Ma copine et moi partons pour la Tanzanie du 20 mai au 11 juin environs, donc nous avons commencer à préparer notre itinéraire. Par contre, nous avons quelques petites questions. En espèrant que vous pourrez nous aider. Merci.
1- Nous avons fait plusieurs demandes de prix pour les safaris budget camping... Les 2 moins chers jusqu'a present sont Bobby tours et African Heart...Est-ce que quelqu'un a déja utilisé une de ces 2 agences et si oui, comment était-ce? Aussi, est-ce que quelqu'un aurait des agences à nous proposer.
2-Le safari que nous allons faire est de 6 jours, Lac Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro et Tarangire, qu'en pensez-vous.
3- Nous voulons suivre nos cours de plongée advance à Zanzibar ou Pemba. Quelle place choisir? Est-ce que quelqu'un a déjà utilisé les services de Bahari divers...
4- Outre le safari, la plage et la plongée, est-il réelle de prévoir 20$ US par personne par jour si nous voyageons vraiment local.
5- Est-ce que quelqu'un a des endroits sympas à proposer à part un safari et Zanzibar. Exemple, une petite ville sympa, ou autres...

De Cape town aux Victoria falls
Je suis en train de preparer un voyage pour juin 2005 en afrique Australe.
Apres de nombreuses heures de lecture et autres sources de renseignements, je penche vers un itineraire Cape town --> Chutes victoria, via la namibie et le botswana.
Pas mal d'agences propose ce trajet. Alors je souhaite avoir votre avis dessus.
En 4 semaine maxi, les budgets varient de 1500 a 3500 euros.
Je recherche l'aventure (camping et 1 ou 2 nuit de lodge ), en groupe limités ( moins de 12 personnes).
C'est une premiere pour ma femme et moi meme de voyager en Afrique meme si nous avons effectué il y a 2 ans un tour du monde.

Situation en Ethiopie 2005
Je planifie partir pour l'Ethiopie au début 2005. Je commence tout à coup à avoir peur (au niveau de la sécurité) à cause d'histoires que je lis et que j'entends... Est- ce que quelqu'un s'y est rendu récemment? Je sais qu'il n'existe plus beaucoup d'endroits "safe" dans ce monde, mais peut-être que quelqu'un aurait des expériences ou des conseils à me donner... nous partons mon ami et moi, en septembre en Tanzanie mais nous aurions aimé atterrir à Nairobi et passer qq jours ds cette ville... Seulement, on lit partout que Nairobi est une ville très peu sûre, même en pleine journée! On n'est pas des froussards mais on a pas vraiment envie de stresser en vacances..... Vaut-il mieux qu'on oublie cette idée et qu'on atterrisse directement à Dar Es salaam, ou Nairobi, est-elle une chouette ville, avec des coins sympas? Si oui, avez-vous des bonnes adresses??

Here’s my feedback after a recent trip to Ethiopia, organized with a local guide.
Despite a signed quote, months of prep exchanges (over eight months!), and phone calls right up to departure day, the guide didn’t honor the commitments we’d agreed on.
Haile Haftu FANUAILE, manager of the agency www.charmethiopiantours.com—who we’d organized everything with—didn’t meet us as promised when we arrived in Addis Ababa. Without any warning, he sent a different guide to accompany us for the entire trip (with a flimsy excuse).
Several parts of the signed quote weren’t respected:
– Services included in the quote but not provided on-site (meals, water), – Hotels we’d chosen, booked, and paid for were swapped for lower-category places, – Visits were canceled because the timing wasn’t calculated properly, – One stop on the itinerary was dropped without any reason or explanation.
We’d paid a deposit for domestic flights, with a promise to refund any overpayment. A month after returning, 150 € per person (there were three of us) still hasn’t been refunded.
I’m sharing this to warn fellow travelers about the importance of solid guarantees to ensure contracts are actually honored. Double-check everything before committing!

Road conditions in Angola
Hi,
I’m heading to Angola for two weeks starting mid-April and I’d like to rent a car to explore the country, but not a 4x4 to keep my budget in check. I plan to mostly stay in the western part and go as far as the Namibian border. Is it possible to drive in Iona Park without a 4x4, or to get to Kalendula or Piedra Negras? Also, is the Lubango–Huambo–Kuito–Malanje route doable in a city car? Lastly, do gas stations accept Visa?

Which reserves to visit around Durban?

after a 13-day trek between Drakensberg, Lesotho, and the Wild Coast that’ll end in Durban, I’d love to extend the fun for a few more days (4 or 5) by heading to a reserve.
Ideally, it’d offer not just the usual daytime 4x4 safaris but also "morning walks."
I’ve already explored the coast up to St Lucia and done Hluhluwe-Umfolozi, iSimangaliso… so I’d prefer to head south or west instead.
It’d also need to include pickup and drop-off at Durban airport—I don’t feel like renting a car that’ll just sit unused for days.
I’ve done some research and narrowed it down, and Springbok Lodge (Nambiti Game Reserve) caught my eye. => Anyone familiar with it—what do you think? => Any other suggestions? I’d like to avoid Phezulu—it feels more like an amusement park—and Shongweni Nature Reserve seems more focused on family-friendly activities.

It's official—I've got our flight tickets for next October! Two weeks with my 16-year-old son, aiming to see plenty of big animals and birds.

After going through a good chunk of the forum and travel journals about South Africa, I think my itinerary is ready...
I’ve planned 2 days with long drives to minimize time spent outside the parks. These are Sunday the 18th: Johannesburg Airport to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Reserve, and Friday the 23rd: St. Lucia to Nelspruit (staying in South Africa) or as close as possible to visit the Canyon the next day.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the itinerary, especially these 2 days—are they doable or not? Should I book in advance, or will there be places to sleep along the way if we don’t make it to our planned destination? What’s the crowd level in South Africa in October?
As for Kruger, I’ve chosen campsites with camping facilities, prioritizing the "satellite" camps, at least in the northern part!! I’ve planned to change camps almost every day to combine travel and wildlife spotting, but is this the right choice?
