Climate and Weather in Guyana
Climate Overview
Guyana's climate is hot and humid. It is characterised by two distinct periods: the rainy season, which is quite long, running from December to the end of July (with May-June being the wettest months, while late February/March offers a lull), and the dry season for the rest of the year. In both seasons, the average temperature hovers around 30°C during the day and 23°C at night. Everywhere, the heat is muggy but significantly tempered along the coast by trade winds. It's also worth noting that rain typically falls in the late afternoon, that the Lethem region (on the Brazilian border) is the only one with a dry season from November to March, and that Guyana, unlike the Caribbean, is not prone to cyclones.
