Bonjour, je vais en voyage en République Dominicaine du 30 janvier 2004 au 7 février 2004 (je n'ai pas encore signé le contrat, j'ai jusqu'au 31 oct.) Mais avant, j'aimerais avoir vos commentaires sur cet hôtel. Je sais qu'il y a le Palace qui est un peu mieux, mais c'est presque 200$ de plus...La plage est-elle belle? La température dans ce temps de l'année? Les restos? Les chambres? Le service? Je sais en tout cas que l'animation est super. Et je voulais savoir s'il y a du monde qui ont fait des excursions, tel que l'île Saona, Bavaro Runner (4X4), Isla Catalina et Altos de Chavon, Santo Domingo, Indiana Jones et Manati Park. Y en a-t-il qui ont nagé avec les dauphins? Cela en vaut-il la peine? Moi, c'est mon rêve d'enfant....Merci beaucoup pour vos commentaires :)

SAINT-DOMINGUE (AP) -- Un puissant séisme d'une magnitude préliminaire de 6, 5 sur l'échelle de Richter a secoué la République Dominicaine, bousculant les maisons et envoyant des vagues de secousses ressenties jusque dans l'ouest de Porto-Rico. On ne déplore aucune victime. L'Institut de physique du Globe de Strasbourg lui donne même une magnitude préliminaire de 6, 6 sur l'échelle de Richter. L'épicentre de ce séisme est situé à une dizaine de kilomètres au sud de Puerto Plata, une station balnéaire de la côte nord de la République Dominicaine. A Puerto Plata, la police a précisé que des malades ont été déplacés d'une aile endommagée du principal hôpital de Santiago, une ville située au sud de Puerto Plata. AP ma/v148

on part cet hiver en RD (voyage de noces) et on ne sait pas trop où aller.

Désolé pour les voyageurs mais sur ce coup là, on va faire les gros touristes et profiter du "all-in"... peut-être une autre fois !

bref, on s'était, jusqu'à ce soir, arrêté sur Punta Cana (paradisus ou secret excellence). Mais à en croire les nombreux messages sur ce forum, ces hôtels restent sur-côtés, trop chers et loin des promesses des brochures. Info ou intox ??? Plus étonnant, un internaute a dit que, le matin, la plage était pleine d'algues... vrai ? Cette région n'est-elle pas un piège à touristes ? 😠 Pourtant, il semble que les chambres (d'après les brochures !) soient plus belles, qu'il y a plus d'activités, des petits plus du genre "séjour prestige".

on a pu voir que bayahibe était moins touristique, et que les deux hôtels "iberostar hacienda dominicus" et "viva dominicus" étaient les plus recommandés. Les brochures les détaillent peu. J'imagine que tous les hôtels proposent les mêmes activités mais la différence semble être dans ce qui est inclus ou pas !!!

on a aussi vu sur le forum que les plages de la région de bayahibe étaient artificielles 😮 ! Non sans déconné c'est vrai ? Pourtant, c'est la mer des caraïbes....

Donc, il y a une heure, on était prêt à partir à punta cana, et maintenant c'est la grosse remise en question.

On sait que la région de punta cana est plus venteuse et que la mer est plus virulente, mais y a-t-il une réelle différence avec bayahibe ?

Punta cana est-il aussi beau que les brochures le montrent ? et bayahibe ?

Si l'on recherche un endroit romantique et calme 😊 pour être tranquille à deux et pouvoir sortir de l'hôtel pour voir quand même un minimum la RD, vaut-il mieux aller à bayahibe "iberostar hacienda dominicus" (ou "viva dominicus") ou à punta cana "paradisus" (ou "secret excellence") ?

Je cherche les bons tuyaus et autres bons plans pour faire de mes 15 jours un super souvenir, je remercie d'avance les habitués de cette destination de me conseiller les leurs !

Je cherche aussi à y pratiquer du kite-surf et de la plongée sachant que je serai basé dans un resort (l'hôtel Occidental Grand Flamenco).

Pour info, à 2h du mat' on commence tous juste à s'échauffer donc les discos qui ferment à cette heure-ci sont considérés comme inexistantes... 🙁

Bref, nous sommes à la recherche de bons plans comme des boîtes hors des complèxes mais à proximité qui répondent à nos critères.

We stayed on the island of Gran Canaria during the first three months of 2024. It’s the third Canary Island we’ve visited, after Tenerife and Lanzarote.

We rented an apartment in Temisas. By staying in the same place for such a long period, the total price dropped by 50%.

We also rented a vehicle to make getting around the island easier.

Another fresh travel journal!

The context: For my 60th birthday, I had planned to take my family (kids + partners) for a week in Gran Canaria, at an all-inclusive hotel, but with the firm intention of exploring and hiking. The deal was to meet up at least in the evenings to spend time together, if my pace didn’t suit them. Personally, I’m not into beaches and lazing around, but my daughter-in-law is pretty cool. We were going to be together, do what we liked, and all would be well. Unfortunately, five days before departure, my mother-in-law passed away, and of course, we had to cancel everything. I was able to get a refund for a lot of things, including the hotel despite missing the free cancellation deadline (really cool of them), and I got a one-year credit for the full price of the flight tickets. So, we tried to plan the same thing for my kids, but with their schedules, we couldn’t find a date. I had to find a destination served by Iberia, far enough to use up my credit. We don’t know the Caribbean, we needed sun and a bit of rest, so the Dominican Republic won out. But no way were we going to mess up by staying in an all-inclusive hotel and only visiting the island’s paradise beaches… (we’ll get back to that). So, as usual, I put together a little road trip with a rental car.

Here we go!!!!

Day 1: Crossing the Atlantic Super early departure for Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport. A 3-hour layover in Madrid (my wife’s had enough of flight delays, so I played it safe). Flight to Santo Domingo without any issues. The luggage arrived, the driver I’d booked was there, everything went smoothly. We got to our hotel in the Zona Colonial around 4 PM. Bad luck—it’s on a cute little square where there was supposed to be neighborhood activity in the evening. It’s completely under construction! Too bad! We decided to head to the Malecón, a sort of local Promenade des Anglais, except there are no English people. It’s nice, safe, spacious, and by the ocean. We walked for a while, and as happy hour rolled around, I started my training as an intern in rum-based cocktails. A mojito, classic, but it’s amazing to be sipping the drink in the warmth, right by the big blue. On the way back to the hotel, we grabbed some bananas, ate them in the room, and then bedtime.

The plus: We actually left! The minus: There isn’t one

Hi there, I'm starting a new travel journal with my itinerary and memories in mind, and maybe a few photos if I can find some.

The context:

April 2020, I was supposed to go to Uzbekistan, and October 2020 to Texas: both canceled due to COVID. Summer vacations in 2020 weren’t gonna be fun. Optimistic, I’d rescheduled both trips for roughly the same dates in 2021: the first was canceled again because of COVID, the second due to U.S. entry conditions (still COVID-related!). Summer vacations in 2021 *had* to be more fun, or I was gonna lose it!!! Plus, our parents are dealing with health issues, which is weighing us down—we really need to get away!

So I looked into where we could go, somewhere we could live almost normally. I saw that Madeira had implemented strict COVID measures but that life on the island was pretty chill afterward. For me, Madeira = sun + hiking + landscapes. BINGO.

Day 1: The flight and arrival on the island

Flight with TAP via Lisbon, departing around noon. We wore our masks properly on the plane. (My last flight was to Portugal, and I told myself I’d break the jinx and leave COVID behind us.) Layover in Lisbon, then an afternoon flight to Madeira. The landing went smoothly, no wind. Cristiano Ronaldo Airport in Funchal is known for being one of the trickiest in the world due to crosswinds. The checks were standard, except COVID added an extra step. Before the trip, I had to fill out a questionnaire (Madeira Safe). Once there, a group of young people—probably students—greeted us, each with a tablet. The health questionnaire and vaccine check were super quick. Then we saw a doctor, and just like that, we were wished a great stay. Honestly, it was so well organized that it only took 10 minutes. We wouldn’t put our masks back on until we returned!

A taxi took us to our hotel in the hills above Funchal—a pretty upscale place, which isn’t our usual style, but we needed it this time! Dinner on the hotel terrace with the city at our feet. Amazing!

Bonjour, Il n'est jamais trop tard pour rendre compte de son voyage. Le confinement me laisse enfin du temps pour le faire. Je suis parti le 17 août 2017 et je suis rentré le 7 février 2018. Entre temps, je suis allé en Argentine par cargo puis une fois sur ce continent, j'ai visité l'Uruguay, l'Argentine et le Chili. Durant tout ce voyage, j'ai tenu un carnet journalier. Je me propose de vous le livrer.

je pars pour 15 jours en RD, arrivée a punta cana , je vais y rester 7 jours...j'aimerais quelques pistes pour rejoindre un ou deux points différents, volontiers avec une plage mais quand même un endroit avec une petite ville, las terenas, samana, puerto plata. Il faut que je puisse les rejoindre en bus. je repartirais par saint domingue ou je resterais au moins une nuit (faut il davantage étant donné le peu de jours dont je dispose ?) pour visiter le quartier colonial en même temps que vos indications, si vous pouvez me conseiller un hotel sympa, plutot confortable, mais pas un tout inclus...si je peux trouver autre chose.

Bonjour, est-il nécessaire de réserver tous les trajets inter iles au Cap Vert à l'avance. Peut-on se permettre de compter sur les horaires et dates de départ annoncés et de choisir sa destination au jour le jour si on prévoit de visiter par exemple Santiago, Sao Vicente et Sao Antao en 12 jours? 4 juillet : Arrivée à La Havane

Partis ce matin de Marseille, nous sommes arrivés à Cuba ce même jour grâce au décalage horaire. A l'aéroport les formalités n'ont pris que 5 minutes. Pour les bagages nous avons patienté une quarantaine de minutes. Sortis de l'aéroport nous voyons notre nom sur une pancarte. C'est bon le taxi commandé auprès de la casa est bien là. Climatisé OUF! il est 22 h une chaleur écrasante pire que notre canicule du départ. Nous sommes plongés dans l'ambiance direct ! une vieille voiture, il fait nuit, je n'ai pas vu la marque. Nous circulons sur des axes peu éclairés et une trentaine de minutes plus tard nous arrivons chez nos hôtes Maria et Javier. Très bonne impression ce couple est charmant. Notre chambre est spacieuse. Climatisation + ventilateur. Une douche avec peu de pression mais ça il faudra que l'on s'y habitue car c'est souvent à Cuba. Nous nous mettons au lit vers 23h00 soit 4h00 du matin à Marseille à J+1. Le sommeil est long a venir mais finira par nous prendre.
