Cuba ou Mexique au début mars? English translation pending
by Sizzla68 · 2004-01-24 · 3 replies

14 days in Brazil at the end of March/beginning of April 27: itinerary tips
by EmilieLux · 2026-08-26 · 2 replies
Hi everyone, we're heading to Brazil for two weeks during the Easter holidays. Arriving in Rio and departing from São Paulo. Any recommendations for hotels, guides, or must-see spots? I’d like to organize everything myself with reliable local drivers, and I’m looking for nice, comfortable accommodations considering my 5-year-old son. Thanks so much! Emilie
What to visit in Brazil in March?
by Scroutchy · 2026-09-23 · 7 replies
Hi there, we’ve decided to head to Brazil at the end of March for 2.5 weeks with our 13-year-old son. From what I’ve gathered from some research, Rio seems like a great destination at this time of year, and I’m thinking around 4-5 days to explore it—does that sound right to you? Copacabana, Ipanema, Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, maybe a favela tour, or any other ideas?

How’s the best way to get around locally? I’ve heard about Bonito or Angra dos Reis and Ilha Grande—what do you think of those? Fernando de Noronha for snorkeling or even diving? Is Recife a good option at this time of year?

If you’ve got any suggestions, we’re all ears—it’s for our 50th birthdays! :-) Thanks so much for your help and tips. See you soon.
Travel companion for organized trip to China March 2027
by BenoistN · 2026-09-25 · 0 replies
Hello, my mother is looking for a travel companion for an organized trip to China, departing on 7/03 and returning on 18/03. Here are a few details:

The "IMPERIAL CHINA" tour from 07/03 to 18/03/2027, 12 days and 11 nights. She’s looking for a woman interested in this tour and wanting to share a room. 3- and 4-star hotels. There’s a 10% discount for bookings made before the end of September. Trip for seniors (60+)

Let me know if you're interested, and I’ll put you in touch.

Thanks so much! Best regards, Benoist
South Africa in safari mode: February/March 2026
by Holigirl · 2026-04-17 · 173 replies
Hi everyone,

With my girlfriend Christelle, we’ve chosen South Africa for our first trip to Southern Africa, focusing on safaris—after a long debate with a Cape Town/Kruger combo. But that would’ve meant cutting out St Lucia, which would’ve been harder to fit into another trip. And St Lucia—thanks to Michel and all those travel journals—we really wanted to go there.

So our 11-night itinerary ended up like this, mostly shaped by school holidays: - 3 nights in St Lucia - 1 night in Hluhluwe - 1 night at Mkhaya Game Reserve (Eswatini) - 1 night at Hlane Royal National Park (Eswatini) - 3 nights in Kruger (Berg en Dal / Satara / Tamboti) - 1 night at Shindzela Tented Camp in the Timbavati private reserve - 1 final night in Kruger at Lower Sabie

All of this in the off-season and rainy season, just a month after catastrophic floods that killed over 150 people and seriously damaged Kruger’s infrastructure.

I’ll jump straight to St Lucia and skip the loooong journey to get there (with a layover in Frankfurt, landing in Johannesburg, a domestic flight to Durban, and the rest by rental SUV—First Car Rental, perfect, no complaints).

To motivate readers—especially some familiar faces here—I’ll drop in a first photo.

Which direction to explore Patagonia in February-March?
by Amch · 2026-02-20 · 4 replies
Hi, we’re planning to travel through Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) in February and March 2027. From a seasonal and weather perspective, at that time of year and with hiking as our main activity, is it better to explore Patagonia from south to north or the other way around? Thanks in advance. One spot available for a 2-week Namibia road trip in March
by Youdzzz · 2026-01-22 · 0 replies
Calling all adventurers! We’re a group of 3 ready to go, and due to a last-minute cancellation, there’s a 4th spot up for grabs. Our loop itinerary will take us from the capital to the coast (Sandwich Harbor, Swakopmund, etc.), the Damaraland (Spitzkoppe, Brandberg, Twyfelfontein, etc.), Etosha, the local vineyards, and Waterberg. Expect visits, hikes, and safaris. We’ll camp every other night and travel in my own 4x4. I live there, by the way, and know the country like the back of my hand. It never gets old! Departing from Paris on the evening of March 18th, returning to Windhoek on the evening of April 2nd. Hope to see you soon! Newwateur
Travel companion for Oman – 1 month from mid-February to mid-March
by Marleyn · 2026-01-12 · 1 reply
Hi there, I’m looking for a female co-traveler to join me in Oman for a month, from mid-February to mid-March. We’ll rent a Toyota 4X4 locally for 1 050 € for the month—I’ll be driving the vehicle. At the moment, there are two vehicles in our group, with a gentleman who’s going for the 4th time. We’re planning on free camping on-site, alternating with guesthouse stays roughly every 8 days. Planned itinerary: Muscat, heading south to the Empty Quarter desert, then back up along the coast, with canyon swims along the way, and the Hajar Mountains on the return to Muscat. I’m a 70-year-old woman, experienced in travel. Drop me a line for more details. Thanks!
What to pack for a trip to New Zealand in March?
by Toppich · 2026-01-06 · 4 replies
hi After reading quite a few posts and buying a guidebook, I’m still struggling to finalize my suitcase. Given that we’ll be visiting both islands during our road trip and suitcases aren’t exactly expandable, I’ve noted that temperatures can be changeable—but should I pack more winter clothes than summer ones? Thanks for your help
Travel companions for the Egyptian desert in March 2026
by Mile · 2025-12-05 · 2 replies
Here I am, 80 years old with two trips to Egypt already under my belt, but I still dream of deserts and a bit of adventure. So, I’ve bought my flight ticket for March 4th, returning on the 18th (arrival in Cairo). My itinerary: 05.03. GEM 06.03. FAYUM OASIS WITH THE VALLEY OF THE WHALES 07. & 08.03. WHITE AND BLACK DESERT 9 & 10.03. ALEXANDRIA, DEPARTURE IN THE EVENING FOR SIWA 11-13.03. SIWA, DEPARTURE IN THE EVENING FOR CAIRO 14-18.03. CAIRO THE ITINERARY IS MORE OR LESS SET.

Since desert trips can’t be done alone, I’m looking for a travel companion (male or female) for these parts of the trip, but I’m also open to sharing the entire journey. Everything’s negotiable as long as everyone’s clear about what they do or don’t want to do. If anyone’s interested in this itinerary, you can contact me via private message so we can get to know each other and see if our plans align. Just so you know, these desert trips are done with a 4x4, driver, guide, and all the logistics that come with it. All of that comes at a price, which is quite high if you’re traveling solo—that’s why sharing makes sense. Plus, traveling as a pair or even a trio is great for sharing the emotions of the journey.

I’ve got a lot of travel experience, and even at 80, I’m still sharp and full of enthusiasm to start this trip, which I hope won’t be my last.

Looking forward to hearing from you, Mimi
Bike Trip: Looking for a relaxed travel companion for the EuroVelo 6 – mid-March to June
by Vanenfamille · 2025-11-28 · 0 replies
Hi there, I’m planning to leave Avignon around March 15 (± a few days) to follow the EuroVelo 6 all the way to the Black Sea. The trip should take about 3 months. I’ll be riding a mechanical touring bike, no electric assist, and I’d like to keep a relaxed pace, between 50 and 80 km per day, depending on how I feel, the weather, and the people I meet along the way. I’ve traveled by bike before, but never for this long—it’s a fun challenge I’m setting for myself, no pressure, just to enjoy the journey and the experience. I’m simply looking for someone who shares the same vibe: taking it slow, riding without rushing, soaking in the landscapes, chatting when it feels right, and having quiet moments when needed… basically, a companion who values the spirit of travel over performance. Indicative age: around mine (64 years old), but that’s not a strict rule—the main thing is sharing the same approach to travel. If this adventure speaks to you, feel free to reach out directly at: 📧 supervan@laposte.net Looking forward to chatting! !
Sharing private "swim with dolphins" outing on March 25, 2025
by Turcohelene · 2025-01-22 · 0 replies
Hi there!! We’ll be on vacation in Mauritius from March 18 to 29 and have booked a private outing to swim with dolphins on March 25. The price for this outing is 430 € whether there are 2 or 4 of us. Right now, it’s just the two of us, and we’d be up for sharing this experience with two other people (which would bring the price down to about 110 € per person). The provider is okay with this.

We chose this option because the providers are usually very respectful of the animals. It also lets us leave early (5:30 AM) to be the first to see the dolphins before the horde of more "touristy" boats arrives (around 7:30 AM) and swarms the animals. (I’ve experienced this—and really didn’t enjoy it—in Malaysia with turtles, and I don’t want to go through that again.) The outing lasts 3 hours (60 to 90 minutes with the dolphins, then a snorkeling spot, then Crystal Rock).

If you're interested...

See you soon! !

Weather in central and northern Vietnam in February-March
by Bernard33 · 2024-10-21 · 14 replies
Hi everyone, The topic has already been discussed, but it was about ten years ago (I haven’t seen any more recent replies). We’re planning to visit Vietnam for the first time from February 21 to March 7, 2025, most likely... We were thinking of exploring the central and northern regions. However, we’ve read a lot of conflicting things about the weather in the North, like Hanoi, at this time of year: “it’s quite nice, around 20-22°C” or “it’s cold, bring socks and a sweater.” But we were hoping to escape winter for a couple of months in a warm place... What do you think—those of you who live there or visit regularly? If it’s better to focus on the Central and Southern regions during these same dates, what shouldn’t we miss? Thanks in advance to the community! Best regards, Bernard

MSC Seaside: port d'embarquement à port Canaveral le 28 mars 2021 English translation pending
by Alexandre867 · 2020-06-28 · 2 replies
