Hi everyone, My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news. I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us? • Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia? • Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)? The idea is to know what to expect so we can prepare as best as possible. Thanks for your replies! !

This one-month trip, from January 18 to February 17, 2026, allowed us to visit Mexico City and travel through the states of Puebla, Oaxaca, and Chiapas. We mainly used buses (ADO company) for medium and long distances and colectivos or taxis (or Uber) for shorter trips. Before leaving, I had contacted several people on the ground: Harry, a Vendéan settled in Oaxaca offering, among other things, discoveries of artisan villages or the Monte Albán site, and Oscar in Comitán de Domínguez. I’ll come back to our meeting with Oscar, who runs a local agency (CVL Travel Turismo Alternativo & Corre la voz) and owns a very pleasant hostel, a real highlight of our trip. Our journey took place in 8 stages on a loop starting from Mexico City. The connections between each were made by day or night buses depending on the trip duration. I had booked our seats in advance, either directly on the ADO company’s website or through booking platforms depending on the rates offered. Note that by planning ahead, I was able to benefit from very interesting "Early Booking" rates. There are several comfort classes. For all our trips, I had booked seats in Primera class buses, except for two in GL (Grand Luxe) class. The rates are very reasonable, and the buses turned out to be comfortable or even very comfortable (only the basic seat recline might surprise you).

Our itinerary and number of days per stage: Stage 1 – Mexico City: 4 days Stage 2 – Puebla: 2 days Stage 3 – Oaxaca: 4 days Stage 4 – San Agustinillo: 4 days Stage 5 – San Cristóbal de las Casas: 3 days Stage 6 – Comitán de Domínguez: 6 days Stage 7 – Palenque: 4 days Stage 8 – Mexico City: 2 days If I were to do it again, I’d remove one day from Palenque and add it either to Puebla or San Cristóbal to visit nearby sites or villages, or to San Agustinillo to enjoy one more day by the Pacific Ocean.

Stage 1: Mexico City (2,200 m / 9.2 million inhabitants) We arrived in the Mexican capital around 10:00 PM. The simplified customs process was very quick. After exchanging some money at the airport, we took a taxi to our youth hostel. We got around the capital on foot, of course, but also by metro. Signs are very rare, and we took the train in the wrong direction several times. After a few mistakes, we systematically asked on the platform if we were going the right way. The metro is very affordable. You need to get a rechargeable card (the Tarjeta de Movilidad Integrada) and top it up as needed. This card (less than 1 €) isn’t personal, so there’s no need to get one per person.

Mexico City: Day 1.



Visits and walks of the day (note: many museums are closed on Mondays): The Zócalo or Constitution Square: it’s one of the most beautiful, largest (195m x 240m), and oldest squares in the world. This is where Cortés decided to build the center of the new Spanish city on the site of the former Tenochtitlan market. Stones from the pyramids were used to pave the esplanade and build the surrounding colonial churches and buildings. During our visit, the huge square was covered with (resin) cacti, the theme of the temporary exhibition at the time. Indeed, temporary events or exhibitions take place here throughout the year. It’s also the endpoint for many protest marches.











The cathedral: it’s sinking by one centimeter per year despite massive stabilization work (the collapse of many Mexican buildings—30 cm/year—is due to groundwater pumping). It was built starting in 1571 and completed in... 1813. The modest remains of the Templo Mayor (exterior view): they have high symbolic value, as this monument was the most important in the Mexica Empire.

We then walked through the streets of the historic center to the Santísima Church, unfortunately closed for renovation work. Next, we took the metro to visit one of Mexico’s most important pilgrimage sites: the Insigne y Nacional Basílicas de Santa María de Guadalupe, as well as the Capilla del Cerrito on the hill. The first, dating from the colonial era, is really leaning a lot.



The second, shaped like a rotunda, is very impressive from the inside.



In the basement, there’s a sacred tunic where, in 1531, an image of the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared. A real mystery for scientists, the garment has never deteriorated since that date. Slow-moving conveyor belts allow pilgrims to admire it, preventing crowds from gathering in front of the image for hours. Well thought out!

From the top of the Capilla del Cerrito, you get beautiful views of huge Mexico City.

Hello. In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.

- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).

- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).

- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?

- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.

- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!

- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.

- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.

That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before: - Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

After several attempts searching in local bookshops and online, it seems this guide is no longer published—meaning it’s impossible to find a new French copy. You can find used ones online, but only in English... Lonely Planet has released a new "version" of their New Zealand guide, but it’s not really a "Guide" anymore—it’s called "Best Itineraries."

So, my question: Does anyone have a French-language Lonely Planet New Zealand guide from a not-too-old edition? For sale second-hand?

I’m planning a hiking trip to India in 2025 with my wife and another couple.

We’ll most likely be leaving at the end of April (TBC).

This isn’t my first time hiking abroad, and I’ve often run into parasites that take advantage of the night to bother you (you know what I’m talking about, haha).

I’ve dealt with flies, mosquitoes, and all kinds of critters during my sleep before, but for this trip to India—which could already be pretty hectic—I really want to be prepared and avoid this issue.

If you know where I can find effective mosquito nets that won’t give me any trouble with mosquitoes, I’m all ears!

Last October, we landed in Marrakech to spend a few days with family exploring Morocco’s roads. Transport: a rented Dacia. Accommodations: small guesthouses.

Our first stop was just a few kilometers from Marrakech, at a lovely house perfect for relaxing and recharging before continuing. It’s called Bleu House, a little paradise on the outskirts of Marrakech. The welcome was very warm, with a beautiful pool and a lovely garden.

Next, we headed toward the Tichka Pass. The road has really improved in recent years—it’s much easier to drive now. No more getting stuck behind trucks, and today, the construction is practically finished.

Morocco has turned green after the recent rains. It’s a joy for the herds and shepherds.

Nous envisageons 1 capucine, budget équipement, materiel comprit 25000 euros . 15 jours pour trouver notre CC . - vers le 01-07/08: passage en Angleterre, 2 mois pour l'Angleterre et surtout l'Ecosse . - vers le 01-15 /10 : traversée de la France, et direction Espagne et Portugal pour 2 mois . - Noel : en métropole, la nous envisageons de stationner notre cc et de partir au chaud les 2 mois d'hiver ( Grece? ou plus loin, asie ?) - vers le 01/03 départ a travers l’Allemagne , la Pologne et les pays baltes , 2 mois pour rejoindre Talin en Estonie et prendre le ferrie - Vers le 01/05 : entrée en Scandinavie, et visite de la Finlande, nord Suède et descente le long de la Norvège pour 2 mois 1/2. ( c'est ce qui nous fait rêver +++) - vers le 15 Juillet : traversée rapide du Danemark, Allemagne - vers le 25/07 : vol vers la Guyane et fin du congés... ( on pourra stocker le CC en France si on ne parvient pas a le vendre en quelques jours)

Si vous nous conseiller de modifier l’itinéraire , voila les pays que l'on souhaite absolument visiter : Ecosse, Pologne, Finlande, Norvège) et le sud de l'Europe ne nous attire pas (Italie, croatie...)

Je me pose aussi des questions coté administratif ; assurance de camping car, assurance santé ( outre la carte europ de SS et la mutuelle?), rapatriement ? passeport du CC?

Nous sommes une petite famille avec deux enfants qu'ils auront 8 et 11 ans au moment du départ. Nous avons l'intention de partir entre septembre et janvier pour visiter (dans cet ordre) le Pérou, la Bolivie puis la Colombie. Même si c'est encore incertain à ce stade, nous envisageons très certainement d'acheter un véhicule au Pérou, de faire l'intégralité de notre voyage avec et de revenir le vendre au Pérou. On s'est fixé sur 5 mois mais peut-être prolongerons-nous ce voyage de quelques semaines.... Pour ce qui est de l'école j'ai l'intention de faire les cours aux enfants en gardant contact avec les classes qu'ils devront réintégrer au retour. Mais là aussi rien est encore tout à fait défini. Nous aurions voulu échanger avec des familles qui va vivent la même expérience ou qu'ils ont vécu. Nous allons prévoir un itinéraire même s'il y a de grandes chances qu'une fois sur place on se laisse bercer par nos envies et surtout nos rencontres.

Bonjour, j'ai acheté un vélo neuf en Mai 2020 équipé de pneus Marathon Mondial. J'ai fait environ 300km depuis, vélo gonflé à 4bar à chaque fois. Je m'apercois que les pneus avant et arrière présentent de petites fissures sur le coté et au niveau du crantage. Elles ne sont pas bien grosses mais bien présentes. Est ce que cela est normal ? Est ce que ca va empirer ? Dois-je faire une réclamation ? Merci pour votre aide !

Bonjour, j'ai un velo de voyage neuf avec un pedalier Pédalier Shimano Deore 3 x 10 vitesses FC-M6000-3. Depuis que je l'ai (Mai 2020) le pedalier fait un petit bruit de cliquetement lorsque la chaine est sur le plateau du milieu. Ce bruit n'apparait pas sur le petit ni sur le grand plateau. Il apparait uniquement sur le plateau du milieu pour tous les pignons. Ca n'est pas un bruit de frottement, j'ai bien vérifié que le chaine ne frottait pas sur le derailleur mais bien des cliquettements. Le vendeur m'a dit que cela pouvait venir des rivets situé au niveau du plateau du milieu qui toucheraient la chaine lorsque l'on roule. Apres 300km de rodage cela ne part pas. Est ce que quelqu'un aurait une idée ? Merci !

Les billets d'avions sont bien presents , meme des vols directs.

Je me pose donc la question , Peut elle venir ? La laisseront ils rentrée sur le territoire et repartir chez elle ?? Elle est infirmière et est testé pour le covid19 toutes les semaines.

Car c'est très dur a vivre comme situation...
