Je vais faire un voyage cet été en Californie et je voulais faire de la plongée dans le coin de San Diego. J'étais super contente de voir des poissons multicolores, des homards, des raies.....mais pas des REQUINS!

Parait qu'il y a des leopard sharks(généralement innoffensif), des blue sharks (généralement ils attaquent pas, mais peuvent vous tourner autour pendant 15 minutes et faire un test bite pour voir si vous êtes mangeable :/). et aussi il y a les fameux white sharks qui eux lorsqu'ils attaquent tu ne le vois pas il est déjà trop tard... Depuis 1926, il y a eu 85 attaques (non provoquées) en Californie par des requins (76% du temps des white sharks). en 2004, il y a eu 4 attaques (au lieu de 1 par an comme avant)... Par contre la majeure partie des attaques se fait en surface, auprès des surfeurs, pas en profondeur pendant la plongée... Mais ca arrive en profondeur, et la étant donné que tu es loin de la surface tu es plutot à la merci du requin...

Auriez vous peur vous d'aller plonger si vous risquez (risques tres bas mais bon, j'ai peur... ) de rencontrer un de ces prédateur..? Il aurait-il des personnes qui peuvent me dire si elles ont déjà plongé en Californie et quels seraient les endroit ou il y aurait moins de risques de rencontrer des requins...?

Je glane des renseignements sur un séjour de plongée en égypte et plus particulièrement à Hurgada pour une semaine en juin. Ceux qui ont plongé dans ce site en sont-ils satisfaits? Que pensez-vous des clubs comme Blue Lagoon ou Océanes? Ou faut-il préférer un TO classique (genre fram, nouvelles frontières)? Comment se déroule une semaine de plongée quand on n'en a jamais fait? Quelles sont les précautions point de vue hygiène et santé? Ya til des vaccins à faire? Quels sont les meilleurs hotels? Combien coute en général une semaine de plongée avec les suppléments, sans abus? Y atil des petites choses à penser (auquelles on ne songe pas et après, on se dit"si j'avais su"!)???

Bref tous les tuyaux pour mes premières plongées sont les bienvenues!!

Je vais en Islande en août et j'aimerai avoir des conseils pour les forfaits de bus, pour savoir lequel serait le + intéressant. Nous sommes 4 étudiants et nous n'avons vraiment pas bcp d'argent !

Nous aimerions faire un tour du genre : Reykjavik -> Thorsmörk -> Landmannalaugar -> Skaftafell -> Jokulsarlon -> retour par Vik . Et en + les "incontournables" comme le Blue Lagoon, Thingvellir, Geysir & Gullfoss.

Je n'ai pas trouvé de forfait qui inclue les voyages dans l'Intérieur, il y en a-t-il ?? Sinon, quel forfait vaut-il mieux prendre ??

We're back. It's still a bit tough to get precise info, so here's a quick trip report!

A good starting point is Shkoder, a really pleasant city. You can easily explore Shkoder itself in a day or two.

Two accessible spots: Valbona and Theth. In both cases, local travel agencies in Shkoder or online offer round-trip or one-way access packages. Super handy, especially for Valbona.

Valbona and Theth are both very steep! There aren’t many easy hikes for less sporty folks (like me!).

Valbona: The highlight is the amazing 2.5-hour boat ride across Lake Koman. There are day trips from Shkoder, but you’ll only get a short tour of the lake. The best option is to do the full crossing—so spend a night in Valbona (or two if you want to hike in the valley) and return.

Theth is deeply nestled in the mountains. The village at the end of the valley, which is a dead end, has lots of hotels, but they’re pricey. Other hostels are scattered along the mountainside road, but it’s a steep climb down to the village or to the start of the two easy hikes (waterfalls and the Blue Eye). For us, it was a one-hour descent (and ascent!). It’s fine if you have a car; otherwise, keep an eye out for a taxi (cheap) or try hitchhiking—it works really well. Access from Shkoder to Theth is through an agency. The road is in great condition, and you can also rent a car for 2-3 days in Shkoder. If we did it again, that’s the option we’d choose.

We didn’t do the trek and returned to Shkoder each time. I can’t speak to its difficulty, but we were there in late May, and even experienced hikers had given up because of heavy rain and snow.

Hope this helps! It’s a stunning region you shouldn’t miss.

We’ll be in Dahab again this October—we’ve been going since 1979—to freedive. In 2025, to our surprise, access to the Blue Hole is now paid: on top of the 10 € taxi fare, you have to pay $10 per person to enter the park. So we’re heading outside Dahab to the Three Pools site by bike, rented locally. Is there a bus that goes there, or shared taxis, instead of the tourist taxis? And where can we catch them? We’ve seen big buses full of local families on the site, but we don’t know where to find them. Thanks in advance!

I’ll be in Iceland from June 26 to July 14 (19 days). The trip is split into two parts: Day 1 to Day 13 as a 4x4 road trip / Day 14 to Day 19 as the Laugavegur Trek. We’ll be in a 4x4 like a Jimny with a roof tent, and for the trek, we’ll be self-sufficient (tent, sleeping mat, etc.).

I came across a (really interesting) cruise on the Mein Schiff 4, and apparently, no French agencies sell Mein Schiff cruises. After several searches online, only Wondercruises and Seascanner work with them.

The advantage of Wondercruises is that they’re partners with "Flying Blue," and you can earn miles.

I love a good challenge, so why not try out this company—it seems pretty solid!

Hi there, Our son is in Canada for a year on a Working Holiday Visa, and we’re planning to join him around September 20th for a 15-day campervan road trip in Nova Scotia. I was thinking of going with Canadream, but if you have other rental companies to recommend, don’t hesitate! Here’s the itinerary I’ve been considering—I tried not to cram in too many stops so we’re not just driving the whole time.

Day 1: Pick up campervan in Halifax at 3 PM. Stop at Peggy’s Cove, then drive to Lunenburg and Blue Rocks (151 km) Day 2: Explore Lunenburg, then head to Kejimkujik National Park for hikes or other activities. Overnight in the park (91 km) Day 3: Drive to Annapolis Royal (visit), Port-Royal National Historic Site, then on to Digby (111 km) Day 4: Ferry to Saint John (visit Reversing Falls), then drive to St. Andrews (103 km) Day 5: Whale-watching excursion and explore St. Andrews Day 6: Drive to Alma and Fundy National Park (233 km—we’ll probably leave St. Andrews the night before to split the drive and arrive earlier in Alma) Day 7: Hopewell Rocks (check tides) (43 km) Day 8: Hopewell Rocks—Tatamagouche (dinner train)—Pictou (237 km). Maybe there are places to listen to folk music? - If you have any campgrounds or wild camping spots to recommend, I’d love to hear about them. - Do we need to book the ferry this time of year?

I'm trying to plan a little Greek getaway in early summer, and it's a tad complicated—connections from Sitia to Rhodes via Karpathos are only twice a week (and not on the days that work for me!). I gave up on the idea of Kastelorizo, which isn’t that easy to reach either, and replaced it with Symi, which has a daily connection—even several—to Rhodes, where I’d like to spend as little time as possible. I found a boat leaving Symi at 8:15 AM and arriving in Rhodes at 9:35 AM. The ferry to Karpathos leaves the same day at 11:00 AM. That’s 1 hour and 25 minutes to switch boats. It’s tempting because it’s a perfect sequence, but I’m wondering if it’s still a bit too tight.

Do Sebeco Lines’ speedboats arrive at the same port where Blue Star ferries depart? Are they punctual?

Hi everyone, I’m not sure if you can help us out. We’ll be in Venice from June 8th to 17th. We arrive at the airport on the 8th and planned to take the Alilaguna waterbus to St. Mark’s Square to get to our Airbnb. We’ve estimated arriving at St. Mark’s Square between 11 AM and 12 PM. We didn’t realize we’d be arriving on the day of the race.

Because of the Vogalonga race taking place on June 8th, is the Grand Canal still navigable? If not, from what time will it be accessible again?

The initial idea was to go to Nashville. Why? I don’t really know. For info, we’ve already been to NYC and Washington D.C.

That said, I opened an Excel sheet and put this together:

D1: Arrival at Newark around 9 PM. Pick up car and overnight near the airport D2/3: Philadelphia D4: Lancaster (Amish Village) then drive to Shenandoah NP. Overnight in the northern part of the park (Front Royal?) D5: Scenic road - Overnight in Charlottesville D6: Blue Ridge Parkway - Overnight in Troutville D7: Blue Ridge Parkway - Overnight in Boone D8: Blue Ridge Parkway - Overnight in Asheville D9: Blue Ridge Parkway - Overnight in Gatlinburg D10: Smoky Mountains - Overnight in Gatlinburg

That’s where things get tricky.

If I add 2 nights in Nashville, it really tightens up the end of the trip in terms of mileage.

I thought about doing:

D11/12: Nashville D13: Mammoth Cave > Lexington D14: Fayetteville D15: X D16: Drive back to Newark.

But honestly, I’m not happy with the end.

So I thought about adding Gettysburg by adjusting things and shortening D4, which I felt was too packed: D1: Arrival at Newark around 9 PM.
