Nous retournons en Thailande cet été pour la 18em fois Avant le choc de retrouver koh Samui et Phan-Ngan européanisés (ou ne sommes plus retourné depuis 12 ans) J'ai l'idée de flaner le long de la côte est entre Surat Thani et NaKhon Si Thammarat. On part au chili dimanche pour 2 semaines et demi mais le problème c'est qu'on doit réserver les pass aeriens dimanche avec iberia (qui ont des arrangements avec lan chile) et qu'on ne sait pas comment faire en temps et dans quel sens...Nous voulons marcher 3 à 5 jours dans le parc torres del paine, aller à el calafate en argentine, passer 2 ou 3 jours vers Puerto Mont, monter quelques jours à Atacama pour revenir à Santiago.(et si on a le temps, voir une pinguinerie). Vu d'ici, c'est facile, on sait ce que l'on veut faire mais le problème est d'accorder les horaires de bus aux jours sur place et aux horaires d'avion (avion de santiago à puerto natales ou puntas arenas, de puerto natales à puerto mont, de puerto mont à san pedro de atacama puis retour à santiago ; bus de puntas arenas à puerto natales s'il on est obligé, et de puerto natales à el calafate...). Si vous avez quelques renseignements sur les horaires de bus ou d'avion ou s'il faut passer + de temps à un endroit, merci de me répondre!!!

bonjour, je suis désesperée.je pars l"année prochaine au chili et je sais de moins en moins où je veux aller. on part 24 jours .j'hésite entre 3 formules:1(8 jours patagonie, valparaiso et santiago:famille, 8 jours au nord) 2)argentine-patagonie, remonter sur chiloe et région des lacs et terminer par valparaiso-santiago 3)le nord, la serena et terminer par valparaiso-santiago je suis effarée par le prix des vols.quand j'ai un tuyau, ça ne va pas.(air madrid de bruxelles, je ne trouve rien.il parait que c'est moins cher mais je ne vois cela qu'à partir de madrid)je n'arrive pas à trouver de formules pass pour les vols intérieurs.Apparmment, les prix des coupons dépendent des km.Pour le moment, j'arrive à 1500 euros pour 1 vol et 3 vols intérieurs. Bref, je nage dans l'indécision totale. Qui peut me donner des tuyaux pour la Belgique? Par soi-meme, ne perd-on pas trop de temps sur place, pour les transferts? PEROU:Visite de LimaCuzco, région du machu picchu - Puno/ lac titicaca BOLIVIE - La paz et environs - sucre et potosi - altiplano (uyuni) CHILI - San Pedro de Atacama & environs - Valparaiso - Puerto montt & ile de chiloe - Ile de Paques (tout dependant du prix du billet d'avion) - Santiago retour au canada

Si non j'arriverais a Santiago et ferais tout le sud et l'ile de paques.........en 7 semaines également!

A partir de El Calafate j'hésite : partir en avion à Ushuaia (y rester 1 jour) puis avion jusqu' a Puerto Montt ou ne pas aller à Ushuaia (et gagner 1 jour ou 2 pour avoir plus de temps sur le reste du voyage)et prendre un avion El Calafate-Punta Arena puis avion jusqu'à Puerto Montt. Mais je n'arrive pas à être sûr si il y a des liaisons aériennes entre El Calafate et Punta Arena ? Visiblement pas( j'ai regardé les sites web des compagnies LADE, LAPA, Aerolineas Ar., LAN

Votre avis ?

Je peux également prendre le bus de El Calafate à Punta Arena, mais si il y a un avion je songe à le prendre.

Nous nous rendons en Argentine et Chili pour 7 semaines en novembre 2005 avec nos 2 enfants 7 et 2.5 ans . on arrive à Buenos Aires avec Brittish Airways et on repart de Santiago avec Lan Airlines.

On aurait souhaité faire en avion : Buenos Aires-Trelew/Trelew-Elcalafate/Elcalafate-Bariloche, malheureusement le prix des billets d' avion nous est inabordable ;2200Euros avec Aerolineas Argentinas .

Mon copain et moi partons pour la Thïlande en janvier prochain. Nous partons du canada via Londre. Nous avons une escale de 12 hres à Londre ouf!!! avant d'arriver à Bkk. Nous vous demandons conseils à savoir s'il y a un bon petit resto ou quelque chose qui vaut le coup d'oeil non loin de l'aéroport. Cela nous permetterait de découvrir un peu ce coin de pays et de nous dégourdir les jambes !

Les tarifs que j`ai trouve depuis internet avoisinent les 300-400 euros.

Savez vous si je pourrais trouver de meilleurs tarifs / offres direcetement dans une agence de Buenos Aires ou si il est preferable de reserver par Internet ?

Je reviens de deux semaines sur l ile de paque et en preparant mon voyage pour y aller je me suis rendu compte que l on trouvait fort peu de renseignements pratiques sur l endroit.

Les prix, il faut passer ar lan chile qui a un monopole sur l ile le prix du billet est comprit entre 530 dollars en s y prenant tres a l avance (2 mois)et en basse saison a 860 dollars, vous pouvez voir ca sur le site de lan chile mais essayez plusieurs fois si le tarif est trop eleve je ne sais pourquoi il change tous les jours ou presque.

Sur l ile tout est cher mieux vaut donc ammener avec soit ce que l on compte manger sur l ile de maniere a trouver une pension ou l on pourra cuisiner. Le prix des hospedajes est compris entre 10 et 45 dollars selon que l on soit en basse ou haute saison, en fait pour negocier des baisse il faut rester longtemps, plus de 5 jours.

On peut visiter une partie des sites a pieds depuis hanga roa la seule ville mais pour le reste point de salut il faut un moyen de transport, un cheval ou un voiture ou encore payer un tour entre 20 et 40 dollars par jours.

L ile de paque est un endroit envoutant tant par ses statues disseminee sur tous sont territoire que par sa localisation au milieu du pacifique ( c est l endroit du monde le plus eloigne de tout terre habitee), ce n est pas une ile du type tahiti avec mer bleue et cocotiers mais c est vraiment une ile vierge que l on peut parcourir a pied a cheval ou en voiture, les paysages y sont encore sauvage et on n y voit pas de beton de plus il n y a que trois mille habitant sur l ile et tout le monde se connait, c est un peu une grande famille et des que vous rencontrez quelqu un c est le cousin la tante ou le neuveux de telle autre personne que vous connaissez. en y restant 13 jours j ai connut beaucoup de monde et ai put apprecier cet endroit ou le temps passe tres tres differement.

En ete l ile est un envahie de touriste et est assez cher mais en hiver (maintenant) ce n est pas invivable.

ps Pour ce qui y vont je recommande chaudement la pension tararaina, tenu par ana et lorenzo tepano, pas besoin d adresse sur l ile on monte dans un taxi et on dit chez qui on va!Il sont tres sympas et vous emmene pecher, de plus comme ils vont un peu partout sur l ile pour vendre les travaux artisanaux de lorenzo on n a pas besoin de payer un tour pour visiter les endroit interessants, il suffit de monter en viture avec eux, prix de 15 dollars avec petit dej a 25 30dollars selon la periode le temps que l on reste, mais c est negociable!

Hi fellow travelers! I’m planning a little 3-week trip to Vietnam in mid-to-late March. It’ll probably be the only time I can go. I enjoyed Thailand but clearly preferred Laos—it was calmer. For Vietnam, I don’t have a precise idea of what I want to see yet, and I’m the type to improvise a bit once I’m there. I’m not super adventurous but I’m curious, and I prefer street food over restaurants, markets and off-the-beaten-path villages over big attractions. But I don’t want to miss the must-sees either. So, given that I’ll only be there for 3 weeks, I’m wondering: should I absolutely stick to either the north or the south? Or is it possible to have a nice, not-too-hectic trip by spending, say, one week in the south and two in the north?... (I’d take a multi-city flight for arrival and departure) What do you think? Our flights are booked, and we’ll arrive in Thailand at the beginning of January.

Originally, we were supposed to spend 14 days there. But after booking the flights and seeing the prices, we’ll now be there for 20 days instead.

Our initial plan was: 2 days in Bangkok 1 day in Ayutthaya 4 days in Chiang Mai 6 days around Krabi

So we have 7 more days to fill. What do you recommend?

An extra day in Bangkok? Adding more days in the north? If so, where? Exploring another region, like Kanchanaburi or Cheow Lan Lake? Traveling north in stages instead of taking the overnight train?

A few extra details about us: For us, vacation isn’t about relaxation—we love walking, exploring, and packed days don’t bother us. Hiking for hours and doing active things is what makes us happy. That said, we also enjoy visiting villages and towns if they’re worth the detour. In Thailand, we’d like to visit temples too. We’re early risers, so our days tend to be long. 🙂 In short, we like to keep things moving during our trips. 😉

Unfortunately, seeing terraced rice fields isn’t possible in January. I read there are rice fields around Sukhothai. Are they green in January?

In the north, do you recommend Doi Inthanon, Huai Nam Dang, or Doi Chiang Dao National Parks? Which one is the most beautiful and best for January?

Hi everyone, We're a family of five: two adults and our three kids (18, 17, and 13 years old). We’ve just bought our flight tickets for Vietnam from August 6th to 26th, 2025. We know it’s not the best month to explore Vietnam, but we don’t have a choice—our vacation is in August! We’ll pack ponchos ;-) I’ve read a lot of blogs online, but I’d love your advice, please: Here’s the itinerary we’re considering: We’ll arrive in Hanoi (2-3 days), and if the weather allows, we’d like to head to Sapa to discover the landscapes, rice terraces, and mountains... (2 days). We’re not planning to book anything (train, hotel, etc.) because we’ll decide based on the weather whether to include this stop or not. Do you think it’s doable to not book anything in Sapa for a family of five? After that, we’re planning to explore Lan Ha Bay and the surrounding areas, Ninh Binh... (4-5 days). I’d love your tips for exploring this area because I’ve read so much that I’m a little overwhelmed... Ideally, we’ll then head down to Hue and Hoi An. We’ll enjoy a few days at the beach (4-5 days). Then Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta (3-4 days). What do you think of this plan for 21 days? If you know any great spots, guides, etc., I’m all ears! Especially for Lan Ha Bay and the surrounding areas, as well as the Mekong Delta. And of course, any great tips you’d like to share. What we commonly call "Halong Bay" is actually made up of three bays. From south to north:

- The small Lan Ha Bay, south and east of Cat Ba Island, inaccessible to large cruise junks because the channels aren’t deep enough for big boats—so it’s more intimate and, above all, cleaner;

- Halong Bay itself, north of Cat Ba, also very beautiful but crowded with tourists since it can accommodate large boats (up to 35 cabins), making it very dirty due to many Asian tourists—except for the Japanese—who throw everything into the water: cigarette butts, bags, empty cans, etc.; - The large Bai Tu Long Bay, north of Halong Bay, characterized by larger islands with beautiful beaches and fewer tourists since it ideally takes 3 days to explore all three bays. PRIORITIZE LAN HA BAY FOR 2 DAYS AND BAI TU LONG BAY FOR THREE. Some travelers want to visit the bay in just one day. Strongly discouraged ! In fact, you need to allow 7 to 8 hours for the round trip between Hanoi and the bay; adding boarding time, you’ll only spend a few hours on a boat and barely scratch the surface of the bay. Plus, one of the most magical moments of the cruise is waking up in the morning surrounded by limestone karsts. Two days/1 night on a junk is the minimum to enjoy the enchanting landscapes. AVOID cheap junks! There’s no secret: cheap = limited comfort, laughable food, and service that’s barely acceptable. Never forget this is a unique site in the world, so it’s worth visiting under the best conditions. Don’t confuse Halong Bay with the "terrestrial Halong Bay" in Ninh Binh (Tam Coc). The first is 110 km north of Hanoi, the second 100 km south, right in the Red River Delta. Both are magnificent, and it’s now possible to take a direct bus from one to the other. To visit the bays, you have two options: - Travel to Cat Ba Island or Halong City on your own and book a junk on-site. We don’t recommend this, as there are many issues—especially overcharging for foreign tourists in ground transport and shortened cruises, not to mention you don’t speak Vietnamese. You’ll end up paying at least the same price as through a Hanoi agency, likely more, since you’re at high risk of being ripped off. - Book an organized tour in Hanoi with a good agency. Given the complexity of traveling from Hanoi to Halong and renting a junk on-site, this is by far the easiest option, with countless possibilities—from private junks (more expensive but with huge advantages) to luxury, superior, and standard group junks. Benefits: with a good agency, you’ll have a hassle-free cruise with no scams, and everything is included in the price: round-trip transfers from your hotel to the boat, guide, junk, all meals, site entries, kayaking, etc.

When it comes to choosing a junk, there are also two options: A private junk is by far the best for many reasons: - You’re the only passengers on board - Smaller than group junks, a private junk can navigate channels inaccessible to large boats and stop at small beaches also off-limits to big vessels - Private junks can anchor wherever the captain chooses, so in a quiet little bay, whereas all large junks are required to spend the night in the same big bay by local police order - Better service and food Of course, these advantages come at a cost—but after all, Halong is a once-in-a-lifetime trip! For luxury private junks, I recommend Bhaya Cruises and Indochina Junks. For superior, one of the best is Oriental Sun (2 cabins/2 bathrooms), owned by the excellent agency Oriental Bridge Travel. Also excellent are the two Dai Duong junks—the 02 with 2 cabins and the 03 with 3.

Group junks range from Deluxe to Superior. Choose a medium-sized junk (8-12 cabins). Among the Deluxe, Bhaya Cruises and Indochina Junks are flawless. For Budget, the superior Swan, Cozy Boutique, and Ocean 7 are great.

Warning: While group junks can be booked once in Hanoi (except during peak season), private junks must be reserved well in advance, especially in high season.

To make your choice and booking easier, the best is to contact Oriental Bridge Travel, which, unlike other agencies that offer every junk imaginable (from the best to the worst), has carefully selected 2 or 3 in each category. Check their website and, in the menu, click all the "Halong" links from "Luxury Private Junks" to "Superior Group Junks."

TRANSPORT TO HALONG BAY

Cruise prices include round-trip transfers between Hanoi and Cat Ba City or Hon Gai. If you want to go to Halong on your own, there are three departure ports for cruises: Cat Ba Island (especially for Lan Ha Bay), Halong City/Bai Chay port (Lan Ha, Halong, and Bai Tu Long), and Cai Rong, which serves only Bai Tu Long Bay. From Hanoi: To Cat Ba, take the Hanoi-Haiphong bus and the Haiphong-Cat Ba speedboat (3-hour journey). This is the fastest option since the boat arrives directly in Cat Ba City. Buy a combined ticket for Hanoi-Haiphong + Haiphong-Cat Ba speedboat. For Halong City, there are frequent direct buses. From other cities: Direct buses from Haiphong or Cat Ba City to Ninh Binh and Sapa. WHERE TO STAY IN CAT BA? If you spend a night in Cat Ba (not essential), there are more and more hotels. Here are the ones I liked among those I’ve visited: 2-star: Cat Ba Dream Impeccable, with a large terrace overlooking Cat Ba Bay, and unbeatable prices: $15-20 for a single/double/twin, $30 for a large triple. The owner is a great cook. 3-star: Hung Long Harbour Brand new and spotless, overlooking Cat Ba Bay. Ask for rooms with a balcony (the suites have very large terraces). Great value for the quality! Single/double: Standard 65 $, Deluxe 80 $, Suite 100 $, extra person: 30 $ There are also several bungalow hotels on the beach: on Monkey Island (3 km from Cat Ba City), the Cat Ba Monkey Island Resort; another on a different island 5 km south of Cat Ba City, the Cat Ba Ocean Beach Resort; and a third, the Cat Ba Beach Resort. In the mountains inside the island, you can stay at the Cat Ba Suoi Goi Resort and the Cat Ba Whisper Bungalows. RESTAURANTS In Cat Ba City, I’ve tried quite a few restaurants—more bad than good. Two excellent floating restaurants in Cat Beo, especially the one on the left. WHAT TO DO? Beyond cruises, there are some interesting sites to visit on the island: · Visit the Cannon Fort: No one goes there, and everyone’s wrong! It’s not far, just behind Cat Ba City on Nui Ngoc Road, the street leading to Cat Beo. You climb to 177 m altitude at the top of a hill with a superb panoramic view of Halong and Lan An Bays. In 1942, the French installed an artillery fort with three 137 mm cannons controlling the passages in the bay; two remain, along with the casemates. It later became an anti-aircraft post during the Vietnam War. Unfortunately, the last time I went, the road was blocked. Still worth a try—great views from the climb. Entry: 50,000 dong, and it’s worth it! · The national park: It covers three-quarters of the island. You can simply stroll or go trekking, especially the 15 km to Viet Hai village. No animals in sight. Just before the park entrance, visit the Viet Hospital, a series of caves remarkably set up as a hospital during the Vietnam War (there was even a natural pool and a cinema room). · The beaches (Cat Cô): The three beautiful beaches in coves at the southern end of Cat Ba City’s esplanade are taken—the first by a children’s water park and the other two by a huge hotel complex.

We’re traveling as a family of three adults for the holidays. After several iterations, here’s the itinerary we’re considering. We’d thought about including Bac Ha or Mai Chau, but in the end, we wanted to avoid excessive travel and rushing around. That’s not our style—we’d rather see less but have time to enjoy what we visit at a relaxed pace. We’ll definitely be back (in a better season) to see some of what we’ll miss this time. Just to note: we’re not motorbike riders, and we’re not the type to start our days at dawn and keep going until nightfall. We go at the pace of the day’s mood and energy. My questions: - Thoughts on the itinerary? - Ninh Binh: where’s the best place to stay to explore mostly on foot, by bike, or by taxi? - Cat Ba to Ninh Binh route: is it better to arrange it through one of our accommodations (departure or arrival) or handle it ourselves? - For the return day between Ninh Binh and Hanoi, I’d like to visit some sights rather than make a direct trip, since we’ll already spend enough time in Ninh Binh and Hanoi. I was thinking of the Perfume Pagoda and possibly Quang Phu Cau. But we’d need a car for the day. Is it better to organize in advance or on the spot? In Hanoi or Ninh Binh? Any driver recommendations? Price ideas? Other suggestions for things to see along the way?

Proposed itinerary:

### Day 1: **Monday, December 23, 2024** - Arrival in Hanoi in the late afternoon. ### Day 2: **Tuesday, December 24 – Hanoi** ### Day 3: **Wednesday, December 25 – Hanoi – Lan Ha Bay** 2-day, 1-night cruise ### Day 4: **Thursday, December 26 – Lan Ha Bay – Cat Ba** - Overnight on Cat Ba Island. ### Day 5: **Friday, December 27 – Cat Ba – Ninh Binh** ### Day 6: **Saturday, December 28 – Ninh Binh** ### Day 7: **Sunday, December 29 – Ninh Binh** ### Day 8: **Monday, December 30 – Ninh Binh – Return to Hanoi** - Stop by the Perfume Pagoda? Possibly add Quang Phu Cau? ### Day 9-10-11: **Tuesday, December 31 – Thursday, January 2** Hanoi – New Year’s Eve ### Day 12: **Friday, January 3 – Departure**
