Hi, I’m traveling to New Zealand in January 2026 with Lufthansa. To check the allowed baggage dimensions, I went to my "booking" account on the Lufthansa website. And that’s when I discovered that my last layover, the Zurich-Bordeaux flight operated by Swiffairlines, was canceled. I never received an email, and even worse, it’s not even noted on my booking. So I contacted Lufthansa. They told me that for now, there are no other flights but that there will be by the time I leave. They advised me to call them every week to get a flight. I received an email from the airline saying my return flight was canceled and rescheduled to another flight.

Nothing about the connection in France...

I checked my passenger file, everything is the same as when I first booked.

I asked for an explanation by email.

They replied that my original flight was canceled and that I should sort it out with Air France since I bought the ticket through their site.

I called Air France. Finally got through to someone. The agent checked my file and told me there were no changes and therefore couldn’t reschedule my flight.

I checked my file again: the flight is the same as on the day I bought it.

They suggested I change it by paying!!!

I forwarded Air Mauritius’s emails to Air France. Waiting to see what happens next...

Have you ever had this kind of problem? What’s going on with Air Mauritius? Have they become a third-rate airline that’s absolutely not recommendable?

Hi there, I’m heading to Kruger Park for 4 days in May 2026. Departing from Paris → Skukuza via JNB on Air France. Here’s what’s worrying me: my flight lands (in theory) at JNB at 8:30 AM (Terminal A), then I’ve got a JNB → Skukuza departure at 10:05 AM (Terminal B). That leaves me with 1 hour and 35 minutes to make the connection and clear customs. I don’t have any checked luggage—just carry-on. I called Air France, and they said it’s doable (in theory) with a minimum connection time of 1 hour 30 minutes (which is why they sold the ticket), but I’ll need to move quickly. From your experience, is this realistic in practice? Can I ask customs officers to let me through as a priority? (I’ve got my flight ticket to show.) Thanks for your insights! Serge

You’re supposed to book an appointment via their platform, but I’ve been trying for weeks with no luck. Still no available slots!! GETTING AN APPOINTMENT ON THE TLS SITE IS MISSION IMPOSSIBLE! We’re planning this *very* last-minute—I know! But we’d love to spend 4 days soon (within the next 10–12 days) on a city getaway with our young adult kids. Ideally by train, and for this short trip, we’d prefer not to spend more than 4–6 hours in transit, leaving from Lausanne (Switzerland). We’ve been considering Milan, Strasbourg, or Freiburg im Breisgau, but I’ll admit I’m feeling a bit lost...

Venice was our original plan, but the connection changes in Domodossola or Milan are making the travel time longer this year.

It’s peak summer, so there’ll be tourists and it’ll likely be hot, but oh well...

Any suggestions? We love wandering around, taking photos, exploring cities on foot, trying out restaurants, and keeping things low-key.

Hi there, I bought a ticket for a flight from Toulouse to Mauritius through the Go to Gate agency. The flight leaves Toulouse with Air France, then has a layover in Paris before continuing to Mauritius with Air Mauritius. Unfortunately, I made a typo in my partner’s name. The travel agency won’t correct it, even though Air Mauritius doesn’t see a problem—but they won’t send an email to authorize the change either. They say it’s up to Go to Gate to handle it. Just so you know, the airline can’t modify the name themselves; according to them, it’s Go to Gate’s responsibility to make the change.

The Afrosiyob races through a premature twilight, lashed by a blizzard of thick snow. In the endless gray, a monumental industrial complex occasionally emerges, ghostly. Here and there, in the middle of nowhere, a human silhouette appears (a soldier?), standing motionless by the tracks. On the screen mounted in the middle of the ceiling, a dashing Bollywood cat in vibrant colors writhes in all directions, throwing smoldering glances at a dancer on the verge of fainting. A server moves down the central aisle, offering crepes for sale—ones I suspect are stuffed with ground beef. I’m in Central Asia, in Uzbekistan, somewhere between Bukhara and Samarkand.

I chose the title "notes"—scattered thoughts, rough drafts. I’m not sure what I’ll write, but one thing’s certain: this won’t be a linear travel journal.

We got back enchanted from a 6-week trip to Cambodia! Our itinerary: Kampot - Kampong Chhnang - Battambang - Siem Reap - Kampong Cham - Sen Monorom (Mondulkiri) - Banlung (Ratanakiri) - Kratie - Kampong Thom - Phnom Penh. We traveled by bus, minivan, boat (between Battambang and Siem Reap), overnight bus, scooter, tuk-tuk, and rickshaw for shorter distances. We stayed in guesthouses, homestays, and even in the jungle during a trek. While the Angkor temples are fabulous, it’s the people you should visit Cambodia for—the "Land of Smiles" truly lives up to its nickname! Tourists gather in Angkor but are quite rare elsewhere, even though the country is easy to travel around. I won’t describe our trip in detail but instead highlight a few favorite moments. From Kampot, don’t hesitate to head out around 6 AM to see the fishermen return and their wives selling their catch (just 10 minutes away by the coast). Guaranteed picturesque! In Battambang, known for its food scene, we discovered a cooking class with Smokin’ Pot (authentic Khmer cooking class). They pick you up from your guesthouse to shop for ingredients (we made fish amok and beef lok lak) at their village market, then cook and eat together. A private class—just the two of us! They also send the recipes via WhatsApp as a PDF. +855 12 821 400 In Siem Reap, I can recommend a francophone tuk-tuk driver who was very attentive to our wishes. We visited tourist spots but also more remote villages and local grilled-pork restaurants with him. We did a 2-day, 1-night trek in Mondulkiri. Don’t expect a super dense jungle—it looks more like a forest similar to ours. A few practical tips: Though prices are often listed in dollars, you can always pay in riels (1 USD = 4000 riels), which is what we preferred. PassApp: An app to book tuk-tuks or rickshaws (and most importantly, know the price upfront). Virak Buntham: A bus company connecting several cities, bookable online.

(Accommodation in the area? Or somewhere else like 2 nights in Death Valley?) – question 2. 07/11: Death Valley. 07/12: LV. 07/13: LV. 07/14: Zion. 07/15: Bryce Canyon. 07/16: Bryce Canyon. 07/17: Moab. 07/18: Moab. 07/19: Moab. 07/20: Monument Valley. 07/21: Page. 07/22: Grand Canyon (better to stay 2 nights in Page or Grand Canyon?) – question 3. 07/23: Grand Canyon. 07/24: Kingman. 07/25: LA. 07/26: LA. 07/27: LA. 07/28: Return to France.

And question 4: For the car rental, I think it’s better to pick it up right when we arrive (to save time). But once we get to LA, should we drop it off at the airport or earlier to avoid being stuck with it (and paying extra for parking)? (We’re staying near Venice Beach for now.)

I’ve found most of them at Le Vieux Campeur and La Compagnie des Cartes, but I’m missing the following sheets: J13 / N10 / 012, and neither of these retailers can supply them. Online, I only ever find the maps I already own, not these specific numbers. Could any of you point me in the right direction? Or maybe recommend another collection? Alors, que le groupe français a décidé de lancer sa filiale low-cost sur le réseau domestique pour remplacer une partie de l'activité de HOP et d'Air France, Vueling, la filiale à bas coûts du groupe IAG, lance cet hiver de nouvelles lignes domestiques au départ de Paris.

Dès ce mardi 22 septembre, les billets seront mis en vente à partir de 29 euros l’aller simple du 16 octobre 2020 à mars 2021. Chaque vol sera direct et les lignes proposeront 2 vols hebdomadaires, les vendredis et dimanches.
