Je viens de m'inscire et j'aurai aimé un peu d'infos sur un voyage que j'envisage de faire au Vietnam au mois de mai 2004 (je pars avec ma mère qui va retourner dans son pays pour la 1ère fois depuis qu'elle y est née, c'est donc un pélerinage car elle en est partie à l'âge de 3 ans !!!!).

Tout d'abord, j'ai un budget de 2000 euros pour 3 semaines par personne. Ce que nous voulons faire c'est visiter le pays du nord au sud et rester 1 semaine à Phan Thiet sa ville natale ou il y a encore de la famille... J'ai trouvé un circuit de 16 jours + 5 jours d'extension à Phan Thiet pour 2050 euros tout compris sur le site internet www.amisvoyages.com (spécialiste de l'Asie), quelqu'un les connait il ? ils sont basés dans le 13ème à Paris. Il y a également www.afatvoyages.fr qui fait un circuit quasi identique... sinon, comme je l'ai lu sur ce forum, cela à l'air assez facile de prendre le vol sec et le circuit sur place, est-ce qu'on économise beaucoup par ce principe et ne perd t'on pas trop de temps à courrir les agences sur place ? Hanoi me semble être une grande ville...

Je suis assez pressée et excitée d'organiser tout ça car c'est la première fois que j'organise un aussi grand voyage à long terme, je suis plutôt du genre à partir au dernier moment avec internet d'habitudes... et j'aimerai tant ne pas être déçue, surtout pour ma mère... Pouvez-vous me donner des conseils sur ce voyage ?

Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.

You’ll need to be experienced with long motorcycle trips, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on how much time we spend sightseeing).

I’m traveling solo by plane to Catania in May and plan to hike the northern side of Etna, starting from Linguaglossa where I’ll arrive by bus. After that, I’d love some info on how to get up to Piano Provenzana (shuttles or hitchhiking), since it seems there’s no public transport except in the summer. I’ve heard different versions about the road conditions and access to the Tsingy during this time, so I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually made this trip during this time of year.

Have you traveled from Morondava → Tsingy between May 1st and 5th? Was the journey doable and safe? Did you have access to the Grands Tsingy, or just the Petits Tsingy?

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

Which region would you recommend? Given that I’ve already traveled quite a bit in this country, and in any case, I’ll be discovering places I don’t know yet. No need for a major tourist hotspot or luxury comfort.

So we won’t take the train—it’s too long in terms of travel time. We’re wondering if it’s more worthwhile to buy the flight tickets on the spot? If so, is the price difference really significant? From what I see on online booking sites, you’re looking at between 35 and 60 € per person for a Krabi/Chiang Mai route.

Here’s the recap of a little week we spent as a couple in Saint Petersburg in early May 2019, just before the *annus horribilis* of Covid. Since then, there’s also been the war in Ukraine, which has made things quite complicated, but tourist stays in Russia are still possible (see the discussion thread for the post-2022 situation). Looking back, early May was a bit too soon in the season—the trees were just starting to bud, and the wind was pretty chilly. It’s better to go at the end of May to enjoy the gardens.

Below is our 5-day itinerary. I’d brought along the inevitable Lonely Planet and the Blue Guide to Saint Petersburg, just to get a basic understanding of the architecture of the buildings I’d be admiring. I’d prepared two complementary routes on G**gle Maps in advance to cover the essentials of the city center in two days. That left the other days completely free for the big highlights: the Hermitage Museum and Peterhof Palace. We tried to adapt based on the weather, visiting Peterhof and its gardens on what was *supposed* to be the nicest day. We’d saved the Hermitage for a day when the weather was really bad, but in the end, we had more or less the same weather every day (sunny but windy and chilly).

Itinerary:

Day 1: City center north of Nevsky Prospect, up to the fortress (Route 1 on the map) Day 2: Peterhof Day 3: City center south of Nevsky Prospect up to Mariinsky (Route 2) Day 4: Canal boat tour during the day + nighttime boat ride on the Neva Day 5: Hermitage

Evening activities:

On the 3rd day, we saw an opera at the Mariinsky I, On the 4th day, we saw a ballet at the Mariinsky II, then headed back to the embankments at half past midnight for a nighttime cruise on the Neva—magical!
