merci d'avance!
Petite ville Port-Bou à la frontière France-Espagne? English translation pending

Which Nile cruise should we take?
Hi there,
I’m looking for a cruise for two adults over 75 (with meals included, etc.) to visit Egypt—specifically the pyramids along the Nile and the Cairo museum. Looking forward to reading about other travelers’ experiences.
Thanks.
What to see and do in Bilbao for a week?
Hi there,
Can you share your experiences about Bilbao with us? We're planning to go during the last week of April, with our main goal being to visit the Guggenheim Museum. Despite our research, we're not sure if a week is too long or what there really is to see and do in Bilbao. Should we rent a car to explore the surrounding areas? For San Sebastián, it seems there are pretty convenient buses. Would a day trip there and back be doable?
Any advice would be welcome regarding the itinerary, local transportation, hotels, and how long to stay.
Thanks in advance!

4 days in Copenhagen in winter
Hi everyone,
I just published an article with our itinerary for visiting Copenhagen in 4 days during winter (December): day-by-day schedule, practical info (budget, weather, transport, Copenhagen Card), where to stay, plus our thoughts on the must-sees (Nyhavn, The Little Mermaid, Amalienborg, contemporary art museum, botanical garden) and a balanced take on Christiania.
If it can help those planning a city trip: https://aventures-sans-mesaventure.blogspot.com/2026/01/visiter-copenhague-en-4-jours-que-faire.html
Happy planning, and if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer! !
Which way to visit Giza?
Hi there,
We’ll be traveling to Egypt in mid-February and plan to spend a full day on the Giza Plateau: visiting the pyramids site + the new GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum). The question is simple: in what order should we do these two visits? I’m torn: - Pyramids in the morning because it’s less crowded, or in the afternoon for the setting sun? - GEM in the morning since tickets are timed slots, so it’d be easier to stick to the schedule than if we visit the pyramids first (we don’t know exactly how long our visit will take and when we’ll be able to get to the GEM), or in the afternoon? Anyway, I’m looking forward to your suggestions for planning this day!
On another note, the day before, we’ll arrive at our hotel on the Giza Plateau around 2:30 PM. How could we spend the rest of the afternoon (keeping in mind we don’t want to overdo it since we’ll have just flown in from France and had a very short night before!)?
Thanks in advance!

French in Brazil... Macron visits Salvador da Bahia
Yesterday, President Macron visited Salvador da Bahia.
Alongside the obligatory political visit and meeting with all the local bigwigs (the mayor, the governor, and the Minister of Culture, Margarete Menezes), he also took the time to visit museums like the MAM (Museum of Modern Art) and the Museu Afro Brasileiro… for those looking for something to do :/

Brussels or Bruges for a weekend?
Hi! I’m planning a weekend trip in January but I’m torn between Brussels and Bruges.
What do you recommend?
What to see and do in Agadir?
We're heading to Agadir in early December. What outings do you recommend? Just so you know, I have trouble walking (foot paralysis).
Venice: Organizing visits with the Museum Pass issue
This year, I’ve decided—I’m heading to Venice with my 12-year-old daughter between October 23rd and 28th.
Despite my research, I still can’t figure out how the Museum Pass works. I bought it thinking it would give us easier access to some must-see spots.
Now, I’m reading that we need to make a specific time reservation for each museum. When I try to do that, all I can do is pay for our entry tickets *again*.
This is the case for the Doge’s Palace, the Campanile, St. Mark’s Basilica, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
An email to the tourist office didn’t get a helpful response. So now, I’m too nervous to even book a transport pass in advance!!!
If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be amazing.

What to see and do in Lille in 2 days?
Hi everyone,
I’m spending two days in Lille. Any places you’d recommend? I was thinking of visiting Vieux Lille, which I’ve been told about.
Would you have any shops, museums, or typical restaurants to suggest for a great time?
Thanks! Have a nice day

Trip to Amsterdam
Hi everyone!
I wanted to share my experience from a trip to Amsterdam. Spring is coming, and it’s one of my favorite destinations for this season, especially with the Keukenhof in bloom.
There are so many museums to visit and places to see, like Dam Square, the Royal Palace, Museum Square, the Red Light District... Some spots, like the Anne Frank House, require reservations. You can also take walks along the canals or even go on canal cruises.
For museums, I really enjoyed the Rijksmuseum for works by Rembrandt and Vermeer, as well as the Van Gogh Museum (combo tickets are available).

For more nature-focused outings, there’s Vondelpark, Keukenhof Park, and the windmills at Zaanse Schans...
You can find all my photos and details about my trip budget on my travel journal for Amsterdam.

Hi,
I’ll be visiting Vienna in February and I’d love recommendations for temporary exhibitions (it’s not my first trip, so I already know the museums well). Thanks!
Trip to the Amazon
Hi everyone,
I’m planning to spend about a week in the Amazon in April or May—the dates aren’t set yet—flying in and out of Manaus.
I’d love to hear about the must-see spots in Manaus besides the theater and the Amazon Museum.
After that, I’d like to take a boat trip on the Amazon or the Rio Negro to escape the city and find some peace for a 3- or 4-day trek in the forest.
I also saw that the town of Presidente Figueiredo is worth visiting for all the waterfalls nearby.
If you’ve been to Manaus and have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them.
Have a great day, everyone.
NYC-Philadelphia-Washington itinerary in winter
Hi there,
We’re planning a trip to the U.S. in January, with the constraint of needing to be in Washington by February 3rd... Normally, I’m not big on museums or indoor visits, but I think I won’t have much choice in January.
Just to clarify, I’ve already visited NYC (didn’t love it) and Philadelphia (one-day trip, and I *loved* it). My partner has never been to the East Coast.
My initial idea was to drive from NYC to Washington by rental car, stopping in Lancaster County (and a quick detour to Strasburg as a Strasbourger—😁). But the rental car prices are sky-high, plus the hassle of parking (you have to stay on the outskirts of cities to find a spot) and the winter weather. Accommodations around Lancaster were also pretty expensive, so I’ve tweaked the original plan...
Here’s our current itinerary: - Day 1: Arrive in NYC around 4 PM - Days 2–5: NYC - Day 6: Take the bus to Philadelphia, explore Philadelphia - Day 7: Visit Lancaster County with a day rental car from Philadelphia - Day 8: More time in Philadelphia - Day 9: Take the bus to Washington - Days 10–12: Explore Washington - Day 13: Fly home at 10 PM
My main questions: - Is it easy to visit Lancaster County in a day from Philadelphia with a day rental car? - Is there any point in adding a day in Baltimore? - Does this seem logical, or am I missing too much compared to my original plan of driving from NYC to Washington? - Any winter-friendly sightseeing tips for these cities?
Thanks so much for your help—I’m thrilled to be back on the forum! :)

Hi everyone,
I’m spending two days in Angers with my wife. I’ve heard great things about this city, especially how pleasant it is to live there. Could you share some activity ideas to help me explore the city (restaurants, museums, art galleries, places to walk, pubs, etc.)? Just so you know, I’ll be arriving by train.
Thanks for your suggestions! Have a great day, Thierry

Lascaux Caves: Which Replica Should We Visit?
Hi there,
We're really into prehistory and want to visit the cave replica. But there are two—Lascaux 2 and Lascaux 4. What are the differences, and which one should we visit? Plus, there’s also the Prehistory Museum in Les Eyzies. Is that worth checking out too? Thanks for your advice!
