Bonjour 🙂 Nous partons à deux pour l'Inde du Nord dans trois semaines, pour 25 jours. Au programme, Delhi-Varanasi-Agra-Rajasthan-Bombay. Nous comptons voyager essentiellement en train et en bus, par contre nous aimerions pouvoir louer des motos au Rajasthan pour nous sentir encore plus libres dans nos ballades et visites. Soit nous poserons nos sacs dans une guest sympa et nous partirons pour de petits trips dans les différentes villes à voir, soit nous louerons des motos dans différentes villes pour graviter autour... Cela dépendra des lieux qui nous inspirent une fois sur place et, surtout, des possibilités de louer ou non des motos. Or, j'ai l'impression que cela ne se fait pas. Quelques discussions évoquent des locations de motos dans les grandes villes pour partir plusieurs semaines au Rajasthan, mais pas de locations sur place. Quelqu'un pourrait-il me renseigner à ce sujet? Merci d'avance voyageurs! 😉

En lisant mon guide, j'ai appris avec joie qu'il existait plus de 500 variétés de mangues en Inde... Or, je raffole des mangues ! Je ne prétends pas déguster les 500 variétés (quoique...), mai bon, certains d'entre vous ont peut être des conseils à donner (quelles variétés de mangues trouve t-on à cette saison en inde du nord, lesquelles préférez vous...). J'attends avec impatience anecdotes, conseils, tout ce que vous pourrez me raconter sur ce sujet passionnant !!!!

Nous partons du 15 mai au 15 juin de Delhi direction Katmandou. Nous avons prévu une halte à Agra pour le Taj Mahal puis Khajuraho et Bénarès. Comment se rendre de Varanasi à Katmandou de la façon la plus simple sans perdre trop de temps, sans utiliser l'avion puisuqe nous avons passé 3 jours à Katmandou? Le visa pour le Népal, comment l'obtenir sans perdre de temps? Quelle température à Katmandou fin mai et dans le nord de l'Inde que nous comptons visiter?

Je commence à préparer un voyage "cyclocamping" début 2008 pour marquer mes 50 ans. Il s'agira de traverser l'Amérique du Sud de LIMA à RIO DE JANEIRO en passant par LA PAZ et ASUNCION. Je prévois 3 mois de voyage à raison d'une moyenne de 60 km/ jour avec un jour de repos par semaine en intégrant 2 périodes de 1 semaine de repos à des endroits stratégiques. J'ai déjà testé ce type de voyage en Irlande ( tour en 3 semaines à raison de 100kms/jour 1800 kms total) et dans ma région frontalière avec un périple de 2 semaines (Est de la France, LUXEMBOURG, ALLEMAGNE). Je suis fonctionnaire et j'épargne du temps pour réaliser ce projet.

Je voudrais effectuer ce périple dans les meilleurs conditions aussi je me donne 2 ans à partir de maintenant pour me préparer psychologiquement et techniquement.

Aujourd'hui j'en suis au départ (pour mars 2008)et à la traversée du PEROU. Aussi je m'adresse à ceux ou à celles qui connaissent cette région pour me conseiller sachant que je suis parfaitement conscient des problèmes liés à l'altitude. Physiquement je suis un marathonien et assez costaud en vélo. Je pensais relier la PAZ en passant par LA OROYA HUANCAYO HUANCAVELICO AYACUCHO ABANCAY CUZCO JULIACA PUNO ou alors par PISCO NAZCA et remonter vers CUZCO Questions: Quel est le meilleur trajet d'un point de vue touristique? Est ce bon au niveau de la saison ? Quelles sont les temprératures et conditions météo à cette époque de l'année ? Il y aura par la suite beaucoup d'autres questions ou demandes d'avis... D'autre part je me prépare pour un raid solitaire mais si quelqu'un souhaiterait participer prendre contact au cas où .... MERCI EN ATTENDANT

Nous comptons être à Darjeeling et dans le Sikkim après un périple dans le Rjastan, Agra et Bénares durant le mois de Janvier. Nous avons essayé de trouver la température moyenne début Février dans le Sikkim et Darjeeling, mais on a pas trouvé grand choe. Quelqu'un pourrait il nous éclairer sur le temps qu'il fait à peu près à cette saison. Bonjour a tous! je poursuis mon voyage en inde... apres Delhi, Mathura et Vrindavan me voila a Agra et je compte partir d ici deux jour, je ne sais encore pas trop comment pour KAjuraho, si vous connaissez le meilleur moyen je suis a l ecoute! et si vous avez une bonne adresse de guest house pas cher ca m arrangerai aussi bcp et m eviterai la galere des rickshaw qui vous enmennent la ou ils ont des commissions (et pas franchement bon rapport qualite/prix pour ce ke j ai experimente). Je pars en Inde du 12 au 17 février pour organiser un séminaire à Agra pour le boulot. Bien sûr, j'ai bloqué les 10 jours suivants pour découvrir ce pays. Ma question s'adresse à ceux qui connaissent déjà l'Inde;

En 10 jours: quel itinéraire préférer sachant que j'ai aussi envie de buller et de m'imprégner de l'ambiance qui règne. (c'est à dire ne pas courrir des marchés et les sites touristique, enfin juste ce qu'il faut)

Préférer l'Inde du Sud ou l'Inde du Nord?

Je suis assez tenté par une escale sur une plage avec une ambiance plus festive, que conseillez-vous?

Je voudrais que ce voyage me donne envie d'y retourner...

e vais en inde 2 semaines au mois de juillet nous sommes 2 personnes, et voulons faire le rajasthan; delhi agra jaipur udhaipur jodhpur jaisalmer bikaner et mandawa, pour l instant nous avond reserver que le billet d avion, j ai contacter une agence de voyage a delhi et cette agence nous a proposer une prix de 2600 frs par personne pour la voiture avec chauffeur et hotel avec petit dej pour ce circuit. que pensez vous de cette formule et de ce prix. c est la premiere fois que nous allons en inde. dois je plutot prendre que la voiture avec le chauffeur et nous debrouiller par nous meme pour l hebergement?

Je pensais faire un périple du style: 1> Soit Ariivée DELHI -> AGRA - > VARANSI -> PATNA -> KHAJURAHO -> Rajasthan -> Ladakh 2> Soit Arrivée DELHI - rajastan -> varansi -> Haridwar -> ladakh

J'aimerai vraiment passer au Rajasthan par contre on m'a dit que c'était un peu hot à cette saisson : Préférable d'y aller direct en arrivant début Mai ou alors plus tard?

Du fait de la mousson, le quel vous semble préférable pour éviter les trombes d'eau et les trop grosses chaleurs. On m'a aussi dit qu'il n'était possible de passer au Ladakh quà partir de fin Juin, Est-ce vrai?

Hi, I’m looking for an organized tour in Northern India that goes through Agra (of course!) over about twenty days, prioritizing 2-day stops given the long distances or flights. So far, my search has led me to these tours: Intimate Rajasthan + Ganges Valley Intimate Rajasthan and Goa Confidential Rajasthan + Goa circuit The number of kilometers is still pretty overwhelming and a bit scary. We traveled as a couple from October 20 to December 11, 2025, for our second trip to India and our first time in Rajasthan, plus Mathura and Agra, which are in Uttar Pradesh but right on the border, and a 4-day flight hop to Varanasi. Here’s a non-detailed trip report—just to share some info we found useful for other travelers, along with a few places and addresses we particularly enjoyed. First off, a big thank you to (I’m using usernames) Aleph240758, Solene40, Montagnard74, and Pagaljavab, who took the time to reply to me. Some of them even take the time to create detailed and illustrated travel stories. Since I only started planning the trip in mid-August, I didn’t have much time and used the trip reports on VoyageForum to build our itinerary. One more note: everyone travels differently and has their own preferences... so I’ll just share our personal feelings, which are obviously subjective.

We bought a physical SIM card upon arriving at the airport. The Airtel stand only offers one package for 500 rupees (just under 5 €) for 28 days, with 1.5 GB of data, unlimited national SMS, and calls—more than enough. Contrary to what we’d read, we asked for activation at the counter, and it was active within 10 minutes. The SIM worked well everywhere. Watch out—like in all airports, there’s a tendency to take advantage of tourists. The Airtel counter offers to exchange money directly, and we saw people paying 20 € for the SIM.

Since we arrived at night, the metro wasn’t running anymore. Plus, if you don’t know the city, we’d recommend taking a prepaid taxi—the price is fixed, and the driver knows the destination. Be careful: the prepaid taxi counter is on the right as you exit the hall, with large fixed signs above. Many counters put out a card on the desk saying "prepaid taxi," and even the Airtel stand tries to offer supposedly prepaid taxis, which is completely false. The price they ask for could be double or triple.

Here’s an app that was super useful for us In most big cities, we used "Rapido," an Indian app like Uber, to book auto-rickshaws (you can also book motorbikes or cars). You need a local phone number for this. The big advantage? The price is fixed, though you can still leave a tip. It tracks your ride, and most importantly, the destination is entered—way more practical than hailing an auto-rickshaw on the street, where the driver says "yes, yes," gives a price, and then doesn’t know where to go once you’re on the way. No need to enter a credit card. There’s also OlaCabs, which is similar, but we couldn’t get it to work.

For transportation between stops, we used government buses (RSRTC, blue buses), sometimes taxis via apps or by asking the guesthouse for visits and hard-to-reach places. This choice was really personal and made on the spot. - **Pros:** Buses leave almost every 30 minutes everywhere, giving you a lot of freedom. Every time we left from the bus station (bus stand), we had seats. Several times, we even got to sit in the driver’s cabin! The trip takes longer than a taxi, but not *that* much longer. The price is ridiculously low—1.30 € for 100 km for men, 70 cents for women. The bus stations are in the city centers, unlike many private bus companies. We met some great people. - **Cons:** It’s not exactly clean, and you’re obviously not in the comfort of a taxi. It’s not door-to-door service, so you need to travel light. You can’t stop along the way. If you need to catch the bus mid-route, it’s usually full, and you’ll have to elbow your way in without hesitation. For a short trip, I think hiring a taxi for the whole stay makes sense. Like I said, there’s no one-size-fits-all choice, but there’s no need to be apprehensive about taking public buses.

Here’s our route map, showing the number of nights spent at each stop. Compared to our initial plan, we slept one night in Barmer instead of two because we had time to visit the market in the afternoon, saw the Kiradu site the next morning, and didn’t see the point in staying longer. We cut two of the six nights in Shekhawati. After our flight to Varanasi was canceled, we had to stay in Delhi, which actually turned out well—it let us arrive in Varanasi earlier and more rested. The timing worked well for us, with longer stops in Bundi and Udaipur.

I won’t go into detail about each stop here, but I’d be happy to answer any questions. The accommodations and restaurants mentioned are the ones that had that little something extra, and the hearts (❤️❤️❤️) mark the sites we particularly loved.

Agra Accommodation: Shivalayaa - The Divine Abode, 16 €/night with breakfast on Booking—welcoming, clean, close to the Taj Mahal - Mausoleum of Akbar the Great (in Sikandra) ❤️❤️❤️ - Mausoleum of Itimad-ud-Daulah (mini Taj) ❤️❤️❤️ - Visit the Taj early in the morning (closed on Fridays) ❤️❤️❤️ - Agra Fort ❤️❤️❤️

Dholpur - Machkund Temple with its water body - Clock Tower Ghanta Ghar - Royal stepwell Dhaulpur Bavdi

Karauli - City Palace, private visit with a guard ❤️❤️❤️ - Shri Madan Mohan Temple for the puja starting at 5:30 PM ❤️❤️❤️ - Wandering the streets We loved this stop, which is off the main tourist trail, for its pleasant atmosphere

Bhandarej This is a stop as a starting point to visit the Chand Baori stepwell in Abhaneri ❤️❤️❤️ Accommodation: Bhadrawati Palace, 53 €/night with breakfast in Bhandarej—nice, an old palace, warm welcome, booked via Hotels.com We were the only guests and had dinner with the current manager, the grandson of the Maharaja. There’s a pretty stepwell in the village, and we visited a tiny neighborhood temple where we were invited to join in the singing and dancing. Walking through the market was really enjoyable because of the kindness of the locals, who aren’t used to tourism ❤️❤️❤️

Jaipur - Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - Jal Mahal - Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan ❤️❤️❤️ - Amber Fort ❤️❤️❤️ - Panna Meena Ka Kund stepwell - Galta Ji Temple (Monkey Temple) ❤️❤️❤️ - Bagru, 33 km away: visit to a fabric printing workshop with block prints (I’d noted some addresses on Google Maps). The first workshop wasn’t very welcoming and had no workers because of the humid weather. We were lucky to find another, more welcoming workshop. When the sun came out, the three female workers arrived and started their work—it was a great visit ❤️❤️❤️.

Bundi Accommodation: Hotel Bundi Inn, 25 €/night with breakfast—lovely room in a haveli, good meals with a rooftop view of the fort - Garh Palace Don’t miss: at the exit of the palace, to the left, you can access a beautiful garden with a pool and, at the back, a large hall called Chitrashala ❤️❤️❤️ - Raniji Ki Baori ❤️❤️❤️ - Nahar Dhunk Ki Baori - Chaurasi Khambun Ki Chhatri (cenotaph with 84 pillars) - Ksar Bagh, an interesting set of royal cenotaphs at the end of Jait Sagar Lake. On the other hand, we could’ve skipped Sukh Mahal and its museum. Bundi is still pleasant but is no longer a secret spot.

Looking for female travel companions (ideally 4) Departure mid-February for 4 to 6 weeks, flight to Delhi, domestic flight to Bangalore, stay in Auroville. Then off to Udaipur, Agra. Stay in Rishikesh, visit Haridwar. Visit Amritsar, Dharamshala. Return to Delhi. The itinerary can be adjusted based on the travel companions. Backpacking trip preferred, mid-range budget. I’m heading to Japan with my partner in November 2025. This will be my second trip there and his first.

I was planning to go from Tokyo to Matsumoto, which I haven’t visited before, and from there, check out Shirahone Onsen and then hike from Magome to Tsumago. However, after reading several travel journals, I’ve realized that the village of Shirakawa-go and its surroundings look amazing. Back in 2006, I visited Takayama, which I loved, but I don’t want to stay there again.

To visit the places mentioned above (Shirahone Onsen, Shirakawa-go, Magome, and Tsumago), I’m thinking that a car might be more convenient than public transport, especially for getting from Shirakawa-go to Magome. Could you confirm if that’s the case? If so, is it easy to rent a car for a few days to do a loop starting from Matsumoto?

Nous avions des nuits d'hôtels réservées en Avril via Booking com sur Pattaya, nous les avons annulé suite à la proposition de Booking et avons été intégralement remboursé dans les trois jours directement sur notre compte. Bravo à Booking com pour ce choix laissé aux clients. Par contre nous avions aussi des nuits d'h^tels réservées via Agoda là rien ne bouge sur la question à notre connaissance ? Bonne lecture. Jopat

Nous allons parti du fin avril/début mai avec ma copine en Inde et j'aimerai avoir vos avis sur notre trajet. Voilà, je me suis basé sur les différentes informations que j'ai trouvé sur le net pour le temps à passer dans chaque ville mais c'est compliqué de savoir s'il faut rester plus ou moins à chaque fois. Je pense que j'ai peut-être mis un jour de trop à Jaipur que je voulais déplacer à Jodhpur ou New Delhi.

Qu'est-ce que vous en pensez ? Je suis ouvert à tout changement :)
