of us: 2 adults, 2 teens (16 and 13), and a child (8 years old). We’re all pretty good walkers, though maybe the teens a little less so—it’s just that age, you know? 😊 That said, they’ve got no problem doing 15 km hikes, just not every single day.

We’re planning to go from July 23 to August 14, arriving and departing from Montreal, so almost 3 weeks. I’ve started looking into logistics and accommodation prices, but before I dive into bookings, I’d love some advice on the itinerary. I’ve read a few threads here and there. Our idea is to visit between 3 and 5 different places over the 3 weeks, so that means the same number of accommodations. The goal is to optimize travel as much as possible—I’ve realized that getting around can take a long time. I think the first two days will be in Montreal to adjust to the time difference, and the last two in Quebec City, though that’s not set in stone.

Anyway, I’m not really sure about the route. I’ve got time to plan everything, but I know the longer we wait, the more expensive and scarce accommodations will get. Same goes for budget—we’ve set aside a mid-range budget, flights included: 3k per person (1k for the flight). So if you’ve got any great tips or advice, we’re all ears!

I was thinking of going up the St. Lawrence River, but I’m not sure how long that takes or where to stop. Maybe there are other places worth visiting farther away...

I wanted to share a little feedback from our trip to Guatemala—we got back a month ago, and I really appreciated the well-commented posts here that helped us out. So, in turn, I wanted to share our own little recap.

We’ve traveled quite a bit together (we’re 38 and 42), and Guatemala had been on our radar for a while. But with so much info out there, it was hard to sort through it all—especially since we only had 3 weeks on the ground and didn’t want to waste time.

Here’s the itinerary we followed: Antigua, the Pacific coast, Lake Atitlán, a private coffee and bird reserve, Chichicastenango, Sayaxché, El Remate, Río Dulce, and Lake Izabal.

We rented a 4x4, which was essential given the state of some roads.

Our highlights: * **Pacific coast**: So authentic and preserved. We met sea turtles, cooked and baked coconut bread with a women’s community—such a meaningful exchange—and kayaked through a pristine mangrove full of birds. * **Lake Atitlán**: Even though we were worried it might feel too touristy, a private tour let us discover local crafts, hidden workshops (weaving, pottery), and the stunning views from the boat. * **Sayaxché**: The starting point for the Aguateca and Dos Pilas sites—one of our favorite outings. The site is breathtaking: walking through the canyon and jungle-covered ruins with almost no one around. We stayed in a little bungalow on an island, totally off the grid. * **In Petén**, we met an Itza Maya tribe—an unforgettable day sharing a meal and plant-based healing rituals. Wow. This tribe resisted the conquistadors and still lives traditionally. We also took a tour on Lake Petén and swam at hidden little beaches. Tikal was nice, but we preferred Yaxhá. * **Río Dulce**: A day at a private cocoa plantation—an adventure in a buggy with the owner himself. We harvested cocoa and ate the chocolate paste afterward, then swam in a waterfall on the property. Since it’s private, there was no one else around. A real privilege. * **Boat tour on the Río Dulce**: For us, the highlight. We visited a school where they’re committed to giving kids a solid education while blending Maya rituals. * **Lake Izabal**: A peaceful end to the trip in a magical setting. We visited Quiriguá.

We went through an organizer who knows the country really well. We weren’t initially planning on that, but thanks to her, we had experiences we never would’ve found on our own. On top of that, we actually paid less for the trip overall because of her local rates. I’m not getting anything out of this—I just think it could help other travelers. Her business is Secretplaceincostarica (she also does Costa Rica, which we’re now eager to explore).

On the ground, we felt completely safe. The people are lovely, the roads can be a little chaotic at times, but we loved every minute of it.

Je planifie un voyage en Espagne vers la fin février avec mes parents. Nous arriverons à Madrid puis prendrons une voiture pour visiter l'Andalousie (Cordoue, Grenade, Malaga, Séville) avant de remonter sur Madrid. Mes parents sont agriculteurs et ils aimeraient visiter une ferme pendant leur séjour afin de voir la réalité des producteurs dans un autre pays. Idéalement, il s'agirait d'une ferme de pommes de terres ou de céréales et où quelqu'un parle français ou anglais. J'ai fait quelques recherches, mais je ne trouve rien sur notre trajet. Le système de répartition des avions de la low cost se fait chaque nuit pour la journée suivante a expliqué le dirigeant.. Avant de confirmer que la confiance dans l'avion reviendra vite comme ce fut le cas pour les 787 Dreamliner..................

La question est : Retrouverez vous cette confiance ou irez vous voir ailleurs des compagnies utilisant l'A320 par exemple?

Nous sommes une famille avec 2 filles (11 et 12,5), nous partons en Thailande 2 mois en juillet aout 2020.

Nous envisageons, en plus de la Thailande, nous rendre dans un autre pays (pour la contrainte du visa d'1 mois, mais aussi pour voir "autre chose")

Que feriez vous à notre place? Laos (nord sud), Birmanie? autre chose?

En prenant en compte la météo, mais aussi le budget que nous limitons à 100€/jour pour la famille et pour tout notre périple.

Pour le moment nous pensons, une fois arriver à Bangkok, descendre sur une ile dans le golf de Siam (koh tao/phangan), ensuite faire un tour vers le parc de Khao Sok, quid de la suite...

Aujourd'hui mes questions se tournent vers ce magnifique pays qu'on appelle le Sri Lanka J'aimerais visiter cette île ce mois ci, partir entre le 20 et 30 Novembre 2019 pour une durée de 3 voir 4 semaines sur place.. J'ai déjà pas mal surfé ( sur internet ) et je commence à comprendre le principe des moussons. Toutefois, j'aimerai que certains d'entre vous, qui ont vécu une experience, à la même période, puissent me rassurer sur la météo que je risque de découvrir 🤪

L’itinéraire n'est pas encore établi, mais ça tournera vraisemblablement autour des grand classiques que l'ont peut découvrir sur certains forum/blogs Ville, Montagnes, Peuple, Safari, Plage, Soleil ?😎

On ira certainement à Magic Kingdom : Mais combien de jours ? On ira certainement à Animals : Mais combien de jours ? Quid de EPCOT ? J'ai entendu dire que c'est fort démodé et pas spécialement pour les (petits) enfants 😐 Quid de STUDIO ?

Afin de voir si notre projet voyage serait réalisable et conviendrait à notre famille, je recherche des idées de location de maison ou autre à Bali pour notre famille de 5 personnes. (3 enfants)

Nous aimons le calme mais quand même avoir la possibilité de se déplacer seul à pied pour manger par exemple. A moins d’avoir comme je l’ai lu un logement avec cuisinière et chauffeur?! Mais je pense que le prix est alors très élevé.

Avez-vous des bonnes adresses et lieu à me recommander? Sachant que nous aimerions fuir au maximum le côté (arnaques, piège à touriste, ...) comme j’ai pu le lire à beaucoup de place et que nos vacances se feront en octobre. (A partir du 19 pour 15jours)

Je cherche à collecter témoignages et renseignements sur la ville de Kourou, où je m'apprête à passer les 6 prochains mois de ma vie minimum pour raison professionnelle. Je voyage seule avec mes 26 printemps, chargée d'espoir et d'aventure. Je suis ingénieure en océanographie (ça change des mutations d'enseignant ou du personnel de CSG/CNES... 😛 ). Cependant, je ne suis jamais venue en Guyane alors je compte sur vous pour me conseiller.

J'ai collecté différentes infos sur plusieurs sites mais tout témoignage supplémentaire est bon à prendre avant mon départ prévu pour fin août 2019 ;)

Je souhaiterais en savoir davantage sur les différents quartiers de Kourou (notamment autour des lacs Marie Claire/Bois Chaudat ?), les zones "à risques" (délinquance/cambriolage - j'ai beau cherché sur le net, impossible d'avoir des infos là-dessus), les activités socio-culturelles et sportives (danse ? protection de l'environnement ? sport collectif ?)... bref tout ce qui peut m'être utile pour mon intégration dans ce département. Je prends :) Et puis, vous, comment vous sentez-vous en Guyane ? 🙂

Je recherche aussi une collocation dans ma tranche d'âge (25-35 ans) si possible dans un quartier calme, dans l'idéal loin des quartiers "chauds", si vous êtes intéressés ou avez des connaissances qui pourraient l'être, n'hésitez pas à me contacter 😉 ( je prospecte déjà sur réseaux sociaux, balada.com mais on ne sait jamais !)
