Getting to Great Britain by Land or Sea
FR

By Land

Only the Republic of Ireland shares a land border with the United Kingdom. Specifically, 443 km of border with Northern Ireland. There are numerous border crossings between the two Irelands, with no issues. Moreover, given the long "shared history" between Ireland and the United Kingdom, to which Northern Ireland is attached, there are no checks (pending the effects of Brexit), and the border is not always clearly marked.
