Tout d’abord, je passerai une dizaine de jours à Montpellier pour un congrès à la mi-juin. J’aimerais connaître les principaux attraits de cette région ainsi que le moyen de transport à privilégier.

Par la suite, je serai en Provence pour 2 semaines. J’aimerais élaborer un itinéraire me permettant de découvrir cette merveilleuse région. Y a-t-il un point central à partir duquel on peut poursuivre l’exploration?

Les guides voyages sont nombreux, mais je crains leur aspect plutôt « commercial ». J’apprécie le juste équilibre entre le côté urbain et la campagne, avec toutefois une préférence pour la nature, origine québécoise oblige. Pouvez-vous m’aider?

bon, vu que je me sens un peu bête après avoir écrit ce texte je me dis allons-y carrément maintenant...

j'imagine que vos voyages vont certainement montré des scènes d'injustice ou de violence et je me demande quelles sont vos réactions face à ça.du haut de ma petite expérience (de voyages ou de vie) j'ai tendance à réagir un peu trop spontanément.ce qui bouffe de l'énergie pour pas grand-chose vu que je m'agite dans le vide.ça fait pas avancer ce bordel et je me sens pas mieux après.je vois bien que ce n'est pas ce que vous retenez de vos expéditions et que de très beaux moments vous ont comblé de joie.mais je voudrais m'arrêter sur ce point très délicat.je ne sais pas si je fais bien d'en parler mais j'aimerai avancer dans ma réflexion et y'a rien de mieux que le dialogue pour ça donc je me lance (et je refuse d'avoir des sujets taboos).faites-moi part de vos pensées, de bouquins ou de films qui vont ont aidé à vous forger une opinion. je me rends bien compte que cette discussion est interminable mais donnez-moi une piste.

je m'excuse c'est pas une discussion très marrante mais ça fait aussi partie du voyage et de la vie...(promis après j'arrête)

Quel choix a faire en Rep Dom pour le debut juin, coté Ocean Atlantique ou coté Mer des Caraibes ?

Le climat est il different (pluies par ex) d'un coté de l'ile a l'autre comme c'est parfois le cas en d'autres lieux

Voilà, comme notre communauté de voyageurs s'agrandit et que plusieurs personnes commencent à avoir des affinités entre elles, Sandrine et moi même, on se disait qu'il serait intéréssant de se rencontrer quelque part afin de partager des émotions sur les voyages.

Donc le Samedi 10 Avril, on aimerait organiser une rencontre sur Nice avec un rendez vous à l'hôtel ou Alan travaille www.hotel-petit-palais.com, et ensuite un déjeuner dans un restaurant suivi d'échanges dans les jardins de l'hôtel.

Tout ceci demande à être affiné bien sur et l'on vous tiendra au courant, mais d'ores et déjà nous aimerions connaître les voyageurs qui seraient intéréssés par une telle rencontre et ce serait sympa de nous le faire savoir par message privé sur les pseudos de Alan et Sandrineinde.

A savoir que Alan sera absent du 3 au 20 février ( voyage au Nicaragua ) et Sandrine du 20 février au 20 Mars ( voyage en Inde ), mais nous correspondons suffisamment ensemble pour nous échanger les informations.

Suivant les réponses, nous finaliserons définitivement le projet au 31 Mars et vous fournirons alors tous les renseignements nécéssaires.

Je cherche l'information pour les vols Paris/nice/Paris. D'ici (Montréal) on a pas toutes les compagnies locales qui offrent le service. L'information que j'ai, Air France offre en "one way" le Paris/Nice à environ 150 euros.

Avez-vous d'autres suggestions ou possibilités ?

alors voilà on se casse dans 2 semaines pour un itinéraire Guaté-Salvador et nicaragua.... au nica on voudrait aller du coté de corn island, little c.i etc... on se demande kel est le meilleur le moyen pour rejoindre corn island. Je sais kil est possible de longet le fleuve depuis le costa-rica pour remonter a la frontière du nica ..mais est-ce ke ca vaut la peine ?

Il s'agit de ma première intervention et elle concerne mon premier voyage en Europe. Moi et ma conjointe passerons un peu plus de 3 semaines en France de la mi-juillet à la mi-août environ : 1 semaine à Paris, 1 semaine en Provence-Côte d'Azur (au Lavandou, à 40 km de Toulon environ) et 1 semaine en Périgord (région de Sarlat). Nos billets d'avions sont achetés depuis longtemps (vol Montréal-Paris et Paris-Marseille), tout comme notre voiture (pour le Sud), et nos campings, réservés depuis longtemps aussi. Ce sera un voyage de camping (sauf à Paris, bien sûr!), et nous comptons faire beaucoup de randonnées et de vélo (sans compter la plage).

Cependant, il y a trois jours en Provence où nous ne sommes pas certains de l'endroit où aller et où nous n'avons réservé aucun hébergement (les réservations de moins d'une semaine ne sont pas acceptées). Nous avons d'abord pensé à Aix-en-Provence, pour la ville et pour le massif de la Sainte-Victoire. Étant donné que nous avons une voiture, nous avons la possibilité de choisir un autre endroit qui ne constituerait pas trop un détour vers notre autre destination, le Périgord.

Entre le parc du Lubéron et les gorges du Verdon, quechoisir? Est-ce que notre miniscule véhicule (une Peugeot 106 à 60 cv!) sera en mesure de se rendre en altitude si nous choisissons le Verdon? Y a-t-il d'autres endroits dans la région qui vaillent la peine d'êtres visitées pour 2-3 jours? Enfin, puisque nous n'avons pas pu réserver de camping pour ces 2-3 jours, est-ce que je peux m'attendre à trouver tout de même un emplacement en me présentant sur place?

I already posted not long ago because I was planning to go to Kota Kinabalu, but there’s been a slight change of plans.

I’m still in Malaysia, but I’ll be staying on the peninsular side, so I need some tips/reviews.

Here’s what I’m planning to do:

- Arrive in Kuala Lumpur on August 16th and do some sightseeing. I saw that you can do a firefly and blue tears tour. Is it worth it? If so, how do you recommend getting there or which agency should I book with?

By the way, do you have any particular recommendations for things to do in Kuala Lumpur?

- Next, I’d like to visit Taman Negara for 2D/1N, but I’m not sure how to get there or which agency to book with to organize everything. Should I figure out how to get there first and then find a guide on the spot? We’d like to do the canopy walkway—is there anything else to do there? I know you used to be able to make your own blowpipe at the village—is that still a thing?

- After that, I’d like to head to the Perhentian Islands. How do we get there? Do I need to go back to Kuala Lumpur to take a bus, or can I leave from Taman Negara? Are there overnight buses? Or should we book the ferry?

I wanted to go there for diving—do you have any reviews or tips on that?

Do you also have any activity recommendations there? Like cooking classes, dance lessons, shows, or great snorkeling spots...

- Then we’d go to Kuala Terengganu. Do you know how to get there? How long do you recommend staying in the city? I think you can do rafting and the Cherating River—is it good, and do you have an agency in mind for that? I’m really not sure if it’s worth stopping in this city.

Is it interesting to visit Kapas Island? Or is it better to go straight from the Perhentian Islands to Tioman?

- Tioman: we really want to go for diving, but again, we’re not sure how to get there. And as always, if you have any activity recommendations, I’m all ears.

From there, I’m not sure yet if I’ll go to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, but I thought there were flights from Tioman to Kuala Lumpur, but I can’t find any.

Hi everyone, Kerala experts (especially Marien!) In January, I’m planning another trip to Kerala. We’ll arrive in Kochi and travel up the coast by train to Gokarna. So I’m reaching out to ask if it’s worth stopping for a few days in any of the following spots (not all, of course—just one or two that are really worth it...). From what I’ve seen, few Western tourists stop along this coast, given how little info there is about it: Mahe, Thalassery, Taliparamba, Nileshwar, Bekal, Kasaragod I’m not mentioning Kannur because we’ve already been there, specifically Thottada Beach, and we’re familiar with the southern destinations (Trivandrum, Kovalam, etc.). Hi there, I’m struggling to get back into hiking and I’m considering tackling the GR5 from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean shores in August-September.

Since I can’t plan daily distances in advance, I’ll be bringing gear to bivouac.

I’m not familiar with this route and wanted to get an idea of water resupply options before setting off: are sources and streams still flowing easily in late summer on this GR, or should I prepare for long dry stretches? 😐

We were invited to a friend’s wedding in this beautiful part of Brittany, so we took the opportunity to spend a few days there—first on the Pink Granite Coast and then in Cornwall. Our friends, who are from the Trégor region, had found us a really nice little gîte in Tonquédec, just a stone’s throw from the coast. It was the perfect base for exploring the area’s iconic sites. We stayed in a lovely little house that combined authenticity, comfort, elegance, and tranquility.

Our first trip to the coast was to Ploumanac’h, a small village we discovered thanks to Stéphane Bern’s show. It’s an adorable little fishing port where we parked the car before continuing on foot along the sea. It’s charming—more than that, it’s magical!



Our first walk, our first hike along the coastal path, and our first photos of these massive rocks bathed in light.





The views change with every turn, and so do the surprises—especially the view of the Château de Costaérès.

The path through the woods leads us to the Chapel of Saint Guirec, which overlooks the beach.





This pretty little beach is famous for its oratory, which sits in the middle of the sand and houses the statue of St. Guirec. In the past, young women hoping to marry within the year would often pray to him—they’d stick a needle into his nose! Today, the statue is made of stone, but back then, it was wooden, which must’ve made it easier.





It’s really charming, well-sheltered, and the water is crystal clear. We noticed that everywhere we went!

I’m torn between starting from the Happy Valley (Agouti, Aït Bouguemez) or the southern slope (Skoura, Kalaat El M'Gouna). I tried to go 5 years ago, 2 weeks before COVID, and ended up switching to Siroua based on Willempsie’s advice, given the season... but mid-May should be fine now, right? There haven’t been many recent stories about Norway in winter, and since I had trouble finding info on winter hikes, I thought I’d share a little travel journal.

Back in September 2024, while planning our summer 2025 trip to Norway, I joined some Facebook groups dedicated to travel in Scandinavia and started reading travel blogs. Since winter trips were being planned at the time, I came across posts with stunning photos of northern Norway in winter. I’d always pictured monotonous landscapes of pine forests and frozen lakes, so I was pleasantly surprised to see fjords, mountain ranges, and charming colorful cabins—just like in the Lofoten Islands. Turns out, the vast pine forests are more typical of Finnish Lapland. Norway, north of the Arctic Circle, is actually much more diverse. That was all it took to suggest this destination to my three guys for our winter vacation. After some research, early March seemed ideal—good weather, long enough daylight, and great chances for northern lights. A direct flight from Paris to Tromsø sealed the deal. The only downside? The cost of cars, accommodations, and activities nearly made us back out! Everything except flights is really expensive.

Since our oldest son had an important school deadline in June, he decided to skip the trip, so we ended up going as a trio. We took a Transavia round-trip flight from Orly to Tromsø for an amazing trip from March 1st to 8th.

Hi there, I’ve been visiting Thailand for about twenty years now. We’ve been there around 5-6 times, always spending 2-3 days in BKK and then heading to Koh Samui. This year, we wanted to explore the southeast coast of Thailand for a change—from Hua Hin down to Surat Thani. We were strongly advised against going any further south.

However, we noticed that the beaches in Hua Hin aren’t exactly stunning, and the further south you go, the more beautiful they get—white, fine sand like in Samui. Do you have any recommendations for gorgeous beaches along this coast? Thanks!

So, summer 2025 is when I turn 40, and to mark the occasion, I had the idea of doing a road trip through Northern Spain. Since I’ll be traveling with my two kids (9 and 6½ years old), I’m tied to school holidays, but I’m hoping the northern regions of Spain are a little less crowded than the Costa Brava.

We’d leave from Lyon to reach the Atlantic coast, head down to the Basque Country, cross the Spanish border, and then visit: Cantabria - Asturias - Galicia. It’s not exactly around the corner—I’ve seen that it’s about 1,500 km (one way) from Lyon to Galicia. But for this adventure, I’ve got 3 to 3½ weeks. The twist would be doing it in an electric car, stopping for 2-3 days here and there before moving on (alternating between wild camping and hotels). Why electric? Because it’s my company car, and my employer covers the charging and toll costs. Over 3 weeks of vacation, that adds up to big savings.

Question: Do you think this plan is doable? Aside from the charging stops, does the route seem too ambitious for 3 weeks with two kids? And in July/August, are these regions not too packed?

I’ve just got two tickets for my partner and me to spend 18 days starting from Oaxaca. We arrive on the morning of 10/27 and leave on the afternoon of 11/13.

I’ve already booked a lodge for 7 nights about 20 km from Oaxaca. The idea is to be nearby, especially for Día de los Muertos, which my partner has been dreaming about.

I’ve got a few questions:

- First, do you think renting a car is essential, or are the local bus networks (around Oaxaca) dense and reliable enough? - Roughly how much do taxi rides cost? - After our stay in Oaxaca (where the schedule is still flexible), I plan to head to the Pacific coast around Mazunte, with a goal of visiting a lagoon at night to swim in the bioluminescent algae and possibly witness turtle hatchings. But so far, I haven’t noted much else. Any suggestions for things to do/see around Mazunte, or along the route between Oaxaca and the Pacific coast?
