In France, both for individuals and professionals, the "travel advice" from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding precautions for each country has legal value. A similar online travel advice system exists in several countries:

Crime and Delinquency

Crime is a persistent issue in Guyana, particularly in Georgetown, the capital. Therefore, exercise caution even though, as always, taking basic precautions common to any travel—such as not flaunting wealth, avoiding deserted beaches, not walking alone at night in isolated areas, opting for official taxis, and staying alert in transport—will reduce risks. In case of assault, however, it is advisable not to resist and to always carry "something" to give to attackers. If you have a vehicle, it is highly recommended to use guarded parking, leave nothing inside, drive with windows and doors locked, and of course, avoid driving at night.
